Instead of making up fake accomplishments this year to celebrate Trump. I hope we can start 2018 off better by celebrating his failures. Now, it's the second day, so I'm not sure it's the first. In fact, I know that it's not. But today Orrin Hatch retired.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/01/02/utahs-hatch-to-retire-opening-door-to-possible-romney-run.html

For those of you who don't know, Trump has been trying to talk Hatch out of retirement so that Mitt Romney will not become a Senator next year. Well Donny, you failed. Congratulations, Orrin on your retirement. I wish you had taken it 20 years ago. But better late than never.

guys like 40 thinks thats an accomplishment.

I love that even when 40 seeks out favorable things to copy and paste because he lacks the knowledge to make a persuasive argument on his own, he still picks lists full of inane gibberish with things like "worked to promote the sale of U.S products abroad" or "he traveled to the Middle East and Europe to build new relationships with leaders".

Imagine being such an impotent dud that you can't even curate a short bulletpoint list of accomplishments without resorting to mindless babble.

Not to mention that "he traveled to the Middle East and Europe to build new relationships with leaders" is a convoluted way to say "sold $100 billion in arms to the world's leading sponsor of terror".

If you compare what FOX News is covering, they sync up quite neatly with whatever Trump happens to throw a temper tantrum about.

Our country's discourse is more or less in the hands of cable news programmers.

It's glaringly evident that Trump learns about most world events via cable news. Beyond the fact that his daily temper tantrums on Twitter follow FOX reports by 12-15 minutes with near clockwork, it's been well-documented that Trump has the attention span of a small child, and his aides struggle to get him engaged with daily briefings.

What part of that would you care to refute?

All of it;

It's well documented that ALL Presidents have and had Cable news on throughout the day. How do you think Obama knew Hannity was cracking on him?

Fox, like all news orgs are not up in the morning when Trump tweets. You have that thought backwards.

Trump has the attention span of a small child? What he does is called 'multi-tasking'. You couldn't keep up with him!

This isn't true.

There have been three presidents to serve during the advent of 24/7 cable news. Bush occasionally, but rarely, would have FOX on in the Oval. Obama occasionally had ESPN on. Both of them relied on traditional daily briefings for various branches. Trump eschewed the reports, as he didn't like having to read so many words, so he demanded that they be shrunk to bulletpoints with pictures. That still wasn't enough, so they began to intersperse praise of him in between the points, in an effort to keep him focused.

It's very obvious he learns of what's going on from FOX, both in the aforementioned timing and the fact he rarely understands the basic of any issue at hand. What you've said is completely incorrect - Trump often tweets whatever "Fox & Friends" said, usually within a time frame of 12-15 minutes.

And, sorry, but I most certainly keep up with a senile moron who thinks health insurance costs $12 a year.

What do you base this on? Were you in any of the administrations? Or, is this what was reported? I don't know, do you?

Weird - in one of your posts today you said the exact same thing - except you said "...health insurance costs $14 a month" Not $12.

Lemme guess: Another typo?

Dang man, you're starting to have more typos than Trump? Dare we call you a senile, doughy, person, on the fringe of dementia?

No, he's used both numbers, $12 and $14. I think $12 was the number he gave Haberman, $14 in the Dickerson interview, but I could have those mixed up. He's also used both figures at campaign rallies (I've heard "$15" and "$22" a few times) . He's also interchanged "month" and "year" before, but I think he's only said "...a year" during rallies.

My theory on how he gets these numbers is that he's obviously mistaking health insurance and life insurance, and he usually throws out whatever number he heard last on whatever company is advertising life insurance on FOX commercials on any given day.

EDIT: I found another where both $12 and $15 are the number:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/poli...alth-insurance/

Quote:
"We're putting in $8bn [to a high-risk coverage pool] and you're going to have absolute coverage. You're going to have absolute guaranteed coverage. You're going to have it if you're a person going in … don't forget, this was not supposed to be the way insurance works. Insurance is, you're 20 years old, you just graduated from college, and you start paying $15 a month for the rest of your life and by the time you're 70, and you really need it, you're still paying the same amount and that's really insurance."

And also, I was wrong, he has said "year" in interviews::

Quote:
"As they get something, it gets tougher. Because politically, you can't give it away. So preexisting conditions are a tough deal. Because you are basically saying from the moment the insurance, you're 21 years old, you start working and you're paying $12 a year for insurance, and by the time you're 70, you get a nice plan. Here's something where you walk up and say, "I want my insurance." It's a very tough deal, but it is something that we're doing a good job of."

Nevermind, I missed this part. I thought you were trying to make a good faith argument that Trump knows what health insurance is. I realize now it was a laughably lame attempt at semantics. My bad.

But here's a tip- next time you have the impulse to say something like "First you said $12, now you say $14, maybe you have dementia!", take a deep breath and do some research. A minute or so of Google searching would've let you know that Trump is indeed a senile moron who has laid out all kinds of random numbers - $12 a month, $15 a year, $14 a month, $22 a month - as to what he thinks health insurance coverage costs.

Honestly, I'm no longer surprised at how dumb he is, but you would think at some point one of his underlings would inform him about the basics of what health coverage costs. I know he has the mind of a child, but my God. It's been well over a year, and he still doesn't know what health insurance is.

Honestly, arch, I like and respect you on a certain level, and you're better than some of these dumb semantic arguments, and you know it.

I'm not certain why you feel the impulse to defend Trump, because I think deep down inside you know that he's an immoral simpleton. My guess would be you defend him to spite other larger ideologies, but I think you know that trying to argue that the man isn't a senile moron is a failed argument.

You have a good night, too.

Nah, I don't defend Trump like I used to. But seriously, the things you accuse him of, while doing the same yourself, makes me wonder about you.

It's bad if someone else spells wrong, but it's okay if you do? Just a typo?

Grayson/Graydon - whatever, right?

Etc.

Look, I know you don't like republicans, or conservatives, or liberals, or democrats, or the u.s. economy. I know you have dire thoughts about everything u.s. - politically, economically, etc.

Left, right, red, blue, you hate them all.

I just can't imagine why you want to stay in this country - other than it affords you a good way to make a living. And that seems at odds with what you profess.

Anyway, jmo.

Again, I thought we came to an agreement on this, but I guess we didn't.

I pointed out that Trump can't spell - for years he's made the same repeated misspellings over and and over - honore, leitweight, chocker, etc. He's spelled those words that way for over 30 years, because he's an idiot who can't spell.

You made a bad attempt to score cheap points by citing a typo I made.

We both know that's a disingenuous argument. I can obviously spell, I'm obviously not a moron, I'm obviously not senile, I'm obviously not suffering from dementia. You can't say the same about Trump. There's overwhelming evidence to suggest all those things about him.

Let's put it this way - and I'm being earnest here - what specifically do you think I'm exaggerating or wrong about Trump?

I'm fairly confident I can back up all of my claims with mountains of direct evidence - he's a coward, he has thin-skin, he's an idiot, he's senile, he's a sociopath, he's a failure at business and negotiation, and he's showing major signs of dementia.

You tell me, in good faith, what aspects of that you disagree with, and I'll present my case. I'm pretty confident I can make convincing arguments backed with evidence on all counts.

And as for country - I have no faith in institutions, no. I have faith in people. But not institutions.

What exactly, do you admire about politicians, Democrat or Republican, to make you disdain my assertion that they're all crooks who fail their constituents?

I don't know about all that.

I simply pointed out your spelling screw ups. And, like you did/do with Trump in calling him stupid for his screw ups, I held you to the same standard. That's all.

It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!
