I hope the Jags win also. Really don't want to see the Pats in yet another Super Bowl.

It looked like he was lining up the receiver for a big hit but realized he was going to be early, so to avoid pass interference, he pulled up. I’m sure it’s beaten into the safeties minds in that situation, DONT GET A PENALTY! Although, not letting him get by you is another cardinal sin.

Wow!

Too many defenders try big wrecking ball type hits with their heads down instead of having their head up to see what the heck is going on. It burned the Saints big time!

That's the way we would lose a playoff game although we have already lost a few in bazaar fashions. Oh well, we have to get to one before we can do anything good or bad!! thumbsup

Looked to me like he was hell-bent on undercutting him so he would land on his back and not get out of bounds. I'd be willing to bet the D coaches preached it on the sideline during the TO.

Here come the conspiracy theories. Some are saying Williams was paid off and fell down on purpose to let the Vikings win. I don't believe it. Just a huge mistake made by a rookie.

Rookie safety Marcus Williams feel to his knees on his way to locker room after his missed tackle cost saints the game and then inside the locker cried with his head in his hands.

His timing and aim were off. Maybe he thought there was someone behind him that could make the tackle if he missed? I don't know.

That’s the new internet fad. Heck, if the Saints picked off that last pass, there would be fans saying the league paid off Keenum. No matter what happens, conspiracists go nuts.

Eagles traded N. Foles to Rams for S. Bradford. Foles lost his job in St. Louis, C. Keenum takes over. Eagles draft C. Wentz and trade Bradford to Minn. Vikings sign Keenum, who replaces injured Bradford. Foles returns to Philly, replaces injured Wentz. Now, Foles vs. Keenum.

I haven't seen the lines on the games, but I have to assume the Pats will be a 8-10 pt favorite and the Vikes will be a 3-4 point

That's why the fundamentals of tackling are so important, yet we continue to see players tackling like this on the NFL,and they get a pass by fans and the media.

Inadmissible both for Williams and the Saints coaching staff.

Heard some talking head saying that he was afraid to get called for pass interference.

Regardless, I still feel for the kid. That's a stage I can't comprehend performing on.

I agree that the fundamentals of tackling are horrible in the NFL and college. Williams tried to undercut Diggs instead of wrapping him up. I don't like the head down, wrecking ball approach to tackling. Not only can a player get seriously hurt, He can get embarrassed and look like an idiot like Williams did.

Even if he did get called for PI. That would have been a heck of a field goal try. Williams just blew it big time. He will be known as one of the biggest goats in sports history!

We see this in almost all games, yet the players and coaches get a pass from the fans...

We are going to see it on draft day, players that don't know how to tackle and getting a pass and being drafted high in the first round.

This is something I do not understand, honestly. Nobody would draft a lineman that stands straight on the line of scrimmage, so why its ok for Db's and Lb's that do not know how to tackle?

Its probably a fixation I have, but I can't understand it

How would making a proper tackle make a difference on the PI call...

You never, ever lower your eyes, to start with...

There is nothing you can't do better with hitting that you can't do with proper tackling.

I don't get the "didn't want to PI" crap. He could have let him catch the ball and then just tackle him, game over. poor fundamentals lead to this kind of thing. These players live for highlight reels on the dozens of crappy NFL shows hosted by former players.

RIP, Jim
