Hehehe a little humor from this morning trying to get me tickets for the home opener. I hope you enjoy.

Well there I was sitting at the computer credit card in hand ready to buy some home opener tickets. I signed up for Ticketmaster and was hitting refresh every few seconds at the system time of 10:00. This would be the first year I would buy the tickets myself and a sense of satisfaction came over me as I saw the Find Tickets webpage pop up just after I hit the refresh button. I quickly selected the Cleveland Browns vs. Pit. best availible for 4 tickets and entered the validation code. The little search doohickey said my wait time was less than 1 minute so I happily thought "oh yeah home opener for me" My happiness soon turned to frustration as I saw the next screen say no availible tickets were found.

Frustrated but not deterred I went back to the drawing board and entered in 2 tickets for the same game best availible. The search was successful!!! I found myself smiling as I quickly selected the tickets that popped up. At the next screen I selected the way I would like to receive my tickets. My smile that was imparted on my face quickly turned to a panic mode as I saw that the only credit card accepted was Visa and here I was with a Mastercard in my hand. Alas my tickets were gobbled up by hopefully a Browns fan and not a Steelers fan but my hopes and dreams of attending a home opener will have to wait for another year.

Visa don't leave home without it.

Never ever do it by online, always talk to a live person.

And you know what really irks me? Those damn automated services that dont tell you anything and don't give you what you need.

But yes, I did get tickets for my dad and I.

Can't wait to whip those bungles in the second week.

My section is 536, row 20. I'm happy right now. Just so glad and excited football season is coming our way again!

That is really weird??? only Visa? wha the?

Since Visa is the only charge method the Browns have used for years....and it is well publicized, I don't understand the shock and dismay.

When I go into a restaurant for the first time, I make certain of the payment methods before I order up bottles of wine and 4 steak dinners.

It's called planning.

Yeah, this has been going on for some time. I think there was a thread or part of a ticket thread giving a reminder to those who forgot or never had tried before that Visa is the only card you can use.

I got mine on the presale, so I slept in this morning. Detroit, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Miami.

I understood the confusion and people being ticked when it initially happened but, it has been years now.

Ohh man, that stinks. I am tired of this whole Visa crap

Not everyone has tried to get tickets every year so maybe he didn't know. Almost every place accepts both Visa or MC. It's rare to go to a store or restaurant and they take only one.

I agree.

I am starting to feel like Tomfran did about when tickets go on sale.

Give the poor guy a break he just had his heart out. but he gets "ya should have known". sorry to hear that buddy. i remember hearing about that a few times but use visa anyway so thats why why i havent forgot. so i feel for the guy. plus one reason he might not know is because he is not on here all the time with thousands of posts. i just hope he gets a ticket somehow.

I hope he gets his tickets too.

I am sure there are people with no posts, who never read the board who know that VISA is the card you need.

This isn't the strategic air command where information is kept behind locked doors.

But I admit....I am a planner. Always have been and understand some people aren't.

Not to mention he started a thread a few days ago with a ticket question.....and I clearly told him in the 3rd post on the thread that Visa was the only card taken.

More I think about it...the guy is full of crap.

If he read his own posts he would have had the information......

Stub Hub still has tickets for the opener. You pay thru the nose but you can still get them.

My wife had all kinds of trouble too. She got through, put in the varification code and it wouldn't take it. This happened over and over. We got shut out of the Steelers game and got through for tickets for the Bengals but I'm not sitting in row 32. The steps kill mt back. We did get tickets in the family section row 11 for the miami game.

I used to have the up most respect for some of the poster on this board. Yes I don't post much as you can see by my pitiful post count but to get blasted as badly as I did by a guy on here I have never met in my life but that I have come to respect as being a decent guy by reading his posts I can say what the hell?

More I think about it...the guy is full of crap. This had to be my favorite part thank you.

You know maybe the excitement of finding out my wife is pregnant or maybe the fact that I dont have all the time in the world to browse through post (yes even post that I started) makes me guilty of not planning things out carefully enough.

I do know that I came to this board because of the atmosphere and the fun loving attitude that I thought exsisted here but maybe I should take a hike and go find a different board to exsist on.

And for the record I wasn't whining and complainig as much as I was trying to bring some humor to the situation and to get told I am full of crap well thanks, thanks alot you made my day.

Oh and to the people who said give the man a break thank you this had been my first attempt at buying tickets as I clearly had put in my original post Quote " This would be the first year I would buy the tickets myself " I am not a veteran of buying tickets and probably will just sit home and watch the games with my dad and have just as much fun.

Eh, don't worry about it....some of us just think we'e perfect. I know I am...well, except the one time I didn't have a Visa to buy Browns tickets. Seriously, that's how most of us learned about it, too. At least that's how I learned about it. Luckily my debit card has a Visa logo.

Man that's tough. Same thing happened to me a couple of years ago. Check out stub hub and you should see plenty of tickets available for any game you want to go to. Congrats on the baby btw.

So why start a thread asking questions of posters if you aren't even going to read replies 3-4 deep??

Anyway....congrats to you and the Mrs.

Interesting.. I was on the presale at 10:01 Thursday and spun up 3 BOX (section 310) 30 yard liners in row 6 for the opener. I had an option for Visa OR AMEX, which I used.... The tickets are about to be for sale I think as I really wanted 4 together. Pricey buggers too.
