Adrian Wojnarowski‏Verified account @wojespn

Adrian Wojnarowski Retweeted Chris Haynes

Sources: Suns engaged in trade talks w/ several teams on Bledsoe. Phoenix soliciting offers with expectation he’s on move elsewhere.

So, do we want Bledsoe? I know he and LBJ are buddies/business associates. What would it take to get him?

I like Bledsoe.

I'm not sure how he fits on this team with all the PG's we already have. At least without trading one of the ones we have.

Thomas
Rose
Calderon

Calderon and Shump for Bledsoe maybe?

Dwyane Wade to Come off Bench for Cavaliers, JR Smith to Start

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/27402...-smith-to-start

After just three games, the Cleveland Cavaliers are shaking up their starting lineup.

Coach Ty Lue told reporters Monday that JR Smith will return to the starting lineup in place of Dwyane Wade, who will now come off the bench. The move, according to Lue, came at Wade's behest.

"It's a class act for him to come to me," Lue told reporters.

The Cavaliers' new-look starting lineup has failed to coalesce through the first three games, with Wade being arguably the worst player in their entire rotation. He's averaging 5.7 points and 3.3 assists in 23.7 minutes per game, shooting 28 percent from the floor.

"I just decided earlier than later, just to get to a unit I will be more comfortable in—and can probably be better with this team in that lineup," Wade told reporters. "Why wait? Three games in, why wait?"

The move should help assuage any lingering disappointment from Smith, who had started in Cleveland across three consecutive Finals runs. Smith admitted he was "hurt" by the benching on Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye's Road Trippin' podcast.

"Honestly, I was hurt, man," Smith said (h/t Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com). "I was really emotionally drained at that point. I got wind of it that it was going to go down, but I didn't know. I was told he's going to be great for the second unit...It would be a great fit for the team, whatever, whatever. I'm like, 'Awesome, let's do it. One hundred percent. Out of all people, another person we're going to just grab for damn-near nothing? For sure. Let's do it.'"

Smith has also been struggling mightily in his new role, averaging 6.3 points and 2.7 rebounds on 33.3 percent shooting.

The move might return the Cavaliers to a sense of normalcy amid a start that felt rockier than their 2-1 record. Wade and Derrick Rose made for an untenable pairing in the starting lineup, with their inability to stretch the floor cramping space and forcing more closely contested shots. The Cavs have been taking threes at a much lower rate than last season, thanks in large part to adding guys like Wade and Rose.

Giving Wade a chance to lead the second unit will probably put the ball in his hands more often, which will help erase some of the spacing issues he creates.

Wade to the bench, JR back to the starting lineup per a bunch of cavs reporters.

Wade went to Lue and suggested a bench role.

I agree with this, although, I think JR was going to get big minutes whether he was on floor at the tip or not. He's a good defender, and a good shooter, and that's always going to be a great fit for Lebron.

Wade might actually be better when Lebron comes off, and the offense will change a bit.

As Sperg said, JR was probably going to get more minutes by the end of the season, so this is more about managing egos and keeping people happy. I'd think Lebron would want JR stalking the arc while he's on the floor instead of looking for Wade within the arc ready to cut to the basket.

Overall I think this news is really a positive sign. I just hope Wade hasn't lost it yet.

The guys are trying different things to see what works best. We all knew it was going to take some time for this team to gel. Especially with ALL these new additions.

Steph Curry fined $50k for throwing mouthpiece near official

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has been fined $50,000 for throwing his mouthpiece in the direction of a game official, the NBA announced Monday.

The incident occurred with 43.6 seconds left in the Warriors' 111-101 loss Saturday to the Memphis Grizzlies. Curry tossed his mouthpiece in the general direction of a referee in frustration, while complaining about a no-call on a drive.

As part of the same incident, Warriors forward Andre Iguodala has been fined $15,000 for verbally abusing a game official.

Kevin Durant was also ejected when he joined Curry in arguing with the officials, but the league didn't announce discipline for Durant.

After shootaround Monday, the two-time MVP was optimistic he would not be suspended and would be allowed to play against the Dallas Mavericks.

"Obviously I want to play tonight, and don't think a suspension is necessary," Curry said. "I'm pretty sure, based on the precedent that was set the last time I threw my mouthpiece, that there will be a fine. I hope to be out there playing tonight and help my team get a win."

Curry has been apologetic about the incident.

"I didn't even need to watch it," said Curry, who spent his off day in Dallas playing golf with former President Barack Obama, PGA Tour star Jordan Spieth and his brother, Mavericks guard Seth Curry. "In the grand scheme of things, it's Game 3, we were playing terrible, I was frustrated because I was fouling and I thought I got fouled on the last play. The reaction was definitely a little over the top.

"Stuff happens. I'll try to continue to be myself and show some fire but do it in a way that doesn't take away from the team and misrepresent kind of who I am when it comes to a reaction like that. I don't necessarily think it will be something going forward that you'll see, but you obviously have some regret about going overboard a little bit and lashing out."

Curry has stressed that he did not intend to throw his mouthpiece at the official. He is not sure whether the official thought Curry targeted him with the throw.

"I think once he saw the mouthpiece flying, he was already throwing me out," Curry said. "I don't even know if he knew where it went, let alone where it ended up. I would say I wasn't trying to hit him with it or put him in danger by any type of stretch of the imagination.

"Again, it was a dumb thing to do. It was stupid. Learn from it and try to move on and be better."

ESPN's Tim MacMahon contributed to this report.

I like Wade coming off the bench. Clearly he's having a slow start. JR, as stated, is going to get the minutes anyway and also as stated, I like JR and LBJ on the floor at the same time.

Wade is struggling to hit them shots. JR can also play defense. I dig it.

He's a spoiled rich kid.

I don't want to just throw a blanket on it like that, but that's what he is. You look at what Lebron went through to get where he is, and compare it to Curry, and you can see why they both act the way they do.

To be fair, LeBron whines as much as anyone. He literally did a commercial making fun of himself being a baby.

every NBA player whines, but Green/Curry cross the line to being disrespectful while doing so..NBA needs to hammer them next time

I'd trade just about anyone on our bench for bledsoe, took all of 3 games for rose to get hurt. We need another PG, I'd throw any combination of frye, shump, calderon, holland, Osman to get it done. Bledsoe also a better shooter than rose.

I think wade will be better for the second unit and you could possibly see less lebron now with the second unit which should keep his minutes down.(In theory, but since Lue hasn't in 3 years proved he has a clue about limiting minutes, I'm not holding my breath). But it also cures I think is the biggest issue with Wade with the starters and thats amount of touches. He's not used to being 3-4 option. He'll be option 1 now and thats good for everyone, plus you put JR back with the ones and you have your spacing again

My dream scenario would be to somehow trade a package of players/expiring contracts to PHX for Bledsoe.

Then trade the Boston pick to the Pelicans for Cousins.

If we really want to compete with Golden State, that might be the way.

Isaiah Thomas
Eric Bledsoe
LeBron James
Kevin Love
DeMarcus Cousins

Dwyane Wade
Jae Crowder
Derrick Rose
Kyle Korver
Tristian Thompson
JR Smith

Curry should've been fined for complaining about not getting a call there. Didn't seem to be too egregious to start throwing things and pitch a fit.

When you see a temper tantrum like that, it's usually a hand/arm to the face or neck. Golden State is too used to being the beneficiary of ticky-tack fouls.

Ty Lue puts LeBron at point guard in revised starting lineup

https://www.thescore.com/news/1401766
Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue will start LeBron James at point guard for Tuesday's game against the Chicago Bulls, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

Lue said the presence of Chicago center Robin Lopez - one of the best offensive rebounders in the league - factored into his call.

The other factor is that injuries have decimated Cleveland's depth at point guard. Isaiah Thomas remains out indefinitely due to an ailing hip, while Derrick Rose is nursing a sprained ankle and will not play. The Cavs also traded seldom used Kay Felder in a salary cutting move earlier in the month.

The decision therefore came down to starting 36-year-old Jose Calderon, or turning to James, who already is the primary decision maker for Cleveland regardless of positional designation.

The other four members of Cleveland's starting lineup will also be noticeably different. Tristan Thompson and J.R. Smith return to the first unit, while Jae Crowder and Kevin Love each slid down a position to small and power forward.

The Cavaliers are 2-1 to start the season, although they're coming off a shocking 21-point loss to the Orlando Magic.

good win ... good final three quarters. LBJ was a man again. Wade looked better IMO.

LeBron was a beast. There are only two players I've ever seen look like they are playing with college players in a pro game and basically do whatever they want whenever they want...Jordan and LeBron.

Love was a beast.

Wade with the second unit just makes too much sense. Keep it that way.

Cavs are old, slow, unathletic, and still don't give effort on the defensive end unless they have to. All of these are reasons why they continue to get down to these young, athletic teams early. This is why I believe Altman should have demanded Brown or Tatum back in the deal and if not, kept Kyrie. Back to back today after LeBron and Love expended a lot of energy last night. I would not be surprised if the Cavs lost to the Nets tonight.

This team is counting on experience to win but the NBA is a young man's league. I'm a bit concerned at the moment.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

I liked the "big" lineup. I also liked DWade w/the second unit and I thought that was where he would be before the season.

It's going to take some time for the rotations to be set and for the team to develop chemistry, but I like our roster, especially if IT and Rose are healthy for the playoffs.

yeah, this is a bulls team that is basically made up with rookies and dleaguers in a rebuild, I think last years team beats them by 30 and lebron is sitting the 4th. Lue has alot to work with but he's going to have to figure it out. scraping out a win against the baby bulls doesn't look good anywhere other than the win column.

the 4 is still Love's best position. TT isn't a great 5 but he's been playing it for 4 years, he knows what is required of him. Asking love to play the 5 just hurts him I think. He isn't built to bang bodies 35 minutes a game, TT is and does it with a smile.

I'd almost run with the lineup from last night until IT comes back, lebron as PG is just stupid..he makes passes no other PG can because he sees over everyone and he knows what everyone should be doing and where they should be even if they themselves don't, you saw it a few times last night, where Korver or JR should have cut to the empty paint but they didn't but lebron made the pass, then you watch replay and realize JR and Korver are idiots because lebron just threw them a dime they missed. Those start to cleanup, then all of sudden that spacing is back because they have to be aware of back cuts.

Speaking of bigs, man NO has a quandry, Davis (who was injured last night) and Boogie are beasts, but as a team they suck. I hope they continue to suck and realize they need to blow it u p. Giving us either cousins or AD. On this team I'd prefer Boogie, he's got that nasty streak noone else has, and he's the most unstoppable big in the game

Isn't that true of the mostly within the regular season? In the playoffs, it's an old man's league (or "experience wins").

Outside of the Cavs, I'm watching a few other teams/players:

- The Warriors, for obvious reasons
- The Bucks, because Giannis is awesome (and they have Delly)
- The Rockets and Thunder, they both could be very good
- The Nets, because we own their pick.
- The Pelicans, because I want to give them the Nets pick for a big

I don’t think Lue is the right coach for this team. A team with this much talent and you are making teams look like the warriors. You can’t play defense this bad and think you’re going anywhere
