That's my point, however. It was all that rosy. They promised a 40-0 beat down, and we had them crapping their pants until our rookie QB crapped his and fumbled twice. We were in that thing the whole way through.

At the end of the day, our rookie QB with no receivers and a banged up OL put up 200 yards and 1 TD. Sure, he had two picks and three fumbles, but we expect that from young quarterbacks.

Again - Ben Roethlisberger, Andy Dalton and Joe Flacco all played significantly worse against the Jags. Ben threw 5 picks and Flacco had 2 ints and 28 yards of offense. Yes, 28 yards. The Jags beat up the AFC North, but we're the team that put up the best fight.

Yet we've been sold this concept that there is no moral victories. That no positive can be derived from loss. That no progress can shimmer through an overall negative performance. It's nonsense.

This team is going to kick ass next year unless we do something stupid. If Jimmy decides to deny the obvious positives within understandable struggles, he's going to cripple what is rightfully a bright future.

Our defense would have won that game if we had just an average offense. But we could say that for most games this year.

One drive. We needed one stinking drive and they couldn't do it. In my view, that tells me a lot about Kizer as our starting QB going forward. Rosen in '18.

Just atrocious. ANY scores and we might have won with FGs or help. We not only gave it away repeatedly, but into short fields. I would hate to be playing defense with this kid that Hue insists on. Our D has shaped up against the run.

The game plan must account for who will carry Kizer and his mistakes. Seems there will be about five of them. Gipson didn't beat us. Still rather talk.

A QB must be protected by his offensive line..protect your rookie QB should be the first priority to produce a successful passing attack.

btw...did Gipson even play. Guy did absolutely nothing the entire game to make us miss him.

Way to show up Gipson.

Actually this was the most fired up I saw our team. We really wanted this.

Man we should have one this one!

Well, I know the defense was fired up. I really didn't get that feeling from the offense.

I believe Gipson was credited with 3 tackles and 1 assist. I only recall his name being mentioned once though...

Comparing our game to what the other established offenses/QBs did against the Jags is a fair argument. As ugly as our offense was, we did at least as good or better than the others in our division. That's noteworthy.

Our defense showed up bigtime. They're not good enough to carry this atrocious offense to victory, but they're pretty darn good.

Yeah, we lost. At the end of the day there are no moral victories. But ignoring the good in a loss only hinders the learning process.

4. Tashaun Gipson: The Browns did not aggressively pursue Gipson and basically let him walk. He signed a five-year deal with the Jaguars worth $35.5 million, including a $12 million signing bonus. Incentives push it to $36 million.

Nathan Zegura on CBD just said again that the Browns offered Gipson a better contract in 2014 and again in 2015 than the one he signed with Jacksonville. Not sure what's true and what isn't, but it really seems like we didn't lowball Gipson at all.

I'm fairly sure there's "that's what she said" joke in there.

I don't expect you to be happy. I sure as hell am not. Is winning at least 8 a year to much to ask for..... nope. Is crying about it like a little girl when it doesn't happen helping anything but to sooth your battered ego .... nope.

What's sad too is that when the Browns do win, this board will be like it was a Super Bowl win.

"Oh yeah, the Browns are really turning things around."

I bet I could make a collage of 100 posts made during this season that would lead an uninformed reader to believe the Browns were undefeated.

Well, it's only natural.

Still sad. Were so used to the losing.

We deserve much more.

If you want to go back just a little further the the Browns are now 4-43 in their last 47 games. The worst 47 game streak in the history of the NFL.

Looks like there is petition going around to have this distinction officially recognized.

I really don't have issues with players swapping jerseys. A bad look on this one for Crow, however, given Gipson's comments.

Crow: Hey man, you hurt my feelings with what you said.

Gibson: Aw man, I was just playin yo.

Crow: S'alright T, I know we suck.

Gipson: Check it yo, we both sucked extra bad tday. We should swap jerseys.

I don't care if they swapped jerseys. I do care when a player - especially an ex-player of the Browns, trashes my team when they're already down.

Good thing Gipson doesn't play hockey. Say that about an opponent before a game and you get some attention when they drop the puck.

You are pissed about what he said. That's fine.

I am not pissed about what he said, but I am pissed that Sashi alienated him and he left. I hope that is fine?

Fact or conjecture? Or now that you're on the fire Sashi bandwagon, simply driven by your agenda?

As I understand it - Sashi wasn't in control of much when Gipson left. On top of that I've seen it reported and heard more than once on 850 am that the Browns offered Gipson a bigger contract than the one he took with the Jags. . . . now the Browns organization and dysfunction might have driven Gipson running out of town as fast as he could - but to lay that on Sashi??? You'd need a link for that one.

Of course - you don't have a link, but I bet you have a cute little one liner that has nothing at all to do with football. rofl

It would be fine if it were true. Not saying they were best buds, but if Sashi offered Gipson a better contract than Jacksonville, how did he alienate him?
