i didn't think he was a great comedian (not bad by any stretch, but nowhere in the neighborhood of a dennis leary, or a lewis black, or a richard pryor), but his show was very good, and i think he did a pretty good job on who's line is it
but with that said, i have a hard time seeing him as the successor to bob barker

And therein lies the problem. Don't compare him to Bob. Give him a chance. Don't compare him to Bob, cause Bob is gone. If he's compared to Bob.......what did Bob do, how did Bob do it, it that's the standard he has to fit, he's doomed, just as anyone would be.
Give him a chance to do the show. If you compare everyone to Bob, you'll never like the show again. Bob is gone, by his own choice.

I made the statement that Drew Carey was a poor choice to host the show. You immediately jump to the conclusion that I'm bashing him because he's from Cleveland. YOU were the one who made this into a Pittsburgh vs. Cleveland debate, and yet you accuse me of jumping to conclusions? I don't care if Carey is from Cleveland or Honolulu. I never found him to be funny, and I don't think that he has the ability to carry the show. THAT is my opinion.
