Hey, I figured it would be of interest to hear what everyone thinks of the Tribe. I wanna hear everyone's predictions on what the Tribe may do throughout the remainder of the year in regards to the trade deadline, promotions/demotions, signings, and post-season play.
I believe the Tribe will fall short of picking up some help before the deadline. I really like the idea of getting Gagne, but I am hesitant on both Dotel and Lidge. However, a deal for Gagne would likely mean Garko, Gutierrez, or Francisco would be leaving Cleveland. And with the way Trot has been playing and DD being on the DL, these two are going to be crucial as the season moves on. And where the Indians are at right now, I think everyone can forget about Garko being moved. However, I see it happening in the future with Mills being groomed in the minors.
I would also like to see them make a deal for Dye, but I don't wanna see an Indians prospect go to the division rival. Lofton would be nice, but I am scared of what we might give up for the 40 year old.
I see Cabrera being moved down to the minors even though he is out of options. I don't think he will be with this club next and for good reason. Bring Adam Miller up and groom him in the bullpen for the remainder of the season. The tribe need to get his feet wet because our rotation is starting to be scary as well.
And, as much as Oakland, San Fran, and the two LA teams want C.C. I really believe he will resign with the Tribe and keep this youthful team in tact. We can't let our power pitcher go.
As for the playoffs, Tribe wins the wild card and makes it to the World Series like it seems every WildCard team has been doing recently. I can only hope. I'll have more input, I'm sure, but I wanna gear what you guys/girls have to say.

I said before the season that the best team in the AL was the Detroit Tigers and I still think they are. Look for the Tigers to start pulling away from the the rest of the AL Central pack and never look back, unless they have a sudden catastrophe of injuries.
Best to expect for Indians is maybe wild card position and ending up with 90 - 95 wins. JMHO

We won't make the playoffs.
Just a hunch. They don't know how to bunt and Lee and Westbrook belong in AAA right now.

I'd say thats a safe bet, tigers/red sox in a whole 'nother league than tribe. We are playing like garbage as of late. I caught alot of flak when the season started for my opinions of the team, looks like i was right unfortunelty, Hafner is a 1 trick pony and isn't worth 13 million, not in a million years, i wouldn't have extended him until after season, westbrook i thought was waay overrated, still feel that way. Thought that we should have made signing CC priority and if we had money left over to sign westy or pronk, then great, if not..oh well, we got our ace locked up, i suggested that if we couldn't resign pronk, that it wasn't that big a deal, i suggested that we put Vmart at 1st, shoppach catch and garko DH. I still feel that is a better lineup. Peralta needs to go, and fast, he is garbage. Been pleasantly surprised by gute and ben. Nice to see some nice young talent getting some experience so early in the year. I would like to see westbrook and lee sent down put in DL anything to get them out of rotation. Bring up some of the young arms, can't possibly do worse. I think westy tried to come back too early.. no idea what shappie/wedge was thinking, he was getting shelled during his rehab starts, why bring him up. The key for the second half to me, Consistency on offense. wedge needs to find a lineup that works. Still don't have one. Why trot nixon gets ANY time over ben/gute/jmike is beyond me, this had to be one of our worst offseasons ever. we need to make a trade to get some bat help and bullpen or a 4/5 starter.
