I hate Notre Dame, but all this Quinn bashing is bogus IMO. Let the kid fall or fly before curb stomping him.

Anyone bashing Quinn because of who he played for, his draft day slide to 22 or his contract status is an idiot.

The Browns have the best fans in the NFL but unfortunately a small percentage of those fans, are the worst in the NFL at times...go figure!

BTW, Brady Quinn does not get to set in on these contract negotiations...he hired experienced agents to do that for him since the Browns have their own "experienced" negotiating team.

Relax, Browns fans...we know those of you bashing Quinn now would be denying you ever bashed Quinn should he help the Browns to a few wins...so lighten up, ok?

mac, I really hate it when you hold back man,,, Come on,, tell us what you really think

yeah, Quinn bashing because of his school doesn't make any sense... Not at all,,,

Bashing him because of the hold out is pre mature.. But there are nagging rumors that he and his agent want money equal to a much higher pick in the draft....

For whatever reason, Quinn dropped to 22... you can say it's for this reason or that reason,,, all I know is, he was drafted at 22.

Because he's a QB, he probably should receive greater bucks than say a WR or RB picked at 22. And certainly, he should get more than what the number 22 pick got last season,,,,

But if the rumors are correct that Condon is wanting Top 10 pick money,,, then he's nuts

just clicking...

people are so hung up on the QB thing...brings out so much emotion...i could care less one way or another about Quinn until i see him play for us, but to everyone jumping down the 'bashers' throats...

this whole thing started b/c one poster said that it's less important to have him in camp than it is Thomas and Wright...given that those 2 have very real chances to start, while most of us feel it's in Quinn AND the team's best interests to sit for awhile, what doesn't make sense about that comment?...

and the dumbass thing probably had nothing to do with Notre Dame (WTF cares about ND?...college fans are so touchy), considering people were calling Thomas and Wright the very same thing 24 hours ago for not having signed...

VERY SWEET!!! This is awesome news. Our secondary is going to be lethal, Wright, Bodden, Jones, and Poole. Throw in Baxter and Holly and we some excellent depth.

According to Pat Kirwin yesterday on Sirius radio..."Moving The Chains"....
the general salary increase over last years slotting is to be around 8%.

108% of a whole lotta money is a..really whole buncha money!

I think I'll simply say this about the signings (not necessarily the money, because we'll see how all the salary cap hits pan out):

Its a good day already....

Quinn will probably sign soon now that he's all we're concentrating on. He'll get more that #22 money....we all know it. But the Browns FO won;t get bent over in the deal.

I'd say look for something that equates to late teens money and a whole lot of incentives. Its the only fair way to pay BQ. It takes into account both factors.... base salary equates to roughly where he was picked but he has a chance to earn top 10 money if he plays like a top 10 player.

Well, those "worst fans" support every team in every sport. You can log onto to Cleveland.com and read some Indians fans bashing the team after a loss. They go on about how we suck and we'll never make it to the playoffs....yet we still have the 3rd best record in the league. And I hear Cubs, Sox, Bears and Bulls fans talk like that all the time (funny, the Blackhawk fans are 100% right).

Some fans are the glass is half empty kind. Some fans are the glass is half full kind. And some fans are the glass is completely freaking empty cause we suck and we'll never win anything kind too.

Needless to say GREAT NEWS!!! Both Thomas and Wright in camp for Friday Afternoon and right there to win starting jobs and provide an impact in year one for us!!!

Also good news it appears BQ has given Condon a "GET ME IN CAMP...NOW!!!" directive so that negotiations finally have taken a turn in the right direction and word is an agreement is now in sight! Please note I ASSume the directive by BQ cause negotiations don't change 180 degrees like that without the athlete expressing the wish to his agent!

What does Condon care he's probably planning BQ's holdout in 2010's Training Camp already

This is awesome!

IMO there is nothing more important than having the OL playing as a unit - so getting Thomas in camp on time is huge. Way to go Phil!

I hope Wright is the "steal" pick in the draft so many people claim he was. My mom lives in Vegas and sent me an article from the paper there about him after the draft. The people close to him have great expectations as I'm sure he does. Should be fun to watch!

I see Brady signing very soon - to doubt how bad he want's to be in camp is crazy. If he's not ready to start so be it, but gettign him in camp and learning the system can only be a good thing, for him and our beloved team.

go browns!

Punch...like I said..."go figure"

But why be a "half empty" Browns fan part of the time, when you can be a "half full" Browns fan all of the time?

It's called "loyalty".

I know very well that those bashing Quinn now would think he was the best thing since wheaties if he threw a couple of touchdown passes that helped the Browns win a game. That is how quick the bashers can turn.

I believe some listen to the idiot talking heads on the radio and tv way too much. Some of these talking heads are no better than some of the fans on here who are bashing Quinn for any number of reasons.

Why any "true" Browns fan would lower themselves to the standards set by these radio and tv talking heads, who are no more than half hearted Browns fans, is beyond me. I guess it's much easier to follow than use your own brain to figure out what is going on?...

Some of these radio/tv guys are simply talking crap to make their phone lines light up. The more people listening to their dung, the better their ratings. The more ridiculous their claims, the more the fans get stirred up. Don't allow yourselves to be used by the talking heads on the radio, especially.

I don't care if Quinn holds out for half a season, he's still one of my Browns and I will support him. Like I said, Quinn is represented as are the Browns. If you want to be upset at anyone, be upset at the negotiators.

Don't like the Browns?...move on to another team that suits your standards.

See mac I see a problem with the optimistic fans because most are over-optimistic. Most on this board will predict 8-8, 9-7...etc but reality we are going to go 4-12, 5-11.

There is a balance between optimism/realism and flat out being delusional

I appreciate that point-of-view, mac. I've also adopted the view of "separation of elements": I won't judge a player until he actually plays in my team's colors. What he did in college is a non-issue for me. Where he went to college is a non-issue for me. What he does once he takes the field is a very big issue for me.

If negotiations drag on between a player's agent and a team, it's a business issue... not a sports issue. I reserve my right to judge Condon and Savage for their performances, as this is their gametime.

By keeping these two elements separate in my mind, I don't spill my haterade for Condon & Phil into Brady's or Joe's cup. Works alot better that way, for me.

Now, if the players show up to camp fat, stupid and out-of-shape, it's Judgement Day for them, as well... but that was covered at the end of my first paragraph.

Both sides know the issues, both sides know the stakes. Having Quinn hold out until the first week of preseason (or beyond) is in NOONE'S best interest-including Condon's.

p.s. My other position: "Radio & TV guys are strictly for entertainment purposes only. If you believe even one word they say, I have some oceanfront property in Kansas i'd like you to look at..."

People still bash Braylon on a daily basis for being from Michigan. Naturally they will bash Brady because he was from Notre Dame. Unfortunately, most Browns fans are OSU fans and I have some opinions on those guys I'll keep to myself.

You people just don't get it.

I don't give a crap if Brady is from ND and I don't give a crap if Braylon is from Michigan.

It doesn't matter where they have BEEN. It only matters where they ARE and WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

Ya'll need to get a clue.

Oh we get it, but when people say things about WHERE they are from...those are the people I'm talking about. OMG Braylon dropped a ball, send him back to Michigan.

Maybe you should post your feelings about Wright and Thomas in the thread about them,oh wait, this is that thread.
It's a good day to be a Brown's fan.The two guys that should provide the biggest impact this year are in camp, that's good.I really don't care about Brady and Braylon, this day doesn't belong to them.
BTW,I don't care if they went to the U of Tehran, they're Browns now.

On the Browns official site...They have a poll....which will likely start....

Thomas or Wright........I thought there should have been an option C....both........Thomas has it by many votes......

My opinion on those 2 players.....I don`t often post on a player untill...They have some time on a NFL team.......Big diff from collage ball......But I do hope they both make a positive difference for this team..........

Yeah, I saw that poll and thought 75% of folks are nuts...

Which is MOST LIKELY to start?

If it was which would I like most to start, it would be Thomas, but the most likely is Wright if for no other reason than the spot he is going to occupy is currently vacant. Thomas has an incumbent he has to beat out... Wright has already spent time in minicamps with the 1st Team.

Like most I think getting these two signed was the priority. I would not mind seeing Quinn take a year with the clipboard and see what we have with Fyre and Anderson behind a good O-line.

Things have been going very good since FA and I'm hoping it carries into the season. Every dawg has its day and it seems that ours keeps getting closer.
