Yes, it is way too early for any of these to be anything resembling accurate (Not that they necessarily are ever that accurate)

I was just trying to get a feel for who was projected where and ran through a simulation on fanspeak. It's highly unlikely to happen, but I'd probably not know what to do with myself if it did-even if I did have to settle for Rosen at 8 with Jackson gone sooner.

I should probably try running it with a different big board rather than the default b/c I feel like the guys I got will be long gone before the spots I was able to get them.

I like Minkah a lot......not at #1, but I suppose it doesn't really matter.....Minkah and Rosen 1-2 works for me. The order doesn't really matter.

Minkah, Denzel Ward and Courtland Sutton are the only people (so far) I would even consider taking with our second first round pick. I think they'll all be elite at the next level.

The others are not any better...I went a completely different route on this one - not that we need Chubb, or not that I want him, just thinking bookend pass rushers. I know Darnold isn't likely to enter the draft by he was available. I count up to 6 first rounders depending on the site you look at...

1: R1P1 DE BRADLEY CHUBB NC STATE
8: R1P8 S MINKAH FITZPATRICK ALABAMA
33: R2P1 QB SAM DARNOLD USC

I have to laugh at all of these mock drafts... Sam Darnold lasting to the second round has about a much chance as the sun rising in the west tomorrow.

There will be no playoffs. Can’t play with who we have out there and compounding it with garbage playcalling and worse execution. We don’t have good skill players on offense period. Browns 20 - Bears 17.

Ok 1st Attempt ... I got 2 extra #1's in 2019 + our future franchise QB along with 3 top WR's and strengthened our secondary and RB positions ... I was only going to go with 2 WR's until I saw Sutton still available in the 2nd rd. (Pick #21) I couldn't resist ...

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 7: Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA (A+)
Round 1 Pick 13 (ARI): Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama (A)

Round 4 Pick 27: Kerryon Johnson, RB, Auburn (A+)
Round 5 Pick 1: Brandon Facyson, CB, Virginia Tech (A+)
Round 5 Pick 19: Tre Flowers, SS, Oklahoma State (A-)
Round 6 Pick 1: Bentley Spain, OT, North Carolina (A-)
Round 7 Pick 1: James Looney, DT, California (A-)

Your Future Picks:
2019 Round 1 Pick

Just stopping by this thread for a single comment. I hate these mock drafts. Not mock drafts in general. I love a good mock draft. But these are wack. I so often see players who are projected to go in the 1st round getting drafted in the 2nd, sometime 3rd round. It creates unrealistic expectation.

Playing cute taking a QB 8, yeah right. If you don't take the QB you want at 1, he isn't worth 8 either.

Honestly, I was more worried about Fitzpatrick not making it to 8. I think he's more of a sure thing than the QBs, and at a position we're really lacking.

Rosen was just value at 8.

I agree with people complaining about how unrealistic these drafts are. I'm not a fan of whatever board/algorithm combo this is using.

I think we package a lot of picks this year to move up and get the guys we want.. We've built the depth of our team. We can't continue to draft 10 guys each year.. We'll be forced to start cutting a lot of draft picks.

1. Josh Rosen

5. A) Minkah Fitzpatrick - DB Alabama B) Derwin James - DB FSU C) Trade down and pick up Denzel Ward or Courtland Sutton

2A) Mike Hughes - CB UCF/Josh Jackson - CB Iowa /Iman Marshall - CB USC or Deshon Elliot - FS Texas
2B) Parris Campbell/Equanimeous St. Brown
2C) Oren Burks ILB Vanderbilt

3) Marquis Haynes - DE Ole Miss

4A) LJ Scott - RB MSU/Ralph Webb - RB Vanderbilt
4B) Azeem Victor - ILB Washington/ Jake Cichy - ILB Wisconsin

That's just an idea of a mock draft. That is just where I think the players might go. I'd go further into the draft, but it gets nigh impossible to even start to predict who will fall and rise in the last 2-3 rounds before draft season starts.

2018 NFL Mock Draft WalterFootball

1). Cleveland Browns: Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA
The Browns attempted to trade for A.J. McCarron and failed because they forgot to submit the paperwork. This secretly saved them, as I discussed in the NFL Disaster Grades. Cleveland could try to obtain McCarron again, but it really depends on what the new regime will want to do.

DeShone Kizer showed promise during the preseason, but he hasn't shown many signs that he can be a viable NFL quarterback. Despite getting good protection, Kizer has made lots of mistakes and has held on to the ball too long in the pocket. He played somewhat well versus the Lions, but that was just one game. Kizer was only a second-round pick, anyway, and we saw the Panthers give up on Jimmy Clausen, another second-rounder, after one year when they selected Cam Newton first overall.

I've had Sam Darnold as the top quarterback for a while, but he has struggled so much this season that I'm wondering if he returns to USC for 2018 in an attempt to rebuild his draft stock. Lamar Jackson occupied this top spot for about a month, but I'm moving to Josh Rosen following his terrific performance against USC.

NFL coaches and owners are wary of the sort of things Rosen has discussed to the media, and his open views could hurt him. Scouts have told us that his teammates don't like him either, so that's a major strike against him. And for the cherry on top, even if his high school coach criticized him. However, Rosen has been prolific in some big games this year, so that could push him into the top spot.

7). Cleveland Browns: Da'Ron Payne, DT, Alabama
The Browns have the foundation for a great defensive front, but they need another talent next to Danny Shelton. Da'Ron Payne would certainly qualify.

Payne, a freak athlete, has a chance to be chose in the top five - I considered him to Cincinnati at No. 5 a couple of weeks ago - so he makes sense with the seventh pick.

33). Cleveland Browns: Damien Harris, RB, Alabama
The Browns could easily spend the first-overall pick on Saquon Barkley. If they don't, they'll need someone else to upgrade the disappointing Isaiah Crowell.

40). Cleveland Browns: DeShon Elliott, S, Texas
The Browns have been extremely weak against the pass this season because of some horrible safety play. They're stuck with Jabrill Peppers for a couple more years, but they also need a new starter next to him.

62). Cleveland Browns: Darius Leonard, LB, South Carolina State
Jamie Collins hasn't lived up to expectations thus far, and he's getting paid more than $10 million in each of the next couple of seasons. The Browns could decide to go healthier and cheaper.

first two rounds.

I bet you're wondering the samething I did, why O' why didn't I take the...blue pill

Here's one I like. I bought Fanspeak Premium to see if it might be a little more realistic. I don't know if that's the case (hard to imagine Ward & Sutton being there that late), but this draft would work for me:

1: R1P1 QB JOSH ROSEN UCLA

8: R1P8 S MINKAH FITZPATRICK ALABAMA

33: R2P1 WR CHRISTIAN KIRK TEXAS A&M

40: R2P8 CB DENZEL WARD OHIO STATE

61: R2P29 WR COURTLAND SUTTON SMU

65: R3P1 LB SHAUN DION HAMILTON ALABAMA

103: R4P1 RB SONY MICHEL GEORGIA

124: R4P22 DL MICHAEL HILL OHIO STATE

139: R5P1 C NICK LINDER MIAMI (FL)

163: R5P25 TE MARCUS BAUGH OHIO STATE

180: R6P1 EDGE PORTER GUSTIN USC

223: R7P1 OT IKE BOETTGER IOWA

I just ran one on fanspeak as well, just regular and not premium and used fanspeak's big board. Looks like they need to do some updating based on pretty much every other listing I've seen thus far. Don't get me wrong, I'll take 5 rounds of 1st/2nd rounders

1: R1P1 FS MINKAH FITZPATRICK ALABAMA
5: R1P5 EDGE BRADLEY CHUBB NORTH CAROLINA STATE
33: R2P1 RB DERRIUS GUICE LSU

lol, I know. I play around with the different boards to see if that makes a difference, sometimes it does. I also use random or multiple boards for the other teams to mix it up, that makes it a little more realistic. Just did one where Rosen, Barlkey & Minkah went 1, 2, 3. No way to get two of the three even with the 5th pick.

You have to use the difficult settings. Don't use the standard....it tightens things up a great deal.

You end up with this.

QB JOSH ROSEN
UCLA
5: R1P5
S DERWIN JAMES
FLORIDA STATE
33: R2P1
CB ISAIAH OLIVER
COLORADO
37: R2P5
WR CALVIN RIDLEY
ALABAMA
63: R2P31

The Browns can lock down the first pick with a loss today and a Giants win. I just hope they get the first pick somehow.

The key to the draft process for the Browns is Josh Rosen. How well does he interview and what impression does he leave on Dorsey and Hue?

You read comments like: "How much does he love the game"? "He seems to act like a privileged character". "He rubs people the wrong way".

How in the hell do you quantify that stuff?

Maybe over the next 4 months we will discover verifiable information about Rosen.

Because the first pick in the draft is his to win or lose based upon how he handles all this noise.

If the Browns score Rosen and Barkley in the first round or Darnold and Barkley I may need to be resuscitated.

It's not that I don't see value in a DB, a tackle, or wideout. It's just that getting the top quarterback and best runner would be supercharging the offense. And that is exciting.

As a fan going into next year it would make the whole pre-season a preview of what could be a real shot in the arm.

I want to watch a offense that can score from anywhere on the field. I know a rookie QB will make mistakes but damn I want to believe. And if they bring a guy like Alex Smith and some impact free agents; I will actually look forward to the start of the season.

This season has been trash for many reasons. But the future could be bright if we get this draft right.

I just disagree on the back in round 1. There are a load of great backs we could take in round 2 or 3.

You also have to understand, that as of now, we have a coach who doesn't call enough running plays.

OK..that can be fixed, but look at the backs past Barkley. There are loads of them. I don't think Barkley is so good that you couldn't get similar production from some of the others at a lower draft slot.

Mayfield in the early second is a B-.

How does a league celebrating its 100th season only recognize the 53 most recent championships?

Baker Mayfield will be a top 5 pick... 4th round? Not happening barring major injury or the like...
