I don't want to mess with drafting a QB any more. Its clearly beyond our FO's skill set. Just kick the can down the road for 5-6 years; throw a Brinks Truck at Kirk Cousins. Draft a WR, RB (Barkley), and a developmental LT with first 3 picks, and then go DB and LB the rest of the way. The losing has to stop.

Perhaps but not out of my keyboard. I always liked Watson's accuracy and composure. I thought his running accentuated his passing whereas Jackson seems to always have a bad game if you can stop his running.

The only question I had about Watson was his arm strength. But I have that about pretty much every prospect (including Trubisky though no Mahomes). I have no idea how arm strength is evaluated. I think it is something that needs to be seen in person and not on TV.

I would love to get a solid veteran to be our Qb. My pipe dream would be Alex Smith but I would be very happy with Cousins. Heck even AJ McCarren (though I know a lot of you guys don't like him).

OK with two of those. If we draft a rookie again, I want a veteran in as well. The FO should go do something else when we pick these, and our picker better know a bunch about QB's!

We do not need an elite, league-killing, brute-beast at QB. We don't have to pass on many.

Committing to youth is also delaying progress; no Kizer project, please. Not sure he will ever be ready.

At this point I'd rather have Saquon Barkley then Luke Falk. There's not yet a QB I want at #1 overall.

My opinion of how the college QBs are looking/have looked (consistency is key):

Tier 1:
Josh Rosen
Sam Darnold
Lamar Jackson

All of them are franchise QBs imo. They're all game changers with great arms.

Tier 2:
Clayton Thorson (Northwestern)
Mason Rudolph (Ok St)
Nick Fitzgerald (Mississippi St. Jr.)
Riley Ferguson (Memphis)
Josh Allen

These are some guys who could push into starting QBs in this league imo, but it'll take a lot of work.

Tier 3:
Baker Mayfield
Luke Falk
Nic Shimonek (Texas Tech)
Kenny Hill (TCU)

I have little faith. Could be Charlie Frye level (decent backup QB)

My thinking is similar to this, although I might bump Baker Mayfield to tier two.

I'm just not sure how much Lamar Jackson will translate in terms of throwing/accuracy ... but I do notice he's improved this season.

His accuracy scares me a bit, but I think it's rather mechanical and can be fixed. A lot of his passes sail when he feels inside pressure and doesn't bring his right leg all the way forward. If he has a clean pocket, some of the throws he can make are Rodgers-esque.

Unless a college qb plays in the almost extinct pro-style offense, it's almost impossible to truly evaluate him.

I mean, we can analyze his measurables, his athleticism, his arm strength, his pocket presence, accuracy, etc..........but, we have absolutely no idea if the guy can make post-snap reads and it is even harder to know if he can go through them quickly.

And if a qb can't make those post-snap reads quickly enough, he'll never be good in the NFL.

It's really, really hard to evaluate these college qbs [and even many offensive linemen] these days.

Draft a guy high, and then draft a guy low and/or bring in the best of the FA class. The lists (as of now) of both FA and draft actually look pretty good. It's not like that very often.

Josh Rosen has played in a pro style offense the last two years (last year his offensive coordinator Kennedy Polamalu and this year it is Jedd Fisch, both are longtime coaches) after playing in the spread his freshman year.

Not really trying to start an argument, but, if we're going to have to explain why we post everything we post, things could get.... weird...er.

How do you have the college QBs ranked so far? Even if it is only loosely/cursory.

If we draft a qb, I am pretty sure it will be Jackson. Brown's have spent a lot of time and effort researching everything Lamar. I still think Rudolph is the best QB in this draft but Lamar Jackson has this coaching staff, fo and scouts drooling.

Cause lamar jackson is dynamic.

draft him with our 1st pick and don't look back.

He's such a playmaker though. He's quicker than Vick and has a better arm. Would never want him to play if we were up by 15 though. Between him and Rosen and I'm torn on who is the best of this class (I'm assuming Darnold doesn't come out).

Lamar Jackson will probably go in the 3rd round and be a wr/slot/QB type player IMO ... I don't see him being able to be strictly a QB

He’s not either of them ... i haven’t seen a ton of him ... i will when ever bonefish is ready ... but hes much better than either of them from the little i’ve seen of him so far ... he APPEARS to be more accurate than RG3 was ...

He is however a TWIG that best case will get worn down very easy or snapped in 1/2 like the twig he is ...

Lamar is definitely a twig. But so was Vick.

The guy is a talented passer and is electric as a runner.

I think I would go Rosen, Jackson, Mayfield.

I am still Rosen, Darnold, and Allen. Do not want any other QB. Lamar Jackson is not an NFL QB. Could be an electric WR/KR though.

Seen you mention him a few times. Hes pretty decent. Not a franchise QB. Not even close to the top 3-4 of this class.

He's a redshirt junior, is there any chance he does the whole graduate transfer thing and go to a school that would allow him to have more success?

My guess is that he still declares for the draft (with hindsight he should have last year).

So draftbreakdown is charging people $2 a month to have access to their site and video library, but doesn't that violate the fair use policy on Youtube? They were already in the gray area of showing condensed games for an educational purpose, but charging money to watch games that they don't have the rights for is a step too far. I wonder if another company will take its place.
