I was thinking the same thing. When you get THAT zonked out on drugs? Sometimes you don't want to live anymore. Then again, maybe he was enjoying it, at least somewhat, and his heart just conked out?

He lived the rock 'n'roll dream and unfortunately died a not uncommon rock 'n' roll death.

I really admired Tom Petty's music. I am so appreciative of posters talking out of their ass in an attempt to trash his name after he has passed away.

What joy do people get in such a morbid conversation. Do you feel better about yourselves? Pfffttttt

Fentanyl is the devil. My pain doctor had put me on the patches, several years ago, and I darn near threw myself out the 2nd story window of my house. When I went to the ER, they said that there was no way Fentanyl could cause such a reaction.

Now all I see is news about Fentanyl sending people to the grave, left and right.

I loved his music. Still do.

I don't know that anyone is trashing his name right now.

Guy died from drugs. At least 1 of them, illegal.

Some doctors have said there is no way a doc. would prescribe all the legal drugs he was taking.

Those are facts.

How is stating facts an attempt to trash his name?

My point is that the dude is dead. It's not like he is using and we talk about it in order for him to correct his issues.

It's sad news indeed. He was a great entertainer and while his music wasn't complicated, it was very relatable. I've never judged an artist based on political views or drug use. When it comes to music, movies or painters, I judge those people by their art and nothing else.

Their private life and political views are really none of my business. I've never felt it a proper thing for me to deny myself good art based on emotional things.

Oh, BTW, the Dixie Chicks are awesome live. If you ever get a chance, don't let their petty views of Bush prevent you from seeing them.

I don't know their views were restricted to President Bush, but I agree, the Chicks are very good.
