Report: Some feel Hue Jackson could end up with Bengals
A subplot emerged in the failed trade attempt.

Josh Edwards - 4 hours ago

https://247sports.com/nfl/cleveland-brow...rowns-110233009

While engaged in trade discussions with the Cincinnati Bengals, some within the Cleveland Browns organization considered that head coach Hue Jackson could end up back in Cincinnati according to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora.

The Bengals were trying to pull second and third round picks from Cleveland. A similar situation occurred when Jackson was the head coach of the Oakland Raiders. He acquired quarterback Carson Palmer from the Bengals in exchange for two first-round picks then he left for Cincinnati.

Jackson has a long-standing relationship with Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis. A reunion in Cincinnati would not be surprising if Cleveland did ultimately part ways with the coach. The conflicting scenario is that Lewis, himself, might be on the hot seat. Over the past two seasons, his team has gone 9-14-1. In 15 seasons, Lewis has not led the Bengals to a post-season victory.

Lewis and Jackson coached together with the Washington Redskins in 2002. Jackson then joined Lewis' Bengals for four seasons from 2012-2015.

Nah.

Just win here. based on that reporter's . . .well, what exactly. Slow week; what prompted this to get sensationalizes. Has to be his love affair with the Browns, right?

It would be surprising if Marvin Lewis is even back in Cincinnati next year.

His contract expires at the end of this year.

Lane Adkins from the OBR has been hinting at this basically since Hue Jackson got hired.

Well, if Lacanfora is as accurate as you say, it must be true.

So he tried to steal a couple of picks from us before heading back to the bengals.

No wonder we haven't won, he wanted better picks.

Is that the theory?

I was responding to peen's post. I could be wrong but I thought he was suggesting hue might have been under-handed.

Actually vers, he hasn't been. Peen has stated he's willing to give him until mid 2018. Lately the old southern hanging judge has been more critical of hue - perhaps understandably (1-23) - but peen iirc has been patient. For him. wink

The rumour of Hue going to Cincinnati has been around since we signed him. If I recall, the rumour was that the Bengals promised Jackson he would succeed Marvin Lewis, but Jackson wanted to take the 'now' opportunity while it was there, and he also liked the allure of being the man who returned the Browns to glory.

It wouldn't shock me. They had their best seasons with Jackson at the helm of the offense. I would think they'd happily welcome him back.

Which, frankly, scares me. People can be mad at Hue Jackson now, but if he returned to the Bengals and resumed spanking the Browns like wayward little sons, the "fire Jackson" crowd would very quickly become "Browns screwed this up again, we should have had continuity" crowd - which, additional bet - quickly becomes reason to fire everyone hired in 2018.

Gotta love it.

Maybe we could trade Hue to the bengals for their 2018 and 2019 2nd round picks.

According to Jason La Canfora

The Nfl will have a draft in 2018, They will play a regular season, and some teams will win and some will lose. After that they will have playoff games, and even a Superbowl.

Now some posters around here will jump all over Jason's jock and claim all of his stories are true. notallthere

A few thoughts:

JLC is a hack. A PROVEN liar. What he says doesn't mean much. The posters who align themselves with JLC are the same ones who have their own agendas.

However, I wouldn't put it past Hue to concoct something like this. For crying out loud the guy had his daughter sending tweets about the Browns FO. On a lowness scale, that's about as low as it gets.

If I were Jimmy Haslam III, when Cincy decides not to renew Lewis and Hue asks Jimmy for his release so he can be the Bengals next HC, I take less than 1 second to grant it.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Actually the story is 100% true. Some people have said these things. He makes no claims that these things are true only that people are speculating these things. More than one poster have stated these rumors aren't new.

Now granted, it's actually a non story. There's no "there, there". He's actually saying these are some rumors he's heard.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

J/c:

If Hue gets fired I do believe he will go back to the Bengals. However, I don't believe Hue wanted the trade with that theory in mind.

Great! After reading that article.

Ok. We've got an owner, whom I'm not a "hundred" percent sure doesn't feel love for the steelers, who he used to be part owner of.

and this pretty much says

We've got a Head Coach, who secretly feels love for the Bengals.

only only only only ONLY! in Cleveland!

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Yep, every story that JLC writes is a lie. The story about Shanny wanting out was a lie. The story of the rift between Pet and Farmer was a lie. The story about FO guys texting the sidelines was a lie. The story about the Browns trying to trade Haden was a lie. The story about a rift between the current FO and coaching staff was a lie.

And the best part is we have posters saying any poster who believes any of his stories has an agenda. rofl

Now, cue the name calling from several posters.

@JasonLaCanfora: I'd expect Vic Fangio and Ed Donatell to agree to join the Skins coaching staff by Tues AM. Would be very surprised if they did not

*Fangio signs with Bears the next morning*

@JasonLaCanfora: However, I'd be pretty shocked to see an Adam Gase reunion with former DEN coach Fox (CHI)

*Gase signs with Bears two days later*

@JasonLaCanfora: Marshawn Lynch has a new deal in place with the Seahawks according to league sources.

Lynch's agent:
@DHendrickson41: Contrary to reports there is no marshawn lynch deal.

I also feel compelled to say this every time JLC is mentioned.

His best friend is Mike Lombardi (Like a poor man's Hue Jackson/Mike Sliver ahhaha) and JLC has been the most hateful, spiteful f$(%*ead towards the Browns since we booted Lombardi. He loves to stir the pot when it comes to the Browns and enjoys doing everything possible to paint the Browns in a negative light, get the fan base calling for blood and watching as every move we make takes yet another negative turn.

It isn't even just that he's making crap up: The worst part is that there is a legitimate malicious intent behind it. That's what drives me insane.

I'm with you 100%, he is an asshat.
