Yup. thumbsup

I would probably expect a few extra losses when IT returns. The teams will need some time to gel on the court.

I almost went to tonight's game. Stupid stomach is fighting me again so I didn't want to spend the money and not enjoy it. Oh well.

very good first half.

61-45, defense looks good again, came out sloppy but quickly overcame that. love has a game high 8 boards, green with 9 points off the bench.

held the bulls to 40% from the field, 25% from 3.

Not to be a Debby Downer, but I've already been labeled as that anyway when it comes to the Cavs. I've never seen such an easy stretch of games before. Every night they are playing the worst team in the league it seems.

They are doing what they are supposed to do, but I'm excited to see a signature win against a good team. This stretch of games would have been great to get IT back and start working him back in. We were the dregs of the league. Now we play the dregs of the league every night.

When LeBron and Love are playing this way, they are pretty much unbeatable by anyone other than GS. Just want to see it against some good teams.

This is the truth, and even at times during this stretch we've had to eek out wins because they lose focus. Looking at the schedule theres really nothing in the whole month until GS on christmas, maybe washington? but they are only a .500 team. The east started out so promising now its back to bleh. Actually the NBA as a whole this year has been underwhelming after a promising start

Both teams shooting like hot garbage to start the game. Bout 6 minutes left to go in the 1st, and the score is 6-6

Good win, but we ate up on turnovers and the small ball killed us. We couldn’t defend it all that well, and gave up a lot of points in the paint while not being able to score in the paint for much of the game.

Lots to work on.

A few thoughts:

--We need to play someone good. These guys are getting bored. They played down to the Kings today. From blown defensive assignments to LeBron having several 2 or 3 straight possessions with turnovers, these guys need something to get them focused.

--Calderon is a pretty awful player but he's brought a calming presence to the team. The offense actually gets into a set instead of being an erratic mess. Of course, he only plays about 16 minutes, but that's enough to get both halves going.

--Defense is 90% hustle and want to. The Cavs look like a team that wants to play good defense. They rotate with purpose, close out on shooters, and challenge shots. They were doing none of that at the beginning of the season.

--LeBron just makes shots whenever he feels like it. It's stupid.

--This team doesn't look old anymore. Wade and Green don't look old. They look like they are in their late 20s. If they can maintain that into the playoffs, the Cavs might have something here. Even Korver doesn't look that old with the way he's moving. Did these guys drink from the fountain of youth or something? Basketball is a young man's game, but the Cavs of late have seemed quicker, faster, and more athletic than their foes. We have been playing the dregs, but I'm amazed at this as well as the transformation on D.

--Still want to beat a good team. But my goodness, is the NBA a complete crapshow right now. There are literally almost no good teams.

We won’t play anybody good until Christmas when we play the warriors.

The next 8 games until then, only 2-3 could be considered above average:

Philly, Milwaukee, and Washington.

There’s definitely a chance we can go into the Christmas Day game riding a 21 game win streak.

How much fun would that be?

As far as the Cavs "playing down" to the Kings tonight, probably a little bit, but you also tend to press when you get into these ridiculous streaks. Everyone wants to keep it going, but I think in the back of their minds they know it eventually will end. You saw the Indians at the tail end of their streak really have some horrible at-bats during those last few games until the Royals beat them.

I think it's funny that people are complaining about the NBA being mostly bad. Are you just figuring this out? lol the NBA has been top heavy for almost 2 decades.

You've had Cavs/Warriors 3 straight years with absolutely no resistance from any team outside of 2 quarters of San Antonio with Kawhi Leonard.

As Cavs fans, we all benefit from this, because our team just happens to be one of the 2-3 teams that realistically has a shot at a title, but for everyone else it sucks, and I think the NBA gets by because they have so many casual fans that support the league.

The NFL is somewhat similar, although the short season gives everyone (almost everyone lol) a little bit of hope every year.

There are a lot of good young players in the league though, so I think they are in good hands going forward. It's just a bad looking product right now because a lot of these teams are still learning to win and grind during an 82 game season, let alone the playoffs, which is obviously a step up in intensity.

Watching the t wolves/clippers game.

Man, the wolves have a really nice squad. Wiggins and towns are really good, and Teague is looking good again running the offense like he did in Atlanta when they were good.

Butler is also doing his thing. Him and coach Thib together works the best.

Sixers trade Okafor, Stauskas to Nets for Booker

https://www.thescore.com/nba/news/1438893

Jahlil Okafor has finally been freed.

The Philadelphia 76ers traded Okafor, Nik Stauskas, and a 2019 second-round pick (by way of the New York Knicks) to the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday in exchange for Trevor Booker.

"We are excited about the prospects of both Jahlil and Nik, as well as adding another future asset which will aid us in our continued roster development," said Nets general manager Sean Marks in an official statement. "This trade provides us with a good opportunity to bring in two young players who were high picks in recent drafts and give them a chance to succeed in our system."

Okafor, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2015 draft, became an outcast in the Sixers organization as the team devoted its future to fellow big man Joel Embiid instead. In the public trade saga that followed, it was clear both sides wanted out, but the Sixers were demanding a second-round pick.

Philadelphia ultimately needed to give up a pick of its own to facilitate the deal. However, the Sixers did get rid of Okafor's and Stauskas' contracts in exchange for Booker, a useful bench contributor whose deal expires this summer. That keeps the books clean for a potential run at LeBron James.

"Trevor Booker has been a solid and competitive two-way contributor at every NBA stop. Trevor's abilities should complement our style of play and his experience should add to our bench depth with playoff contention," said Sixers GM Bryan Colangelo in a statement of his own. "Jahlil and Nik are both quality young men with talent that should keep them productive in this league a long time. We hope they find more opportunity in Brooklyn this season and thank them for their contributions over the past few years."

Meanwhile, Brooklyn continues to accumulate talented young pieces on the cheap. Okafor has proven to be a capable scorer, although his game needs to grow if he is to become a viable player in the long run. He will get that chance with the Nets.

Yeah, what am I missing here? What is wrong with Okafor that the Sixers would be willing to dump him for a 10pt/6rb guy? Are they that desperate for an expiring contract?

The Nets also have Okafor and Randall now from that 2015 draft for basically nothing.

It's bizarre what's taken place there. They get rid of Nerlens Noel....then bench Okafor for no apparent reason. Those 2 bigs with Embiid...and then Simmons and Covington would probably have them competing with the Cavs and the Celtics in the east.

I can't believe the Cavs picked Anthony Bennett #1 in 2013 when Oladipo was available.

I had this game circled as the one that the streak would end. Simply because this was the first team that was average. Bad effort all around tonight. Hopefully they play better tomorrow and start a new streak

Only because JR is so weak and can’t fight over a screen. JR on olidipo was what got him going. He abused JR

Just a really sloppy game in both sides of the ball.

Missed so many wide open shots. Gave up so many wide open shots. Sloppy ball handling leading to turnovers. Silly fouls.

Oh well. Move on.
