You are very fortunate to be able to afford spending thousands and thousands of dollars on medical expenses for your rescue cat. Even against the medical advice of your veterinarian. Veterinarians have a profound appreciation and love for animals. Much more so than pet owners. They’ve dedicated their lives to help animals. When they advice that an animal be put down, they do so because it truly is in the best interest of the animal to avoid unnecessary suffering. Anyway. Approximately one million humans starve to death annually. That’s 3,000 people every day. Every single day. Three thousand people will starve to death today and again tomorrow and the day after that. Many are children who didn’t ask for or deserve this horrible death. Fortunately, you can save many of these children's lives. Your $500 donation today will save 100 children’s lives tomorrow. And your regular periodic donations will save even more lives. I can tell from your other posts that you’re highly compassionate and would sacrifice anything to help this suffering. Please keep us informed how many babies you saved. You should sincerely be ashamed of your callous idiocy here, all of which stems from spite, but if you're curious, the three main charities I donate to are a Manhattan-based diaper bank that provides basic poop/sanitary needs to parents who can't afford it (we give them diapers, wipes, creams, powders etc/.) and a Tucson-based program that provides proper burial for veterans who would otherwise be buried in a potter's field (we work to give them a proper burial, uniformed 21 gun salute, etc.). The third is a food fund for Haitian children - Toussaint was always a hero, so I made sure to get bucks that way. Anyone want links to those services, send me a message. That said I want to reiterate - you've truly exposed yourself as a poison and immoral person in this thread. Seek help.

That's what happened at my grandfathers funeral. WWII vet.

Yes, that’s exactly what happened at my fathers funeral as well. Also a WWII vet. They put the shell casings in the flag as they folded it and presented it to me.

Unlike your cat story I see you conveniently left out how much you donate. Although don't bother. At this point I won't believe a word you say.

It's 3 volleys fired by 7 men. I've attended them before (sadly way less than I should).

Honestly, I assumed this would be the most innocuous thread I've ever started. Wild that some people are so dark and broken inside that "hey, I'm thankful for my pet" turned into this.

You aren't the same person I met years ago. I didn't know getting sober would make you so nasty.

He lives at my younger sister's house now, with my dad (it's my dad's dog, but I used to walk him every day). He isn't allowed to pee in their house either, but he did one time since he moved in. My 17 YO Pomeranian needed surgery to fix a hernia that was letting her guts slide into her chest cavity. It seems her stomach was pushing her lungs out of the way. That would have been at least $1500 for starters.
As a puppy that dog picked me out of the rest of the family, as she identified me as alpha. She'd sit on my chest while I was lounging on the couch, and growl at the kids when they got too close. She has specific games that she would only play with me, and she never let another grown man touch her.
Unfortunately, we had to let her go. I had no confidence she's survive the operation, as she was 17 and Poms never do well with anesthesia. I know where you are coming from.

I can't believe how septic this thread became. Our pets have always been family. You always do all you can for family. No questions asked.

I can't believe how septic this thread became. Our pets have always been family. You always do all you can for family. No questions asked. ALWAYS!!! 6 mos ago our older(4yo) mini schnauzer needed surgery to repair his hind legs. He had what is called "luxating patella's" where, at times whilst active, either lower part of his hind legs could and often would pop out of it's socket. He'd "shake it back in" and continue what he was doing which was generally rasslin with our at the time 1yo mini schnauzer. It's where, and i'm not an expert, the socket isn't formed correctly and they ream out the socket so to speak to where the ball fits and doesn't pop out. We had 1 repaired and a month and a half-ish later had the other repaired. $1,400.04 per socket and i have no problem whatsoever sleeping like a baby every night. I didn't even ask if they could round it down to $1400.00 per. Rest assured, even if my neighbors are eating "gruel" or "wayward boy stew" everynight.............my family "WILL ALWAYS" come 1st. I guess it's "Shame On Me".

PDF,
I kind of empathize with you on making it happen regarding your cat. I had a pet turtle, and I ended up giving him up to a friend who had built a little Turtle Taj Mahal in his backyard. I ended up making small talk for like 2 hours (this is so far from normal for me, I cannot even begin to explain), just so I could keep watching him swim around. I was so bent outta shape for this little turtle (not a dog or cat or something that shows it recognizes you and show affection)! Crazy how pets can work their way into your hearts.
Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that I'm happy you got that stuff worked out for your cat. How you spend your money is none of our business. You earned your money you can spend it however you like, and I will do the same. Again, I'm happy for you that you have more time to spend with your cat.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

I'm disgusted by the turns this thread has taken.
That was a helluva gamble you took on your cat, Phil; I'm glad you did and that it worked out well for you both.
Dave - that was some amazing insight!

I have 5 animals. 3 dogs, 2 cats. I have two Dogue De Bordeaux's (otherwise known as French Mastiffs - the ones from Turner and Hooch), and I have a rescue that we believe is a corgy/lab mix. The two cats are a tabby, and a black cat. I will say I despise cats. I mean really despise them. These two are ok, I leave them alone, they leave me alone.
When I bought my first mastiff, I used to tell my wife I would take his treats and rub them on the cat before feeding them to him. lol I do have him trained that he will chase the cat when I say "get the kitty".
I had a scare with him early, he had swallowed something that was blocking his bowels. They wanted 4K to go in an remove it. I said wait a couple days and if it doesn't pass, put him down. No way I was spending 4K on a dog that cost 1200. Can just get a new dog.
