"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."
I think he will, largely because Haslam has already confirmed it, and all other teams are trying to avoid firing their coach because this is considered a pretty weak opportunity to add on - there isn't really a hot shot coaching candidate out there, like McVay was last year.
I also think Dorsey is okay with Hue getting another year. I hate what Jackson does on the field, but the players love him and he's a fantastic leader when he can shut his mouth in front of the press.
Dorsey can solve the issues with the playcalling by adding an OC. Frankly, Dorsey can also use Hue as a scapegoat next year, so that might be a bonus for him siding with the continuity.

I want to vomit.

Jimmy Haslam confirms that Hue Jackson will be the coach of the Browns in 2018. Haslam did not waver from his initial announcement December 8 that Jackson will return and said that Jackson has provided "great leadership" http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-0739236155928614695-4 …
I honestly and beginning to think Jackson is going to be here next year...Haslam is a fool....
if Jackson returns next year its doubtful i'll watch this garbage...and if we do draft another QB jackson will ruin him as his parting shot before Dorsey forces Haslam to get rid of him...

If Dorsey has ANY brains in his head whatsoever, he needs to tell Haslam:
"I want to fire Jackson and hire my own coach, and if you won't let me, then I resign"
Dorsey will have no problem finding work elsewhere, and no other franchise is going to hold this situation against him...the rest of the NFL owners right now are scratching their head thinking WTH is he thinking keeping an 0-16 coach....unreal
Dorsey, if Jimmy won't let you bring in your own guy, you need to resign....you being set up for failure otherwise.
Haslam, listening to him on radio right now, is unequivocal in his statement that Hue will NOT be fired.
So, we have set the bar of success in Cleveland to the lowest depth imaginable.
ya know, we could be the 1st team to have back to back 0-16 seasons....
Evne the Detroit Lions were smart enough to fire the bums that lead them to 0-16...but it doesn't seem like Jimmy is the sharpest knife in the rack....
I'm just numb man. Just numb to hearing what Haslam had to say. His explanation . . . his insistence to stay the course on what is a sunk ship is amazing.
1) Be willing to talk to press 2) Be a "likeable" guy 3) Wear Browns clothing at all public appearances 4) Be able to hire travel planners to accommodate demanding travel schedule of NFL 5) Show up
The rest is negotiable.
Fear us, for we are the BROWNS, led by the mighty BM! Only in Cleveland.
Dorsey will have no problem finding work elsewhere, and no other franchise is going to hold this situation against him.
Haslam announced Hue would be retained in 2018 at the same time he announced Dorsey as general manager.
I understand frustrations with Jackson, I'm no fan of his, but Dorsey 100% signed off on this at the time that he took the job. Nothing is being forced on him.

Well we were not 0-16 and didn't lose our last game of the year to our division rivals backups at that time either...
If I was Dorsey there would be no way in hell i would continue on in that position with the Browns if I wasn't allowed to hire my own guy. things change, he couldn't even out coach the Steelers backups?
no way Dorsey can win with that...either let him hire his own guy or walk....else this will be Dorsey's last job in the NFL if he doesn't.
I can understand if that's what you would do. I'm just saying that clearly isn't what Dorsey wants to do. If he didn't want Hue, he wouldn't have signed on, or he would have made it clear he'd only sign if Hue Jackson was gone.
Sure, the Browns are 0-16, but he signed up when the Browns were like 0-13 following a 1-15 season. I don't think these extra few losses come as a shock to him haha.
