After all the comments, much negative, about Gordon, I must say I was impressed and pleased. A better OC calling them for a better QB than Kizer could make him a gem. This will be the hard part of the year; keep him out of Canada because JFF may be up there somewhere, like Manitoba Maziel or some such.

What Gordon did was difficult, even if self-inflicted. What he achieved is real and positive IMO, so here's some props and new sunglasses.

Gordon needs the ball. He will bore and lose interest easily. Gordon bored can't be a good thing. The guy craves the action. This off season, someone with good influence needs to be tied to his hip.

i agree .. he gets disinterested if he doesn't get it. Even if it's a quick bubble screen or a handoff early

I think the off season will be the hardest for Gordon to stay clean. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he falls off the wagon at some point during the off season. I truly hope he doesn't, but I wouldn't be surprised. I do think the Browns need to go into the off season as though they don't have Josh Gordon. Then they're prepared if the worst case scenario happens with him.

This is a do or die offseason for Gordon.

I don’t care if he gets something stupid like a speeding ticket. We’re talking the one thing that will pretty much end his career: drugs.

If this guy can make it into training camp, and be our starter week one, that’s HUGE. Obviously nobody is gonna be upset if he got hurt, that’s understandable.

You are definitely thinking like I am, it's do or die for his NFL career.

He had a really good game on Sunday. It would be a shame if he started using again, but that's up to him.

He needs to wise up. Hopefully he did.

Good to see Gordon show up yesterday. He played well, although I thought he ran out of gas on that catch-and-run across the middle and then down the far sideline late in the game. He'll do better with a full TC next summer to get into game shape.

I can only hope he goes to a lowkey spot and starts working out with a variety of NFL players. Hopefully no more bad influences besides his manager. I'm sure he'll continue to be a prolific instagram user.

I am thinking we buy him a 200 yard long desert island, christen it Club Gordon and come back for him during week before TC or whatever. This is a crucial month or some for him.

Just for discussion's sake. He had success, he made it back, do you trade him? See what he is worth?

Personally, I ride this prize pony until he drops.

Happy new year, all! It is behind us, and it is with every fan every step of the way.

I believe this to be correct, and I think the best move for him is to go right back to where he spent the last year training and get back to it. Re-immerse himself in the environment that got him prepared for his comeback in the first place.

Is Gordon a free agent after 2018? If he is then he will probably stay clean while playing for a contract and then sign with another team in 2019.

I hope we trade Gordon as quickly as possible. if we can get anything for him.

I do not trust him to remain sober and clean.

My best friend, from Middle School to today, had an alcoholic father. He would work to get sober, but he ultimately wanted to feeling of being drunk/high more than anything else in this world.

I fear that Gordon is in the same boat. Fool me once, twice, thrice ........ time for us to stop playing the fool for Gordon. If he goes elsewhere and stars .... OK .... but I don't want us relying on him, and passing up other opportunities to improve the position.

+1 ...

I’m with u ...

Trade his ass for whatever u can get ... he’s a re-lapse waiting to happen ...

I’m rooting for the kid ... just like i do all my fellow human beings .,, but he scares the crap out of me for a bunch of reasons including those he’s surrounded himself with ...

I would take the “get what u can, while the gettings good” philosophy with this particular situation ...

I don’t think we have the luxury of simply trading away one of out only playmakers. He’s under contract for another year. If he plays well, he’ll get paid here or elsewhere. I keep him next season and then re-assess next offseason. We have the leverage - we can tag and trade or sign him up long term. I’m rooting for him - for him and the Browns.

I still think we need to draft a receiver high (no pun intended).

Trade him ASAP, his shelf life is too short. Pick up a young stud in the draft with no baggage and move on.

Unless we can get an early 2nd round pick or better for Gordon - and I doubt that we can - I'd rather hold on to him.

Whatever...no matter what happens Gordon's shelf life is limited and doesn't deserve a long term contract now, NO WAY!. We have 12 Picks this year. We can have 13 or more trading Gordon. Time to distance ourselves from a player that has done nothing but screw us every year.

I'd keep Gordon but set my draft and FA up as if he's not on the team. Give him one more year to see if he has really changed. If he makes it through the year incident free, they'll be a really tough decision after next year.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Gordon has never made it through a incident free year. And when the incident rears it's ugly head again, and it will, the Browns are screwed once again. Trade him and move on.

I think Gordon will be an RFA after next season.
We should tag him with the 1st round pick return. See what happens...then match or take the compensation.

Right now he is our best weapon in the air by far.

Him staying clean this off season is big time. He will have money in his pockets and a lot of time on his hands.

We have never had a WR that talented 1999 to Present. Worth the risk as it is low we invested a 2nd rounder a long time ago.
So virtually there is no risk.

People change and mature lets hope he has.

Hard to trust him now. Just don't want to build something on him and around him and screw the pooch again. Dawg tired of that.

Pull for him, but we gotta keep a "clean posse" around him.

His trade value won't get any better than it is right now. Trade him straight up, no conditions, and move on. Lot's of fresh young WR's are in the 2018 draft. And we'll get another pick or two.

Yes it will. He's an ERFA this year, so he'll only be on a one year contract. At the end of next season he'll be a RFA and can be tagged with either a 2nd or higher pick and will have the guarantee of a long term contract. His trade value is at its lowest right now.

He will not be a RFA till 2019. So ya we can control him for 2 more years if we choose.

What big revelation did you make that would have you saying "I told you so? ???

That he could fall back again like many addicts do????

Dumping him would be a mistake.

a 4th round pick at this stage of the game is almost nothing for us. As stated take the chance he doesn't fall back this year and we get him for the entire season of 2018...then let him get tagged in RFA and make our decision then.

There is no I told you so moment.

You think I don't know there is that possibility? I personally would always choose to give a human being a second chance...Football wise though he is worth the risk we lose nothing and have a lot to gain.

jmho nothing to tell me so tongue

We’re not getting rid of him. Dorsey and hue isn’t gonna let talent like that walk.

The fans wanting him gone, while I understand, I completely disagree.

Honestly, Browns fans and their draft picks ... like we're going to strike gold with an extra 4th or 5th round pick we could get for Gordon. If he stays clean - and I know its a bif IF - he's a Pro Bowl caliber WR. If he tests dirty, big whips, we lost another Jeremiah Pharms by not trading him.

Looks to me like he’s matured, I’ll take him at his word and say this is what we’ve been waiting for from him.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and saying he has changed. He seems to realize he almost threw it all away for nothing. That would change me.

Wow .. 1 td in 2017....Our hero!

With all that talent being touted around here, we should get at least a 2nd rd pick easily.

Yes. And if he doesn't? Oh well, he's done in the league.

Tell me a team that would give us picks for him - picks that are worth something, that is.
