We're told you can't judge a race (black) by the acts of some of them. I agree. But, on here, it's okay to judge whites based on the actions of a few?

I haven't posted much recently. I've been called racist. A punk. An "azzhole" I'm none of them, yet, being labeled as such affects me. I don't need it. And, it's made me realize a few things.

The board functions just perfectly without me. The same people I had issues with are now having issues with different people. Hmmmm.

I'll keep reading, may even chime in once in a while, but nothing gets solved here. In fact, deeper partisanship happens. I don't care for that, and I don't want to be a part of that.

I tend to believe if you look up the welfare system and what LBJ said/did about the minorities in the country - you will see who caters to who and why. You can say all you want about trump, but the truest thing he has ever said is that Democrats in Washington only care about the black population come election time.

You say the GOP caters to far right and white supremacist, they get about 52-54% of the white vote historically, the D's get about 95% of the black vote historically and I would say about 70-80% of the latino vote. That does say something to you about who is catering to a certain group and pandering......

Yeah I grew up in the day of "blacks only" restrooms, drinking fountains in a small dominantly white town. The signs where eventually taken down but the persistent systematic inequality prevails. We have a long way to go.

Growing up during high school the smartest kid in the entire High School was black student in my class. She put everyone to shame with her overall knowledge history, math, speech capability on the debate team, and in civics classes. She was left off the honor roll at our HS graduation. She sat in the back with the rest of the black students with no honors.

Growing up I was hanging with friends in the park when 3 black teens younger and smaller then us was walking home from whatever through the park. All of a sudden out of no where two brothers I has hanging with went ballistic on these kids mostly verbal but some pushing and shoving. I was horrified but I froze up I didn't do a thing. It took me the rest of my youth and part of adult life to live that down. I apologized to the three kids many times and told them I don't hang with those guys anymore. I explained I was so sorry. They said yeah sure and refused to accept it, and I deserved it and that was fine I knew I lost their trust and nothing I could really do now but be a better person and understand how to walk in the shoes of others.

I'm now friends with one of these boys on FB and he has accepted the repeated apology, but I know he'll never truly trust me.
