I think Treggs realized what he did when Zane Gonzalez missed the field goal. I thought what Treggs did was on 2 or 3rd down though..............

1-10-CIN 20 (2:11) I.Crowell right tackle to CIN 21 for -1 yards (M.Johnson).
PENALTY on CLV-B.Treggs, Taunting, 15 yards, enforced at CIN 21

It was right after a pretty big play.

So freaking stupid.

Hue Jackson keeps cluing everyone in on us not having enough talent ("we have to play a perfect game to win"), and I'm not saying there isn't truth to that, but this team constantly commits unforced errors, from the onset. I'm so tired of that. There are better disciplined teams in college.

It was a catch and the WR was dislodged from the ball, both came down out of bounds.

if it was a catch and fumble it should have been bengals ball where it went out of bounds...

If the NFL is going to make calls that, make those calls reviewable, so the officials have a chance to get the call right.

BTW, the official with the best view of the play, did not throw the flag...that is pure BS.

So then it's a moot point since the Bengals would have had the ball at the spot it went out anyway.

it was ruled incomplete. It was caught and dislodged on his third step, IIRC.

We caught "a break",I believe. It could'be been ruled a catch & half the distance.

I think trying to avoid helmet to helmet contact and not lead with it is the only reason his helmet grazed the bottom of the receiver's facemask. If a ballcarrier is properly holding the football high and tight, where is your head supposed to go when trying to dislodge the ball? Unless the headless horseman starts playing football, a tackler's helmet is going to contact other players.

Sure breaking down and form tackling sounds lovely, but, when it's only you and a guy who runs a 4.3 motoring along the sideline and you're coming on at an angle at a dead sprint, to hit him solidly you've got to put your helmet in front of him and due to the fact that the receiver's momentum is moving forward there is inevitably going to be some contact when his body stops moving and his helmet whips forward.

You don't take your feet of the ground, don't lower your eyes You square your shoulders, use your arms and leverage on your angle and speed to tackle the receiver.

You don't throw yourself against a receiver, taking your feet from the ground, lower your eyes and raise your arms or keep them close to your body. You don't lower your shoulder on a side tackle....

This is how Peppers tackles (if you call them a tackle), not in this play but in many plays.

There are a number of ways to judge intent and how a play develops.

No player that prefers to hit instead of tackling properly should get a pass, not only they don't respect the fundamentals of the game, but they are stupid and probably have a ME first personality...

Peppers is a garbage player...Worst player in the team IMHO, messed up an easy play and still gets a pass.... only with the Browns

This team has trouble moving the ball and scoring, we were moving the ball and he sets us up with a 2nd and 25.. he should have sat for at least a couple possessions, sit him until the second half.. DO SOMETHING. Can we not live without him? Is Treggs and his 1 target, 0 catches that valuable? Sit his butt down and let him (and everybody else) know that kind of crap won't be tolerated.

Ahmen to that. I'd have been happy to see Jackson order him to the locker room. If Gordons coming back cut Treggs.
Well, seeing that Treggs is better than Louis, Higgins, britt - I would not cut him.

I agree but that's a bit like being the tallest midget in the room. Hopefully next year these guys are backups or gone. I don't care about this season anymore. Treggs was stupid and selfish on that play. The team lacks talent but emphasizing smart play reducing penalties can payoff next year.Cutting him might be extreme but if the Front Office can't replace him next year we need a new FO
