Myles Garrett has been placed in concussion protocol.

He reported to the facility Tuesday morning with concussion-like symptoms.

Fans can begin lining up on the Cleveland Bridge starting at noon. Try to wear comfortable clothing. Avoiding traffic seems unnecessary, playing in it is suggested. Van Halen's Jump will be repeatedly played over loud speakers.

Browns’ Myles Garrett in concussion protocol

Posted by Michael David Smith on October 25, 2017, 11:13 AM EDT
link

The first pick in the draft has the second injury of his rookie season.

Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett has been placed in the concussion protocol, the team announced. Although Garrett didn’t appear to be injured during Sunday’s game against the Titans, he began to feel symptoms of a concussion and was placed in the protocol on Tuesday.

Given that the Browns leave for London tomorrow, it seems unlikely that Garrett will play this week. It typically takes at least a few days for a player in the concussion protocol to be cleared, and players who haven’t been cleared typically don’t travel to road games.

Garrett missed the first four games of the season with a high ankle sprain. He has played well since his return, with four sacks in three games.

I cannot imagine them having him fly overseas with having had a recent concussion, even if they somehow cleared him by Friday or Saturday.

Not saying he won't be missed, but at least our defense is still decent without him.

You know who doesn't have a concussion?

Carson Wentz baby!

Not having Myles means it is less likely I will get up at 6am to watch the game. And more likely I will bet against the Browns for some easy money. Boom.

Even with Myles, I'm not watching. Maybe after the bye week, I'll want more punishment/weather will be cold enough to stay inside.

Big maybe haha. There's nothing but misery watching this professional football team.

Hopefully this week and the bye will get Garrett out of concussion protocol. Hopefully he isn't in it as long as Collins was.

I would have concussion like symptoms if I was 0-7 too.

well, this is par for the course

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

The report seems confusing. They say that there didn't seem to be an injury yet the "symptoms are concussion like". You don't see the symptoms of a concussion suddenly show up three days after a game.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Its possible Pitt ... just happend to one of my nephews .. he plays soccer ... man, never having played or been a fan of the sport ... i had no clue there are a ton of concussions in soccer ... now, having watched it for a few years i can see why ...

Anyhow about 3 or four weeks ago he was in a tourny ... on Saturday he was going for a ball and the goalie came out and they collided ... my nephew went head over heals and landed appearantly on his head .... this was their 2nd game saturday ...

No one thought anything of it ... he played two games on sunday ... no problems and no headers with the ball or the ground ...

Monday he started complaining of headaches .. i actually went to school and got him ...

Same thing tuesday so his ma had me take him to the doc ... were talking and talking ... she couldn’t figure it out ... we had no clue .....

and finally i remembered the play on saturday ... she asked a few probing questions ... when he got up he didn’t see stars or anything but he said he was dizzy for a few seconds ... she said that was it ... he had a low/medium grade concussion ...

So it can happen ...

He probably got it from beating his head against the wall for coming out early and being drafted by us.

j/c...worse has happened this is nothing...just something that would have been over looked in yesteryears of football. Glad we caught it early if we were on a Playoff run it would hurt us. Its something that will get better within a week or so and he will be back on track. Of all the hardship in losing Joe T this pales in comparison.

It's all caving in. It can always get worse, too. There is no rock bottom for the Browns.

Hell, just today, on the Browns very own produced show Cleveland Browns Daily, co-host, Matt Wilhelm, actually suggested Myles Garrett was faking the concussion to get out of playing. Nathan Zegura had to take to Twitter just to separate himself from the comment. Unreal.

Does he have a concussion or has Britt just corrupted him too? I can relate to this team/season driving someone to drink, and hangovers and concussions can present similar symptoms.

There was one play where he hit the turf hard and was a bit rocky getting up.
He shook it off and went one playing.
I thought he had gotten the wind knocked out of him.

10 years ago the Medical staff would have given him a few aspirin,
the D Linemen would have told him to pull up his big boy pants and Greg Williams would have walked away chuckling.
They don't mess around now... minor and he'll easily be released from protocol and back by the Detroit game.

Flip side of Joe "Superman" Thomas. Is he going to get some game time for us sandwiched between injuries? AND Kizer again. And London.

Yep - and I see some saying that this is whossifying the NFL but man you only have to do a little research on the brain trauma ex players suffer and what it has done to their lives to think this is the right move even when it hurts and it's our best defensive player.
