Nice way to change the subject and continue on your rant.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

That’s why I’ve always believed the only QB he chose was RG3, and that was a literal no risk, all reward situation that didn’t work out, in a season where we was gonna be bad no matter what.

Yeah, had RG3 not gotten hurt in the first game that season may have gone much differently. Later in the season he won the only game we did win. I'm thinking there may have been a better record if not for his injury.

I hope all the posters are seeing what guys like Vambo, jfan, device, and Cle are up to..........yet again. It's not about the truth. It's about personalities and agendas.
That is why I didn't post a link. It gets posted and it's irrelevant to those guys and they just turn it around and keep on w/the personal insults. If I fight back, I'm the one who gets suspended. Pffttttt............ I find it odd that you accuse those that disagree with you as being ref's. I find it odder that you, in the past, many times accused me of being a ref. And I find it strikingly ironic that your last vacation coincided with my last vacation to a T. Now, perhaps all you were doing was defending yourself? Perhaps all I was doing was defending myself? But, we both got to go on vacation. Do you think, if I were a ref, I'd have banned myself?

Nor can they stop people believing that Hue's great desire for an answer to the franchise QB position was Kessler, a third round pick rated between rounds 5th and 7th and an inaccurate Kizer at pick #52, the fourth overall QB taken in the draft.
Those picks are the picks of analytics, not a football guy. Bingo...pit nailed it..Kessler was the Harvard Boys answer to show Hue how Depo, Sashi and Berry use their analytics to pick a real QB.
Just to show what kind of guy Hue was...when The Boys started getting a raft of crap from the fans and media over the Kessler pick, Hue made it sound like he made the pick with his "trust me" comment..thus taking the heat off The Harvard Boys. I think that is your opinion. Those guys leaned on Hue. Kessler was a Hue pick. I can guarantee you one thing.
A Offensive minded coach with a bevy of draft picks is not going to GET HIS GUY in the 3rd round. That makes no sense Peen. Hue definitely agreed that Kessler was accurate and why he could "LIVE" with the pick. But you don't go into the draft looking to take a 3rfd round pick as your QB of choice.

None the less....
It doesn't matter at this point. There is a whole new game in town. I hope it works for all, because if it does, then it works for me.
If we draft a solid QB who plays 15 years....the odds are I won't be alive in 15 years. 84-85 beats the odds. I don't care about chalk talk. I don't care about coaches, players, or anything else except winning games.
Just start winning games. If we do that, all is good. If we don't, fire everybody every year for all I care. Just win.
When your window starts to close, so does the patience level. I'd like to celebrate my last championship as most of you celebrate your third. It would be a good ending to a long love affair. Then you can carry the torch for the next wave of young bucks..
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn. GM Strong

All I know is I have a lot more confidence in our new FO getting the right players than I did the old one.
Things can always go sour, but I feel that things are finally looking up for the Browns.

Well, Hue wasn't given anyone he didn't want. So.... I'm not sure how anyone can come to the conclusion that Hue is the one who botched the QB position yet he was kept and Sashi was fired. I mean none of that makes any sense. It makes sense if you change the narrative. You're assuming Sashi was fired because he didn't bring a quarterback. One thing people forget is that Sashi wasn't the talent evaluator. We are also exactly where the plan said we'd be, in prime position to make huge strides in year 3.

But I started to lose faith when we passed up on Wentz. I think this is the best FO we have had since 99, not even close and it comes at probably the most opportune time.
I know Haslam gets a bad rap around here. But he actually did this right. Right guys, Right time.
For once things are coming up roses around here.
Key for me will be how we handle the QB thing. And I'm not putting all my chips in one of the prospect. I trust that Dorsey/Hue will due what is needed and make the right choice in a prospect and Vet QB!

Haslam earned every bit of the so called "bad rap" and damaged a once proud franchise, by taking the franchise to it's lowest point ever.

Yeah mac, lowest point ever. But the damage done to this once proud franchise started in 1999 and has been going along that same path ever since. Granted, Haslem's decisions got us to this new standard of low when related to the 'old, proud, franchise', but the standard set by the 12 years before him was not much better. Better than 0-16, yes, but not much better.

On your suggestion I bought and read most of Ron Wolf's book, " The Packer Way : Nine Stepping Stones to Building a Winning Organization". I got about 2/3 of the way through it but then lost it during a move and never replaced it. Anyway, we now have 3 of his disciples in our FO including the head man. I'm excited to see what these heavy-hitters can do with this organization over a 3-5 year period.

It makes sense if you change the narrative. You're assuming Sashi was fired because he didn't bring a quarterback. One thing people forget is that Sashi wasn't the talent evaluator. We are also exactly where the plan said we'd be, in prime position to make huge strides in year 3. There's only one problem I see in what you're saying. You NEVER pass on a franchise QB. Never! Wentz is that QB and I believe it's quite possible that ownership may see Watson in that same light. I think it's pretty obvious that the Haslams feel he failed in his #1 priority, the QB. The very first thing that was said when Dorsey was hired was that his #1 priority was to solve the QB position. Seems to me that made it pretty obvious that the person responsible for addressing that problem before Dorsey was hired failed to do that.

Seems to me that made it pretty obvious that the person responsible for addressing that problem before Dorsey was hired failed to do that. I don't disagree about finding a franchise quarterback. But again you're assuming things. I think our entire organization made it clear they didn't think Wentz was the guy. That includes Hue who is on record saying he didn't want Wentz at 2. Depodesta was the one speaking on behalf of the organization who "said" they didn't feel Wentz was top 20. Hue said he didn't want Wentz at 2. Yet both are still here. In fact almost everyone is still here except Sashi who wasn't even the talent evaluator. I don't think Hue is still here because he was a "victim." I think it's obvious (to me) that Haslam knew his current dynamic wasn't working yet he knew stability was necessary. In his my mind this was the best option. I think he could have easily kept Sashi and fired Hue, but the NFL circles Haslam spoke with said keeping the HC was far more important, plus it didn't hurt that Hue is "well respected" within the league. Dorsey didn't come to replace Sashi, he's here to replace the entire system that was in place. "Those guys, that system, they didn't get real players." Remember that? The system included Hue.

Especially now that we've got a three-man group of Ron Wolf trained FO personnel. From the info in the book you'll be better able to understand the "why" of what Dorsey does what he does.

You keep saying these things and that's fine if that's what you believe.
But I look at results. The results indicate who Haslam gave the responsibility to and who failed to deliver. People keep trying to pass the buck onto Hue yet Hue remains and Sashi was fired.
People keep trying to pretend that there aren't legitimate reasons and logic as to why things panned out that way. I don't believe any of that makes sense.

People keep trying to pretend that there aren't legitimate reasons and logic as to why things panned out that way. I don't believe any of that makes sense. No worries. Just talking it thru... I understand how people can come out with Sashi looking like the bad guy. But I think you have to take a look at all the facts to reach the truth. The facts don't add up that Sashi was fired simply because he didn't bring us a quarterback. But I can definitely see how people come to this conclusion and want to believe that was the truth. Looking at all the facts I don't believe that narrative makes sense. And yes, I believe a lot of what's been "said" is the truth.

I just keep in mind that's what's said is what people want you to hear. Much of what happens is never said. I don't believe any of us really know what has gone on behind the scenes. And I don't believe that the only reason Sashi was fired is about the QB position. I do however believe it was the largest contributing factor.

I said it before - Sashi and a guy like Dorsey, from the off, could have really worked. Anyway. As long our team starts kicking butt and taking names in September (and winning), I don't really care

Kenny Britt says days with Browns "don't count" Former Browns WR throws shade at Browns, rips Hue Jackson https://247sports.com/nfl/cleveland-brow...count-114564352Wide receiver Kenny Britt will be forever linked to 2017's 0-16 Cleveland Browns. The difference between Britt and his teammates in Cleveland, however, is that he has a chance at a Super Bowl ring. Speaking with media on Wednesday, Britt, now with the New England Patriots, discussed how lucky he feels to be with a Super Bowl team, despite being inactive for both of the Patriots' playoff games. "I'm pretty sure everybody else would (consider me that)," said Britt, according to a report by Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. "My wife does. I'm glad to get the opportunity to be in a place where I'm well-respected and the guys are glad for me to be here." That statement, of course, piqued the question of whether he felt disrespected in Cleveland. "To tell you the truth, I really don't think about those times when I was Cleveland," he said. "Too busy getting ready for games. We're still playing." To leave no doubt exactly what he thought of his time with the Browns, Britt corrected a Boston Globe columnist who stated that he has played for five teams during his NFL career. "We don't count Cleveland,'" said Britt. Britt also took the opportunity to take a shot at Browns head coach Hue Jackson, whom the veteran wide receiver clashed with. "Good players, good teams, can’t overcome bad coaching.’ Simple as that," Britt told ESPN's Tony Grossi.
"Dilly dilly. That's my response. That's all I have for him."When Britt was signed by the Browns prior to the 2017 season, the expectation was that he would be a reliable, veteran presence both on the field and in the locker room. However, Britt played poorly early on, and then was disciplined and made inactive for games multiple times due to his behavior. When Browns General Manager John Dorsey cut Britt in December, he became just another figure in a long line of free agent busts for the Browns in the past two decades. Becoming persona non grata in Cleveland, however, has not cost Britt any sleep. "Being cut by Cleveland definitely wasn't my lowest point in the NFL and it's definitely something to knock off the shoulder and put behind me. Lesson learned. I'm on to another chapter in my life and I'm happy about it. I'd say my first couple of years of getting into a little trouble here and there and having my name out there on some bad things (was the lowest point). "I'm actually happy and blessed that so many things happened, bad and good because they mold me each and every day." In spite of all that has happened for him in 2017, Britt is now only a single game away from being able to call himself a Super Bowl Champion. There will be plenty of questions from the Cleveland faithful as to whether or not he has earned or deserves such a title.

Britt will end up being a horrible signing by Sashi and the FO, no doubt. That said, I think Britt is somewhat justified to be upset with how he was used upon signing with Cleveland. I think Hue simply didn't like/want him. It could be the locker room rumors we've all read about. It could be he was the guy signed and not Pryor for essentially the same contract. Britt was inactive in games, when IMO, he shouldn't have been. I'm not saying Britt is all that good, but he was better than some of the WRs that were active when Britt wasn't. I think there was something personal going on between Hue and Britt. Britt, and his agent, was clearly not professional about it upon his release the second Dorsey was hired (I'm sure a Jackson request/statement cut). It's extended into the Super Bowl.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.
