Yeah, I'm beginning to think the Pats, at his request, didn't want our 2nd and additional picks.

I'm speechless.

On the positive side it looks like our chances of getting the #1 overall pick again just went up.

I think that was farmer who passed on Kirk in the draft!! This regime and their ego won't even look at Cousins.

This just doesn't make any sense. I can only imagine some kind of backroom deal would lead the patriots to give up this much of a loss in draft value.

ONly thing I can think of is that JG was going to refuse to sign extensions to block being traded here.

Just seems extremely unfair.

I'm with you.

I'm sure Garrapolo asked not to come here.

That makes me feel even worse.

cousins was a 4th round pick. sorry but when you're talking about drafting QB's, you can't place 4th rounders and higher on teams.

by that logic, every FO in the league should've been fired for passing up on 6th round QB Tom Brady.

If I'm Jimmy G I would have been in Bill's ear constantly:

"No offense coach, but I want to play. Please honor that wish."

"But please don't send me to Cleveland."

That just means we end up with that head case Rosen because Sam says screw going to Cleveland and stays in college another year to avoid being drafted by us.

There is no silver lining.

Bill wouldn't turn down a better offer just to make JG smile.

We most likely either weren't aware or weren't interested.

If so sign Hoyer and drop Hogan or Kessler.

49ers just released Hoyer. Pats signing Hoyer could be a possibility. He's been there before.

Is there any proof that Jimmy G said he didn't want to play here?

Or, is it that our FO just got outmaneuvered again?

I'm speculating on the part that he didn't want to play here.

But the Browns had more to offer.

Could be they got outbid or weren't interested. But it wouldn't surprise me to read a report that he didn't want to come here.

I don't think there could be any other explanation when we previously offered a first round pick and he gets traded instead of a 2nd round pick.

Even if he's not, it's only a second round pick. The reward far outweighs the risk in this scenario.

I think it is more likely that we offered something last year, but that SF kept at it this year and we did not.

I seriously doubt that BB would take less compensation to make JG happy.

This is incorrect. The Browns never offered a 1st round pick.

Whatever the reason it comes back to gross negligence on the FO part.

I do not trust them having another draft.

This is going to be a PR nightmare for the Browns over the coming days. Something is going to happen.
