Jimmy loses a lot of fans if he fires Hue. I don't think this true. I think the general fan base wouldn't care if either coach or FO is fired. I don't think that's the right approach but my sense around town is people want blood. Many sports talk fans (not the truest barometer) are pretty hateful towards Hue.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

I've hung in there through a lot of things with this team. But if Haslam proves to me that he lacks any patience with letting any FO and coaching staff panning out together, I just don't know. I'm in total agreement. The record is abysmal but you can see we have pieces. If after just 2 years into a complete and utter teardown it's reset again, nobody who can make a difference will come here. No-one. Sure, $$ talks, but like the safety (Jefferson?) who opted for less money in Balt, money will not fix a culture of constant resetting, firing, wasted drafts and players who don't fit schemes or simply just don't fit because of regime change. We have some good young players. We need more. We have 5 picks in the first 2 rounds in 2018 for crying out loud. A QB who works fixes a lot of issues here. Jimmy G, Cousins, hell even Tyrod Taylor as free agents / trade acquisitions. If this transpires it is SO Browns you'd have to laugh or you'd cry.

when we fired someone, I forget who, the first couple of people on our list wanted no part of us. we ended up settling for a d. coordinator nobody had heard of and two years later he was fired. you know how some guys tell you they married above their status level. well, somehow we hired a coach above our status level, a guy who was wanted by several other teams. somehow we got him to come to Cleveland.
we then proceeded to do a tear down and start a rebuild with accompanying assurances that our new staff would be given time to get the job done. if we turn around and fire hue now we will be lucky to get some third rate special teams coach to come here to be our head coach. no one wants to coach at a place where it is two and out.
as frustrating as losing is we are closer than many think to turning this around. I really hope jimmy has learned the lesson that apparently some fans have not.

My observation is we flame another dumpster week after week, but it is better than last year. The fires are smaller, the stink is limited, things like that which pass for progress here. But it is bad, and it is junky crap that we could address and do better. But the dumb & lousy stuff just keeps getting repeated, same stuff on a different Sunday.
I believe we can do better with what we have now if Hue can do better. We haven't been this bad because of opponents as a sole cause: We have insisted on not learning from our mistakes and correcting them. Much of our issues are tied to the sideline. Not sure it has honestly addressed itself as such thus far, because we trot out a carbon copy of the game plan. The song remains the same.
Go, Browns!

No clue who this Miller dude is ... i don’t know who many of them are as i don’t pay much attention to rumor mill types ....
If this dude thinks Tyrod Taylor is the answer to any teams QB woes he’s a CLUELESS BASTARD, i’ll tell u that much ... To me its just a bunch of speculation and BS ... it stinks not to have Wentz or possibly Watson but trading has given us an opportunity to make 3 first rnd and a 2nd rounder this past draft .... and we have two 1st and at least 2 2nd rnd Picks this year ... just like many of the posters on here ... they forget all the draft Capitol we’ve aquired ...
Quite frankly this dude sounds like one of the frustrated FANS on here ...
I think hes full of CRAP quite frankly ...

I listened to the podcast and he thinks we should get Tyrod Taylor as a bridge QB so we don't have to start a young guy right away. A lot of what he said in the podcast I do not agree with.

Matt Miller is the lead draft writer for Bleacher Report. Relatively solid history of NFL draft evaluations but lately his talent has lagged behind his ego as he's rose to his level of fame, and it has made him a lot less enjoyable. Everything now just stinks of, "I'm smarter than everyone else." His final mock draft for the Browns was pretty crap - mocking multiple 2nd rounders to us in the 4th round after trading away 12 and 52 for Trubisky at 6. Really unrealistic stuff. He put his hand up for our GM job on Twitter last week following quite a vitriolic rant against our front office, before doing a lengthy podcast in which he decide he'd rebuild the Browns around Baker Mayfield. The article posted only mentions Tyrod Taylor, but Taylor was merely his stop-gap while he develops his love for Mayfield. Good luck finding a new head coach who will be happy to have his career tied to Mayfield and Miller from day one. I think I'd watch Hue Jackson waltz back to Cincinnati with tears in my eyes. Matt Miller hates the front office and has since day one. If I may editorialize, I think he believes they don't deserve their positions. A somewhat, "They're not even talent evaluations but I am and I didn't get an NFL front office job but they did so f#&k them" form of envy. I honestly believe the rumors he's starting against Hue Jackson leaving for the Bengals are designed to rile up the fan base against the front office. Then again, it pays to be controversial. That twitter rant against the Browns got a lot of retweets, sent his podcast viral, got radio appearances in Cleveland and plenty of writers scribbling their thoughts on what he had to say. He might know he's full of it, but the pay slips and engagements are very real.

I'm excited about getting rid of Hue. The sooner we fire him, the sooner we start building to win. Hue has never won anything except playoff berths but blew all those. He should have beat the Steelers but his playcalling was horrible. Too predictable and vanilla. He is a loser kind of guy. How about we get someone who is a winner like Mike Vrabel, 3 time Superbowl Champion! Ohio State guy! A guy who's played in the big dance and knows what it takes to do the job. Not this all talk no action grap!!! Lets move forward please because it ain't gonna be with hue and Deshone, even if we win today. Don't get all excited. We need a real coach and personnel guys!!! Go Browns!!!!
Exciting football will be back in Cleveland this fall!

Hue's play calling is what lost the Bengal's game against the Steelers?
The loss had nothing to do w/the Bengals being in total control only to lose it when Hill fumbled the ball and Burefict and Pac Man had those dumb ass penalties?

I remember Burefict Pac and Hill screwing up but they still could have won. I taped the game. Hues play calls were stupid. I wanted the Bengals to beat the Steelers so bad but hue kept blowing it. Slow developing running plays! He seems to be that kind of guy. He had some really good players too. I was livid when they named him head coach of the Browns. It was a horrible feeling and he's worse than I had imagined.

No clue who this Miller dude is Come on it's Matt Miller. His work has been featured in the last three Madden video games. He was the special teams coordinator for the three-time league champion Joplin Crusaders of the Central Football League.

Can't be serious. Not ALL of us are. The OC is not. We give up the interviews like this and stink it up.
Some of us are not. More head scratching after today's calls on offense. Three in a series on the ground & punt. Declining penalty which converts and later scores. Britt again! Offsides? Almost 100 yards in penalties again, picks on drives.

Way too many posters on this board are just focused on "winning".
Relax and enjoy the game. Let opposing team fans worry about "winning" and "making the play-offs".
The Browns are showing definite signs of improvement.
I think it's very likely the Browns will win a game this year.
If they get a couple good breaks, the Browns might even walk away with two wins this year.
That would be icing on the cake.

Relax and enjoy the game. If you're calling that exhibition of sub mediocre play by both teams a game, that's just not possible.

That would be like the Super Bowl! I wouldn't wait until the last minute to order those "Two Wins" rings. An official Cleveland Browns NFL ring (in case your grandchildren don't believe it when you tell them the Browns used to be an NFL team)

Jimmy loses a lot of fans if he fires Hue. I would love to hear the reasoning for this one... Okay. The FO and the owner blew up the roster. We cut decent players and let good player walk in FA. Additionally, they have not brought in a qb worth a damn. Furthermore, Hue is a respected coach in the NFL and Sashi and crew have no credibility in the NFL outside of some homers on message boards and talk radio. Also, the team is inexperienced and lacking talent in many of the skill positions. Those aren't coaching issues. Those issues have been created by the owner and the FO. Oh, and who in the hell thinks that the constant firings isn't one of the biggest reasons we are in the mess to begin with. I hope that answers your question.

He's already criticized and publicly acknowledges patience, in addition, they tore up the roster almost bottom up. They've missed some picks that could've helped big time. He deserves three years at least. All JMO

Vers, What people forget is that WHO IS GOING TO WANT TO COME HERE?? Who will come here with our FO taking more draft picks than vets? Or having no QB and a FO who passes on QB talent?? Yea, I'm sure that line will be long!!

j/c -
I think the absolute number one question that needs to be answered is do you trust Sashi and Depo to run next year's draft.
I'm all on board with giving everyone more time. The whole crew ... Hue, Sashi, Depo.
But if that's the case it makes me very nervous about next year's draft.

Yea, I'm sure that line will be long!! I see that all the time. I don't agree. If you have been working to be a NFL head coach, you grab the opportunity. There is only 32 of those opportunities. All coaches think they can fix things. That is part of what makes them a coach.

I think we should retain everyone. The only change I would advocate is to bring in a guy to help w/acquiring talent.
