Because it's better to be a liberal where you do it, you just don't get caught talking about it?

Watching people fight over which side has the moral high ground on this, when both sides are 20 feet below sea level is kind of amusing.

Yet you're not watching, and you are a participant here and are directing your argument and posts to the other side. superconfused

Couple quick questions.. I'm not watching what? And which side is "the other side"?

Were you at work when you said that? I get the "dark jokes" from a perspective where you are trying to ease into something, when you're talking with co workers. I do, really. That's how some/many health workers talk to each other, in a private setting.

But, you weren't talking to co worker.

And, in your defense, you didn't KNOW some on here may have autistic children.

You attempted to slam trump, and you offended some by using the word you used.

Excusing it by saying "well, I work in health care" doesn't make a difference.

You work in hospice care. Not health care currently.

Would it offend you if someone said "ah, hospice workers are in the killing business. They don't kill per se, but death is what they do every day." Would that offend you?

Maybe, maybe not.

And for the record, I know what hospice does. I appreciate what hospice does. Trust me.

The "smurf" comment. I knew what it was, but you certainly won't see me using that term. Even if I was a doctor that dealt with it/saw it often. I wouldn't use that "humor". Not around other people.

Now, because my name is attached to this post, my guess is you'll get upset.

Work humor belongs at work. Socially acceptable humor belongs in social settings.

You attempted to denigrate autism or equate it with someone you despise. It was used as a put down, and you know it.

Cool it Francis.

Ted and I have worked this out through PMs.

And no I wouldn’t be offended. You could call my mom names, tell me I’m in the murder business, whatever, and I wouldn’t get offended. Life is too short to walk around sour.

I stand by the gist of my statement. It’s 1:36pct and trump is still emotionally stunted.

We have, turns out Portland and I have more in common with regard to special needs than meets the eye.

Wanted to smack him around this morning, now I wanna give him a firm handshake, a heart felt thank you for his (and his family's service) to the special needs community and a quick guy hug.

Hats off to you my friend.

Now can this thread get back on track? Which I think is about whether or not Swish has offended a dead soldier?

"Lighten up, Francis" is a line from the Bill Murray movie 'Stripes.'
It's a popular internet meme now.

Seems like Portland beat me to it.
Carry on, all...

Sometimes, I think so.
But that's because of context more than anything else. AND not specifically aimed at you.

Sometimes, it's obvious to all that jokes are flying. Sometimes, it's a bit harder to discern. That's why some lean on purple text.

Guess you slipped one past me today.

This is off limits. Sacred turf. Wrong for any president to use this way. Not media fodder.

No good reason to use this to throw down on Obama or any president. Hypocritical of politicians avoiding service to wrap themselves in the flag like this. Always needs an enemy or opponent just like Nixon. Not acceptable for anyone to do this, especially the way Trump went off, and especially if not true. That makes him a fake news source it seems. No more of this. Take the nonsense elsewhere.

Even conservatives get humor. Based on you and Clem's reactions at first, I'd have to think it's liberals that don't get counter humor.

That would be judging though, wouldn't it.

I still find it ironically humorous that you felt, and feel, you can denigrate someone and then claim "oh, I was misunderstood". As in, "don't take that literal" even though you meant it, until called on the carpet. Then it was "I didn't mean it".

Yet, you hold others to different standards. Weird how that works, isn't it. catfight

I disagree.

It's based on political affiliation and presumption. And I do it as well.

But damn, I can't believe I'd have to use purple in the post I made in order to make sure people got it.

And to you and portland: Just got back from hunting. Sitting on the edge of a woods, looking over about 80 acres of ground/field. Watching a deer come down the tree line. Watching a coyote show up. (I'm sure he had friends close by - that's how they work). Then, a bit later, watching 3 deer loping along. (all of these were out of "bow shot" distance - as in, over 200 yards away)

Well, sirs, it puts ones mind at ease. I should do it more often, not just when hunting.

You’re at peace when you kill animals from a distance?

Arch. It’s over. I’ve appologized to Ted directly.
While it was in poor taste I didn’t mean harm or disrespect. I’m human. I’m flawed. I’ve made my peace about it to the person it directly impacted. He’s forgiven me.
It’s over.

As to your comment about sitting in the woods (regardless of reason) I get it. I go fishing but when I don’t catch anything I don’t consider it a wasted day. The act of standing in a river, in beautiful surroundings, with nothing but the water, sun, and your thoughts while you cast for hours is a therapeutic release.
It’s good for my mind to be tuned out to the ‘real’ world while I focus on the next cast. The shift in the wind. The color of the water and the quality of the light and how it effects my lure color choice. Etc. Most of us, me included, don’t get enough opportunities in life to step away Ike that.

I'm very much at peace.

Nature. Get out somewhere and try it. Even with a kill in mind. You know, for food.

At a distance? With a bow, anything over 50 yards is a no go for me. Heck, even 45 yards is pushing it. For me.

Did you notice I didn't kill anything today? Did you notice just flat out being in the woods was what put me at peace? Perhaps you didn't notice that.

It's not like some metro park. It's not like going to a zoo and seeing animals. It's real life.

Were you at peace today when you ate your beef, or chicken, or turkey? I bet you were. It's peaceful not having to see the kill, right?

Watching nature by being IN nature, is a great thing. Even if the goal is to kill. Yup, it's killing. For food.

I suppose I could just go to the store to buy meat. That way I wouldn't have to think about the animal I was going to eat. And it would be easier. You never fail when you go to the store, right?

Yeah, I'm at peace when I'm out hunting - or, as tonight, just watching.

Now, woodchucks? I'm at peace killing them. Live out in the country sometime. You're always telling me how I don't know what it is like to be "you", or live in your hood.

Conversely, you don't know what it's like here. Judge me if you want.

I hunt deer for meat, to eat. I could easily do as you do and just go to the store and buy it. That would save me time. It would save me the "seeing the killing" aspect. It would save me gutting the deer, dragging it out, hanging it, taking the hide off, boning it, and processing it.

Yeah, I'm at peace when I'm out hunting.

Woodchucks? 10 yards or 320 yards, killing them is a good thing. Rodents. I've even been asked how much I charge for killing woodchucks by a farmer.

Just as I don't know what living in the "hood" is like, you don't know what living in the country is like.

Fair enough?

That was a whole bunch of nonsense when all you had to do was answer with “yes”.

Okay.

So, yes, I'm at peace in the woods. I'm at peace killing a deer for food. I'm at peace killing rodents. I'm at peace in nature, watching nature do its thing. Got a problem with that? If not, why did you post what you did? If you do have a problem with it, please expound on it. Thanks.

I posted what I did cause I knew you would get triggered.

Judging by these non stop ramblings, looks like it worked. My job here is done.

Answer to what? If you ever paid attention to what I post you know I’m cool with hunters and have hunted before myself. It’s not for me but I don’t knock anyone who does it.

But you made it clear you don’t.
Lol, settle down bro. You need to work on trigger management.

You've hunted, but it's "not for you", yet you try to make me look like the bad guy cause I do hunt, for food?

Dude, you have so many holes in your stories it's sad. I feel for you.

Triggered? Not in the least. You, on the other hand...........wow, just my name showing up triggers you. It's sad on one hand, but enlightening on the other hand.
