Don’t mind me. Just taking shots.
You’re not a believer in Lamar, but I’m not allowed to be a nonbeliever in Rosen?

You throw a comment out like that but what do you base it on?
If you are going to dish a player at least have some reasons.
He disagrees with him politically.

You’re not a believer in Lamar, but I’m not allowed to be a nonbeliever in Rosen? Could you at least base your hate in some reality? Call him another Ryan Leaf or Connor Cook or something better. Besides the Rosen and Leinhart playing in LA, they're not very similar and neither are their situations.

Why Ryan leaf? Because some poor team is about to draft him #1 overall?
I’ve mentioned before why I don’t like him, mainly because he’s super stiff in the pocket.
But that’s just me, I like more mobile qb’s like Lamar or baker.
Stop getting triggered over some shot I take at him.

Because he alienates his teammates and it'll cost him in the NFL. It's much better than calling him super stiff in the pocket. Did you not see the A&M game? Yeah, he's slow and can't throw on the run, but that doesn't make him stiff.
Also, I'm not triggered. I just want you to make better insults because I don't want you to look foolish on this hill.
Personally, I love them both. I think Rosen and Jackson are #1 QBs. On one hand you have the traditional pocket passer who operates with surgeon like precision. He might be a better QB than Luck.
With Lamar, you have the future of the position in the NFL. He has elite speed and an elite arm. You could build an elite RPO offense with him. Which would also put Kizer in a place to succeed in the NFL, if Jackson were to get hurt.
I really like them both. So I have no horse in this race.

I watched few games and some of the draft videos that show all the throws, including the incompletions, etc.
He’s stiff bro. There’s not a lot of movement in the pocket, doesn’t climb into the pocket all that much, and doesn’t do well we rolling out of the pocket to extend a play. He’s gonna get sacked a ton at the next level, good O line or not.
To me that’s important.
I’m still not aware of what political comments he made cause I don’t care about that. But the fact that analysts are already questioning his work ethic and how he interacts with his teammates is concerning. That people are already comparing his mentality to that of Cutler is concerning.
I agree with bone and Vers and others that he’s a really good passer. Probably the best passer, if we’re ONLY talking about just that aspect.
But is josh Rosen a leader? Will guys follow him? Can he extend plays? Does he have the work ethic? Can he learn to move better in the pocket?
I have concerns about baker mayfield because of his mouth, but there’s no question the guy has talent and his teammates will follow him to hell and back.
His size is the biggest knock.
Lamar doesn’t have size issues. He can still gain weight with his frame and not lose speed, and he’s 6’3.
Also, a lot of people on this board aren’t giving Lamar credit for the fact that he ALSO has a big arm.
So when I compare Rosen to Jackson, I look at how they play combined with the stats. The argument can certainly be made that Lamar’s passing numbers are similar, if not better than Rosen’s overall.
Lamar has the better TD-int ratio at 25-6 compared to 26-10 this season.
Lamar has also stayed more healthier than Rosen has, as Rosen couldn’t even complete the 2016 season pm and got hurt again this year, although not serious.
So now we can argue damaged goods over the one who isn’t damaged goods.
Oh, and Lamar also has the better yards per pass average.
So I look at what each has done in the passing game, both on stats and real time, and I don’t see why Lamar isn’t getting love on this board.
Because he has the arm combined with his freakish athleticism. There’s no question about his leadership, his worth ethic, or whether or not guys will follow him.
All those questions apply to Rosen. So I look at Lamar as a passer and his ability to burn defenders, combined with staying healthy, and it’s easy for me to choose Lamar over Rosen.

You bring up a lot of good points. I have many of those same questions about Rosen.
I just don't understand how people think Baker Mayfield is a better QB than Lamar Jackson. It's honestly infuriating. He's on Oklahoma and plays in the Big 12. It's a joke.

True, but in bakers defense, I dunno if another QB could step into that Oklahoma team and do what he did this season. And regardless of what conference he plays in, he just led his team to a playoff birth. For me, it’s Jackson, Mayfield, Rosen.

Baker is pretty talented, a lot more than last year, and that team is very talented. But put Lamar Jackson on that Oklahoma and you would've had your first 3 time Heisman winner.
For me it's Rosen, Jackson and then Mayfield, Clayton Thorson and Mason Rudolph in the "so you're saying there's a chance" tier.

Mayfield is easily a better quarterback than Jackson.
And since this is a Rosen thread, Mayfield is better than him too.

I would plan like Kizer isn't on the team. If he has the mental toughness to improve enough to overwhelm us all in the last 5 weeks then he can handle stiffer competition in camp. I'm all for kwhip's QB in free agency AND the draft plan. Hell, take em in the 2nd and 3rd, too. I'm with both of you there.. I would add LT to kwhips list tho..

Some of these arguments are insane.
The crap about Rosen is just that.
I also think that Baker Mayfield would be getting trashed in a huge way if he was black. But, because he is white, people are overlooking what a jerk he is.
On the other hand, I think some people are overrating Jackson just because he is black and can run.
I think it might be best to evaluate these qbs based on their skill sets rather than pre-conceived notions.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Regarding Lamar. I thought I was pretty clear.
I didn't dish him or say he could not succeed. I simply stated what I thought of him as a player.
Regarding Rosen I did the same thing.
Makes no difference to me who you like or dislike just provide the reasons.

We have to draft the best QB in this draft @ #1 whoever they deem him to be ... I hope we get Rosen but we need to address QB with #1 pick ... JMHO

j/c... FWIW.... One Draft Prospect on Every NFL Team's Radar MATT MILLER DECEMBER 4, 2017 Cleveland Browns: QB Josh Rosen, UCLALet me start this one off by saying the information from Cleveland should be taken with a grain of salt because I expect the coaches and much (if not all) of the front office to be fired. It doesn't matter who executive vice president Sashi Brown or head coach Hue Jackson like in December if they won't be making the pick in April.
Here's what I do know, though—Jackson likes Josh Rosen. I reported that Jackson liked Goff two years ago and that he liked Mitchell Trubisky last year as the best quarterbacks in their respective draft classes. That information proved to be accurate. This time around, that same source is telling me Rosen is Jackson's guy.
But again, that might not matter. According to a front office source, Jackson and his staff are already expecting to be fired after a disastrous 1-27 start in Cleveland. Will the next head coach also like Rosen? We'll see soon enough. Article

Or out of the country with no access to any kind of media... How many times would you have to read that for it to sink in? [/hijack]
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Whomever the QB is that we like the most we had better do our homework on him not only as a player but as what kind of person he is. There's plenty of time to observe and ask questions. We can't make a mistake again.

We can do worse than Rosen, but let's hope the new head coach realizes there's better than Rosen in this draft.

Yes, the most NFL ready QB since Andrew Luck and you think there's someone better. Why am i not surprised?

Assuming this front office is here without Hue. Got it. If that's the case then I would guess they would want the QB who is more statistically more reliable to project at the next level. That would probably mean the big QB who plays in a "pro" offense.

That would probably mean the big QB who plays in a "pro" offense. That's what Hue would want. The front office's take would be more in line with Mayfield. Since they've taken over they've been looking for football players, talented guys who love football, can be coached, and who will give 110% every down. That's Mayfield. And Mayfield checks all the boxes. He's phenomenal under pressure, he throws very well from the pocket, has a strong arm, quick reaction time, extremely accurate, keeps his eyes downfield when scrambling, strong leader who teammates love... I think when it comes draft time Mayfield will be ahead of Rosen. Rosen wouldn't be a bad consolation prize if we end up winning games and someone drafts Mayfield before us... Of the quarterbacks in the draft, I'd say Mayfield is as close to a guarantee to be great as you can get.
