Man sup with so many players going down in practice?

I really like him so that sucks.

In other news, looks like we might be able to have two top 10 picks in next years draft

Report: Texans fear Deshaun Watson suffered torn ACL at practice today

Posted by Michael David Smith on November 2, 2017, 4:56 PM EDT

In a devastating piece of news for the Houston Texans and the NFL as a whole, the league’s brightest young star has apparently suffered a season-ending knee injury at practice today.

The Texans fear Deshaun Watson suffered a torn ACL and are waiting on an MRI to confirm the diagnosis, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Watson has been the best rookie in the league this year and potentially even and MVP candidate. He has turned a moribund Texans offense into the highest-scoring offense in the league, and he’s done it in thrilling fashion, making highlight-reel plays with his arm and his legs.

And now that incredible rookie year may all be over. We may not see Watson on the field again until the 2018 season.

It's a risk that you take with running QB's.

I feel bad for the kid, but this does help the Browns.

Their fan base just won the world series.. get over it. tongue

Seriously, I feel bad for the kid, he was on pace to set some serious rookie records and had that team running well. This sucks.

So Watson was injured in practice running/scrambling around?

Non-contact injury is what was on the radio. So, maybe.

According to Shefty, running a normal drill read option play.. he just buckled and went down.

Deshaun Watson - QB - Texans

ESPN's Adam Schefter and the Houston Chronicle confirm Deshaun Watson tore his ACL in Thursday's practice, and will undergo season-ending surgery.

As are most, I imagine... I'm torn.

Sucks to hear anybody go down. Double-sucks when that person is a young guy tearing up the league like he was.

But, Houston's picks are looking great again. Man, I think that team overtook Baltimore as the one most decimated by injuries.

Just goes to show how fickle the game of football can be... You're a rookie QB with ??? about how you're going to do in the big leagues, you start taking the league by storm, and then go down with a major injury.

Crazy...

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

The league can ill-afford to lose any (rising) star. However, this should raise our (their) draft pick. The silver lining...

Colin Kaepernick - QB - Free Agent

Howard Balzer reports Texans owner Bob McNair has "signed off" on working out Colin Kaepernick following Deshaun Waton's season-ending knee injury.

Although probably an unknown name to many Rotoworld readers, Balzer has long been plugged into NFL circles. Ignoring all the politics — literal and figurative — Kaepernick would be a no-brainer addition for the Texans. Tom Savage arguably isn't good enough to even be on a 53-man roster. He plays the game of football at a glacial pace. There's no question Kap's play was in steady decline for the 49ers, but he'd also give the Texans an infinitely better shot at winning than Savage. Considering what a flashpoint Kap has become, it's not as simple as just football, but on paper, it would make the Texans considerably better, and keep their playoff hopes alive in the soft AFC South.

rofl ....

This is one crazy ass season ...

McNair is doing this to try and appease his team after his dumb ass comment ...

Its come full circle ... he’s letting the inmates run the the prison .... *LOL* ...

I actually want them to sign him ... LOVE TO SEE THE REACTION ...

That's really bad if it's the ACL he had previously torn. He played on a torn ACL and there was some concern pre-draft that it would leave him more susceptible to re-injury. Of course, the more you injury something, the worse it gets.

I feel bad for the kid, but I can't pretend it isn't infinitely helpful for us. We've got their first and second round pick, they just lost him, and they also traded their LT.

They're currently 3-4, they might not win a whole lot.

I'm hearing ACL tear is the same knee he tore before. Assuming that's true, does any team that passed on him <cough cough> get bonus points for maybe staying away from him due to injury concerns?

And also, if this is his 2nd tear of the same knee, do we have to worry about him being the next RG3? A knee can only take so much abuse.

You all know, had we drafted him, he would have probably tore the knee sooner and we'd be a whole different world of sadness that we found "the guy" and then Lucy finds a new way to pull the football away from us.

That is one of the things that scared me from Watson. His knees are frail.

I wish him well.

This is awful and I don't wish injury on any player other than tiny.

That being said, this might work out pretty good for us. We have their first and second round picks next year. Every game they lose gets us two better picks. We sure could use them.

I hope the young man heals quickly and next year goes back to kicking ass. He deserves success. You can tell he put in the work. In the meantime, I hope Houston doesn't win another game.

I agree. I don't like it that he is hurt, but it's not like we haven't faced bad breaks. I hope they lose out.

Deshaun Watson listed as limited in Texans practice

Watson’s knee is listed as the reason why he was a limited participant and he was not listed at all on the Wednesday report.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports it’s a “sore knee,” but the Texans haven’t made any public comment about the issue at this point.

WOW
Too bad for Watson
Too bad it is his same knee as prior
That is the risk with a running QB, just ups the chance at getting a season ending injury.

Will be fascinating to see if they sign Kap.

I'm now hoping for 2 top ten picks, they've had so many injuries, wins will be hard to come by.

Guess dude was joking about Kap ...

Colin Kaepernick - QB - Free Agent

NFL insider Howard Balzer was apparently joking when he "reported" the Texans were willing to work out free agent Colin Kaepernick.

We really wish we had not passed this one along, but there was zero reason to believe a professional NFL lifer like Balzer was "joking," especially considering the straightforward tone of his tweet. We have sourced Balzer in the past, but will not do so going forward. Kap was and is a free agent who seems nowhere close to getting an NFL workout. His collusion lawsuit against the NFL is still moving forward.

I think a team that needs Kap would avoid him at all cost because of the backlash and consequences of signing him. Especially in the profit realm.

Fairly mixed... They think he's screwed around with the offense a lot with fumbling qbs over the last few years... This year he was getting more love thanks to Watson... Many right now are questioning vrabel as a defensive coordinator... Defense took a step back before the injuries...

Overall I think OB is safe for another year or two depending on how fast Watson gets back...he makes a ton of bonehead moves though... Poor time management at times and his knee jerk rotating QBs the last several years has been awful to see up close... Same thing hue is doing now...

I didn't want the Browns to draft Watson because I thought he had accuracy issues.

However, living in SC, I always heard what an outstanding person he was. No one says a bad thing about him. Great freaking kid.

And I was watching his game last week vs Seattle. What a cool customer. He was smiling during the most intense times of the game. He was the vet on the offense and he is a freaking rookie. I can't begin to explain how impressed I was by his demeanor.

I think our fans who mentioned his injury as a positive for us are despicable. It's getting harder and harder to root for the Browns.

I've got mixed feelings... Think he's an average coach...don't like what he did at PSU... But have liked some of the things he's done with special needs kids...

Texans ar basically done this year... Their offense was carrying them and it was all Watson... I wouldn't be surprised if they won only two more games this year,,,

DIDNT KNOW THAT ABOUT ooops ... sorry about that ...

Didn’t that about the special needs kids ... that’s GREAT ... for me, it still doesn’t make up for what he did to PSU ... that was just sellfish ...

I’m like u one his coaching .. seen some good and bad ... he definetly has/had a bad relationship with the GM ... from what I understand he didn’t want BO at all .. that was a huge point of contention there ... u know anything about that .. was it just BS from the media or was their some truth to it ..

U made a great point about their D i didn’t comment on .

Even before the 3 HUGE injuries ... they were not playing well .. i was really stunned ... once they suffered the 3 injuries ... they were done ...

See how that works.

All I know is that I just lost a lot of respect for you. I get that you probably don't care.......and I don't care, either.

That's sports. Do you think many really care Joe got hurt?

It is what it is....it's about winning games. It's a business.

If Watson getting hurt helps us, I am not saying I am happy about it, but I am not going to say I am sad about it.....tough break for the kid.
