Titans agree to terms with veteran receiver

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms with veteran receiver Eric Moulds on Wednesday, adding some needed experience to the roster for quarterback Vince Young.

"Eric is a proven and productive receiver in this league," general manager Mike Reinfeldt said in a statement. "He provides us a big target with sure hands and his veteran leadership is a valuable addition to our receiving corps."

The 11-year veteran spent 2006 with Houston after playing for Buffalo his first 10 seasons in the NFL. He has caught at least 67 passes in each of his last nine seasons, which is more than anyone caught for Tennessee in 2006.

With David Givens still recovering from a torn ACL, Moulds can help a receiving corps where Brandon Jones and Roydell Williams, a pair of draft picks going into their third season, currently are the projected starters.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Moulds has started 149 of his 170 career games and has 732 career receptions for 9,653 yards and 49 touchdowns. He needs 347 yards receiving to become the 26th player in NFL history with 10,000 career yards.

Assistant coach Fred Graves, hired by the Titans earlier this year to coach the receivers, worked with Moulds from 2001-03. Moulds had a career-best 100 catches and 10 touchdowns in 2002.

Would have been nice to have him, he's very good. He'll help Vince Young.

I wanted Moulds to start opposite of Edwards. Not as productive as Antonio Bryan would have been, but without the character issues.

Antonio Bryant... man... that was my boy... I dont even know if he would want to come back, but then again.. nobody seems to even want him b/c of his bad rep for his attitude/ temper tantrum.. not sure if its 100% true..

I'm not even gonna get my hopes up about him though.. he was a 1000 yard WR for us, but I think its time for our younger WR's to make a name for themselves.. and this is the perfect opportunity for them to do it...

This is a huge move for the Titans. I saw them as the worst team in the league before this move. Now maybe Detroit and Oakland are worse than them again...

Oh yeah, and the Falcons.

Im not giving up either. I wanted the Browns to get him ever since he was coming out of Pitt. Until another WR gets 1000 yards, I cant say Cleveland has had a better WR since they came back.

I don't know Hot,, something is pretty wrong when a guy like Moulds gets signed to a contract before a young productive guy like Bryant does...

I know there may be some money difference, but still.. Moulds WAS a better receiver but Bryant could even be better and he has many more years left, so I'm thinking the character issues are bigger than any of us knew.
