I'm lacking any sort of drive to get excited for this game. Anyone else feeling the same way?

I'll watch it ... but I sure can't say why.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

I love football. I love watching it.
I like learning from what I watch. I like offering educated opinions from actually watching games instead of repeating BS from uneducated sources.
So yeah, I'm into this game.

honestly, ive never been a huge fan of the super bowl. sure it's nice to have a party, eat food, and watch the spectacle .. but it seems too over the top with everything besides the game
it almost seems too unlike every other game
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I'm lacking any sort of drive to get excited for this game. Anyone else feeling the same way? As with YTBF, I am sure I will tune it in, but I have never liked either one of those teams. In most years there is at least 1 team I tend to pull for. I guess I will hope the Eagles win. NE has had it's sweet candy. I wouldn't mind the bitter pill handed to them.

Always excited for the Superbowl! Seven of the last ten games have been within 6 points. Best 10 year stretch in the history of the game. I think the earlier playoff rounds are more exciting because there are more games and more subplots but the SB is for all the marbles. The only thing deflating is knowing I'll wait 7 more months for meaningful football!

I can't get excited about a game knowing the result or fix is already in ... for the Patriots!!!

Ehhhhhhhhhhh, I think my sport passion and etc has taken a dive this year, including all sports.
It's feasible I won't even watch the SB. If I do, it'll likly be more sway for the commercials than watching NE win another ring.
Truthfully, I'm ready for next season of football hahaha. I'm trying to forget this one.

I just heard the NFL refused to let an ad from a veterans group supporting our flag and national anthem air ...
If thats true ... i won’t even turn it on ....
If it is true ... they best hope it don’t circulate cause that will kill their ratings .... witch are going to be bad enough as it is ...

For the first time in a long time, I'm not hosting a superbowl party. Just not feeling it this year. I'll get excited once I get my numbers for the pools I'm in and root for score that will make me some money.

Connecticut is the Mason-Dixon line of professional sports.
The top half of the state is predominantly Boston fans, the bottom half is predominantly New York sports fans.
Rocky Hill is real close to the geographic center of the state and the mix is 50/50.
Living in Connecticut, I get a great secondary affect from the Patriots being in and winning Superbowls.
Those fans are in really good moods. And when you have to interact with them, they're happy, cheerful, generally more helpful.
If the Patriots win the Superbowl again, Patriots' fans will be in "a glow" for weeks. Sometimes longer.
Something I'd love to see for Cleveland. DawgTalkers would be a lovefest rather than the nitpicky combative place it is now.
Winning the Superbowl is nothing like when the Cavs won the NBA Title - the NBA is a distant third sport in popularity.
Everybody has Superbowl parties. Whether their team is in it or not.

I'll never not watch it. But enthusiasm? Not even close.
Fingers crossed for a good game. I hope the Pats lose but I don't HATE them, Bill, & Brady like so many others do.

I'll probably watch it just to root against the Pats, I'm just sick of them winning. Beyond that, meh

yeah, sort of lost a lot of feeling this season...Browns 0-16 didn't help. Players kneeling took a lot out of me. Also constantly on pain killers has me in a fog a lot.
hope its noticeable in my posting...lol

I'm sure it will be on and I will pay some attention to it. I'm sick of the Patriots, though I have full respect for what they do. I struggle to root for the Eagles because their fans are obnoxious as hell. In the end though, I probably still hope the Eagles win.. another team off the list that has never won it.. narrow that list, while the Browns can't win a game.. awesome.

None.
I wil watch it, the game. We hate the atrocious half time garbage. The NFL is slowly strangling the cash cow in the opinion of wife and self. So, we watch and eat. But excitement is not a word I relate to this nonsense. And it spreads to a lot of "the NFL Experience." Has nothing to do with squatting or standing or flags or other media memes. We just do not find it as riveting as say five years ago. Somewhere, I think the NFL lost track of the fans, and I believe Haslam has. That or it has gone so far that we really can see the truth there all along. My NFL is more habit than excitement. Wins would help. But it is beyond that for me.

The match up fails to intrigue any ounce of interest from me. Foles winning would end up as a cool story, but Philly fans....ugh.

I'm rooting for my squares.
I'd prefer to see Tom Terrific win only b/c I think Philly fans are trash. Millie didn't deserve that banner.

My wife and I have our own SB party every year. Just the two of us and our pups. It’s the only game she’ll sit down and watch. Without the benefit of matches, we get pretty lit. We snack like mad and give way too many bad things to our pups. We all have a good time. If the game is bad or the commercials are bad, it doesn’t really matter, we’re just enjoying our time together.

I have no interest. Tired of the Patriots and don't like Eagles fans. Will probably have it on in the background while I do something else, but won't be clearing my night just to watch it.
It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!

There were a lot of reasons to either watch or not watch the game, but I think I am the only one who said he likes watching football.
That kinda explains some things...

First of all, I wasn't slamming you. I reread my first post in this thread and it sounded snarky towards you. I apologize and promise that was not my intent. I probably just read a post from someone like jfan on another thread. LOL
My intent isn't much. I just am saying that I watch a lot of football and it astounds me when people get real critical of our play calling and game management and they don't even watch other games.
Stuff happens in games when you are a coach. Things happen fast. All coaches make some mistakes.
For example...........Shanny was an idiot when he was here. He was a genius in Atlanta. He started off as a moron in SF and then they trade for JG and is a genius again. LOL.....come on, bro.......it's funny.

Looks like it's true Diam... https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/jan/23/veterans-group-denied-super-bowl-ad-accuse-censors/Veterans group denied Super Bowl ad time accuses NFL of censorship By Carlo Muñoz - The Washington Times - Tuesday, January 23, 2018 A decision by the National Football League to deny a veterans group TV ad time during this year’s Super Bowl has the vets group claiming liberal bias on behalf of the league. The ad by AMVETS, “a non-partisan, volunteer-led organization” consisting of mostly World War II veterans according to the group’s website, portrayed images of veterans saluting the American flag alongside the hashtag #PleaseStand. The $30,000 advertisement, which was slated to run during Super Bowl LII between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles, was the group’s effort to push back against the growing trend of NFL players kneeling during the national anthem — in protest of mistreatment and abuse of African-American and other minorities at the hands of law enforcement. Group members told Military Times on Monday their ad proposal was dismissed outright by league officials, who did not provide details as to why the veterans group would not be allowed to purchase airtime during the Super Bowl. AMVETS National Commander Marion Polk said the decision smacked of censorship by the NFL. We respect the rights of those who choose to protest, as these rights are precisely what our members have fought — and in many cases died — for,” he said. “But imposing corporate censorship to deny that same right to those veterans who have secured it for us all is reprehensible and totally beyond the pale.” NFL officials did not comment on their decision to deny the group TV time during the game

Thanks for being cool. I was reviewing some of my recent replies to you and yours to me. You've been cool and I was just speaking in generalizations and not understanding personalities. I apologize.
But bro, I promise that I wasn't intentionally dogging you in these recent posts. Just an oversight, but still........my apologies.

The NFL is making some dumb ass mistakes. The NFL said it rejected the ad because it made a "political statement." Hmmm, last years ads including shaming people for not accepting same sex marriage and an ad in full support of illegal immigration.

Hmmm, last years ads including shaming people for not accepting same sex marriage and an ad in full support of illegal immigration. NFL is going to realize theres alot more people supporting God and country and when you start marginalizing veterans and the military, while allowing public political protests from your employees, you're going to lose that battle. Especially when your revenue comes directly from the very people you're offending and marginalizing
