James Dolan? Dan Snyder? Fred Wilpon? What's the criteria?
This should be the "Donald Sterling Memorial Award."
(Somehow Donald Sterling is still alive, but we should still dishonor his name.)

He may be the worst in the history of sports ... That is a major stretch. Donald Sterling has that locked up forever. He literally used to heckle his own players during games. . . and that's not even the worst thing he did!

I believe Mr. Haslam wants to win as much as any owner. It's his first time being an owner and he took over a tough situation. I believe he just needs to hire a good football guy to help out. It's nothing to be ashamed about if your not sure about something or don't know and ask for help. In the long run it will make us a better franchise.

Owners are overrated.
To me, the bad ones are the ones who don't spend money, or insert themself in the day to day operations.
Haslam isn't cheap and he doesn't micromanage.

Yes, I agree he wants to win, but when you invest Billions in something and you don't know what you are doing, you need to get others to run it and butt out.

Exactly my contention. If you don't know be man enough and just say it. Hey, we needed someone that can make the tough personnel decisions. People will respect you more for it.

Yeah, he fell for Manziel's "lets wreck the league together" phone call and over ruled scouts and the GM to take him. Bring back Lerner, and I didn't like him either.

I don't have much good to say about him
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Mr. Haslam should not be making personnel decisions. I'm sure he is a very educated and intelligent man but he doesn't know everything; no one does. If you don't know you find someone that does. JMO

Jimmy Haslam says homeless man convinced him to 'draft Manziel' Browns owner Jimmy Haslam says a homeless man convinced him to draft Johnny Manziel. May 9, 2014 link On Thursday night, the Browns were big winners during Round 1 of the 2014 NFL Draft. New GM Ray Farmer bounced all over the board, picking up cornerback Justin Gilbert, an extra 2015 first-round pick and finally quarterback Johnny Manziel. It probably wasn't a spur of the moment decision because Manziel fell. In fact, it almost definitely wasn't. And if you believe what owner Jimmy Haslam told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio, they made the move because a homeless man told Haslam to "draft Manziel." This would be the most Browns thing ever, quite frankly. "Here in Cleveland, every where I go people know me," Paolantonio reported Haslam said. "And I was out to dinner recently and a homeless person was out on the street, looked up at me and said 'Draft Manziel.'" It's a great nugget and piece of reporting from Sal Pal, even if it's almost unfathomable to think it's actually true. Haslam is a billionaire. He shouldn't be taking advice from homeless dudes, even if it's "just" about football. No offense to homeless dudes. It's also possible Haslam's so rich he actually thinks "normal" people are homeless. I tend to think of him as a down-to-earth fella (more so than other billionaires) but maybe not. Maybe it was just someone who looks more homeless than a billionaire.

What does everyone think? Are there owners that are worst than Haslam? I think having the potential worst coach in NFL history makes him look even worse. The thing I hate about Jimmy and Dee is that they think our President is divisive. You have to be brainwashed to believe that crap. I think they really want to win for this great fan base but it won't be with Hue or this FO...

Haslam isn't cheap and he doesn't micromanage. He just keeps hiring the wrong people. Correct. The most important job he has is to hire the right people. To that extent, he's been an abject failure and the proof is in the pudding. IF there is another search for an entire new regime...he should remove himself from the process and allow someone such as a Parcells, Ron Wolf (I'm just using these names, but someone with a proven successful and winning history) to hire and put the people in place to run the organization. The thought of Haslam conducting another regime search inspires as little confidence as the notion that Sashi and Co. will actually be able to identify a franchise QB.

Funny to me how people are upset over who Haslam has hired. At each seasons end, there is a short list of HC candidates that the major networks and esteemed football guys deem as good coaches, and each time he has selected one of those guys.. not to mention the selection is slim as most know they will be committing career suicide by taking on the position, so most don't even consider Cleveland as an option. Haslam has hired someone who was respected in the league, and who were ready for the opportunity. It just hasn't worked out.

Haslam isn't cheap and he doesn't micromanage. He took over in 2102 .. cleaned house after the year to bring in hs people ... no problem there .. it happens ... In 2013 he hired and fired chud and cleared out the FO ... In 2014 he hires Pett and Farmer .. in 2015 he clears them out ... farmer may have even earned the boot in 14 ... its all a whirlwind since this clown took over .. So in his first 3 years (u don’t count 12 as a year as an owner for u have to add clearing that crew out to his total .. ) ... So in his first three years he went through 2 REGIMES HE HIRED ... Then in 16 he hires Hue and Sashi ... if he does as Noah’s customers want he’ll clear them out this year ... That would mean we’d be heading into 2018 with this jokes 4TH REGIME in 6 years .... That basically an entirely new org every 18 months ... We have no clue weather he micro manages or not ... but he sure as HELL DOESN’T GIVE ANYONE ENOUGH TIME ... Were the laughing stock of the nfl for a reason ... and it stats with the dude u say doesn’t meddle ... Come on man .. this guys a clown ... He has to let this plan have at minimum one more year .... he can’t let his TEMPER screw this up again ...

He's made a few hundred million on the team so far, so, as a business owner, he's pretty smart.

You know, I look all around the league and I see ex-Browns playing it up with other teams. They do well.
That makes me realize we seem to pick good players over the years but we never seem to pick any GREAT players, you know, game changers.
That is a weakness we need to address.

I think it an indictment of how many regimes we have had and how each new regime gets rid of a bunch of the players on the roster and keeps the guys they draft of acquire.

He had experience being a minority owner in the Steelers. We keep going from one snake oil quick fix to another. Need to stick with this another year...then we can blow it up if there isn't vast improvement.

Exactly. And we change FO personnel and coaches more than any other team.
And the geniuses on this board want to fire more people.

The madness never ends. Agreed. Firing people is not a way to builda culture based on accountability. it's a way out of a losing culture.

He has to let this plan have at minimum one more year .... he can’t let his TEMPER screw this up again ... With his credibility at an all time low, this might be a good time for Jimmy to pull a rabbit out of his hat.
If he reached out to Peyton Manning to help run his franchise, it might help all involved in the rebuild, buying Sashi, Depodesta and Berry more time.
I would rather see the Haslam improve upon the present setup than blow it up.
