Anybody going to this stupid parade? I think the guy pushing this is just trying to get some

National face time, which he will get from the jerks at ESPN and local news outlets.

I don't understand why he would do this to his city and the fans. We know we are a bunch of losers. Why show the whole country.

Maybe we should have a parade celebrating when the river caught on fire. That never gets old does it?

I agree, I don't like the thought of this parade either. This isn't funny.

We aren't however, a bunch of losers. Nobody whose team moved ever got their's back like we did.

WE DON'T NEED A QB BEFORE WE GET A LINE THAT CAN PROTECT HIM

I don’t agree. We need to embrace this, own it, laugh at ourselves before ESPN and the others do it for us. Take it away from them and it goes away much sooner.

I call it the Parade of Disaster.

Hopefully next season we can win a few.

Most are missing the point.

The guy doing this raised $10k last year and donated it all to the Cleveland Food Bank.

The parade isn't a knock on the fans or the city, the fact that this utterly embarrassing organization has gone or will have gone 1-31 is the one folks needs to direct their angst to.

Am I attending the parade? No.

Do I have any problem with it? No.

And "we" are not a bunch of losers. "We" includes "I" and last I checked I am not a part of the Browns organization. The Browns in no way, shape or form shape how I am perceived by others or how I identify myself no matter how bad or good they may or may not be.

Its all about perspective ...

The parade in my eyes is solely the biggest FU possible to the Thief and Dee ... for that reason and to help a charity at the same time I’d go ....

I’d go with some sort of relevant donation and a big ole orange sponge middle finger hand for the Thief ... *LOL*

This. The parade isn't about celebrating 0-16 or making a joke out of it. It's about letting ownership know how disgusted we are as fans and that we deserve better than this.

100% agree. None of them are true Browns fans. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.

Can't believe they're going to be on national television, trying to throw a parade in which they want the players and coaches to march through the streets and be mocked.

Yet, they'll be the first to complain that we can't sign any free agents and draft picks will refuse to play for the team. Really showing a community and a fan base that people would want to play for.

Can't imagine anyone on the roster having any respect for Browns fans and the community of Cleveland in general. Deservedly so.

Maybe they can get Big Dawg to be Grand Marshal, and cry on cue for the cameras. If people want to take part in this and have this historically bad team define them, I can't help it. But I sure won't take part in it.

Most do. Any athlete could tell you just hope important fans are. They make the world of difference. When it comes to professional organizations, not that I would know as I've never been a pro athlete, but I imagine having such an incredibly large fan base that is a direct reflection of the community is something that is very important.

Our guys play in front of a half-empty stadium with more fans from the rival team than home fans, vile abuse towards them and their family members (See Josh Gordon), with a breathtakingly negative and spiteful media, and now we're adding hateful, self-serving parades to the list.

Great. It'll be so easy to attract free agents. Maybe we can invite all the quarterback prospects to the parade. Well, the ones who are not already actively trying to avoid coming to Cleveland.

I guess everyone has two choices. You can accept this season and do nothing publicly to show your disgust. Or you can go and show the owner and everyone else in the Browns organization just how much it bothers you.

The bigger the attendance, the bigger the impact. You can either show your disgust or remain apathetic. But if the attendance is low, quit whining you care about things changing. Because you didn't even care enough to make your feelings known.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I wouldn't attend but I didn't attend the Cavs victory parade. I do however hope it leaves a taste like a mouthful of dog crap in this organizations mouth. It deserves it.

Have you noticed the stands this year at home games? Can you imagine the lost revenues from concessions, the team shop, parking, etc? It has to be huge sum. Newspapers and local sports talkers hammer the Browns daily. Then there are message boards like this one. Fans are as angry, or worse, indifferent, as I've ever seen. You really feel Haslam and the Browns organization need a wake-up call that they're losing their fan base?

Cleveland fan raises money for city parade should Browns finish 0-16

Dec 8, 2017
Darren Rovell
ESPN Senior Writer

For the second straight year, a Cleveland Browns fan is arranging a parade for fans should the team finish the season winless.

Chris McNeil, who says he has had Browns season tickets in his family for at least 30 years, raised his required goal of $10,000 this week, when headache medication brand Excedrin contributed the final $7,683.

McNeil was all ready to have the parade last year, but then the Browns won on Christmas Eve. The Browns matched the $10,000 McNeil had raised, and a few more donations brought the total to $50,000, which was given to the Cleveland Food Bank.

Last week, with the Browns sitting at 0-11, McNeil met with the necessary parties in Cleveland to pull off the parade in the event the team finishes 0-16. Some of the largest costs for the parade, which would be held on Jan. 6, include security and insurance that meets the city's requirements.

"Everything has been so negative around the Browns, this would just be a way to have some fun, and it's obviously a shot across the bow to the Browns owner," McNeil said. "It's not celebrating losing. It's just a way of saying, we're fans, and these aren't our Browns."

For their part, the Browns have cooperated somewhat. The plan for the parade is to make a loop -- or, as McNeil says, a "0" -- around FirstEnergy Stadium, where the team plays its games. In order to use the side of the street that the stadium is on, McNeil said he had to get the Browns' permission.

"As we said last year around this time, our hope is to give our fans a better reason for a parade," said Browns spokesman Peter John-Baptiste. "Last year, a Browns win canceled the parade and resulted in helping feed some citizens in need through a donation to the Cleveland Food Bank. That was a positive result. We understand and appreciate the passion of Cleveland Browns fans and would love nothing more than to get them some wins before the season ends."

For his part, McNeil doesn't necessarily want the team to lose out, either.

"I'm hoping they win a game," said McNeil, who attended a season-low one game this year but promises to be at the home finale next week against the Baltimore Ravens if a winless season is still on the line. "But if they don't, it's a nice hedge to have this."

Caryn Previdi, a spokeswoman for GlaxoSmithKline, the parent company of Excedrin, said the company saw the opportunity as a fun way to "help the Browns suffer less during another rough season." Previdi said exact plans of how much of a presence the brand would have at the event is unknown.

Based on social media interest, McNeil said the city is planning for around 2,000 people to attend should the Browns pull off the feat.

If they did, they'd join the 2008 Detroit Lions as the only teams to lose all games in a 16-game schedule.

The t-shirt sales from the parade will probably generate more revenue than the concessions.

I don't know that the Browns brain trust pays much attention to a message board. Yes, we are fans, but in the grand scope of things, we're a very small group.

I do believe that a huge amount of people making a public display would have a lot of impact. This won't be something that's only covered on a local level. And I don't really believes that it indicates that you're losing fans. I think it indicates that you have a lot of disgusted fans that are actually willing to show up to display that disgust.

If I lived anywhere close to Cleveland I would certainly attend and I'm still a fan of the Browns. They haven't lost me, however it would be a way of voicing my displeasure in a very public way.

This is all being done for recognition and twitter followers. It's pathetic.

There's a small group of fans who love to bask in the failures of the Browns. Make no mistake a lot of these people are actually rooting for them to lose tomorrow.

It's like an animal rolling around in its own feces.

I understand they did this last year and donated the funds to the food bank when the Browns ended up spoiling the party, but that doesn't take away from the fact that this is being done because people want to become famous.

I hope the Browns win tomorrow, and I hope this is rock bottom, so that we don't have to deal with idiotic fans who are in it for their own good instead of just enjoying their team.

I think Haslem is already embarrassed.

The players are embarrassed. Imagine the slap in the face to our players. Most didn't quit. Some are not very good but they looked like they were giving their all. Does anybody think Duke Johnson or Joe Thomas deserves this?

Sure its got to hurt our search for Free agents. Would any of you want to come to a place

Joe Thomas goes to bed every night with the certain knowledge that a gold jacket awaits him in Canton five years after he retires. But the younger guys on this roster might wonder what kind of fans "celebrate", or more accurately mock their allegedly beloved team by having a parade when they go winless.

I don't care what anyone says, its a dick move.

I don't think Joe needs the money. Matter of fact I would surprised if any players show up for this parade, but who knows, if they would kneel for the National Anthem....they might.

If they truly think it’s such a dick move, they should not have set up the scenario where it could happen. This is not on the fans, about the fans and never has been. The fans are just stuck with this POS team.

Yep. If they win tomorrow, there's no parade and the Cleveland food bank gets an 11k dollar donation. It's all up to them.

I disagree - it IS on the fans if they choose to make a further mockery of a once-legendary franchise by holding a "celebratory" parade when/if they go 0-16. I don't for a minute think these players - for the most part - didn't do their best when they took the field each week. I have never felt they weren't trying to win. They may have been handicapped by an inept front office and coaching staff, but I do believe they tried their best to win, and I don't think they deserve this.

Its more of a statement from the fanbase to the bigwigs that this ish sucks and they better fix it. No reflection on players.

If I was a player I'd know in my heart if I did the best I could do.

If so, then no worries about some dumb parade.

Legendary is going back to the 60’s. I think 40 years is enough time to move on from “legendary” status.

The fans aren’t making a mockery of the team, the team did that on their own. The fans aren’t responsible for this travesty, the owners/front office/coaching staff/players are. The fans have only provided support and they have time and again been let down by the powers making the decisions. The fans are the one positive constant in this disaster.

If the fans so choose to have this parade, I’m all in favor as no one deserves to have a parade more than the fans.

How much are the Browns worth again? That's what Haslam cares about. If the value of the franchise went down after every loss then Haslam would be a little more embarrassed.

If I were a free agent and the Browns were willing to pay me millions of dollars, some stupid parade wouldn't stop me from signing with them.

Just for the record "once-legendary" means not any more.

Anyway, if the f-tards want a parade, have a parade. Wallow in it. I won't be there.
