Just another example of what the left really thinks about Patriotic Americans. I would hate to hear this idiot's view on illegal immigrants.

That’s his opinion as an American.

That’s what you conservatives say when one of your peeps go on a racist rant.

As a teacher he should not be teaching expressing his opinion in the classroom. Especially, against a teen supporting the military with a Marines shirt. He should be terminated.

everybody expresses their opinion everywhere. i thought you conservatives didn't like people getting terminated for their opinions?

oh, it's only when it doesn't fit your agenda. if he was praising god and saying good things about the military, it would've been all good and a non story. smh

Dude is a teacher, Swish.

I don't think teachers should express those types of opinions on their students. I think a good teacher presents multiple sides and encourages their students to formulate their own opinions rather than force-feeding their opinions on their students.

Do we really need to go there? smh He said the military is the lowest of our lows correct? High school dropouts? Defending and protecting us is just one service these fine folks provide. A lot of products we buy, procedures we use are created by the 'dropouts' in the military. That teacher is a dumbass!

i disagree.

i loved hearing the opinions of my teachers/professors, even if i don't agree with them.

i dont see a problem with it whatsoever. we got parents teaching their kids to hate non whites and nobody says a word, but some dude goes on a rant against the military and fox news and their readers/viewers are triggered.

a lot of injustices around the world, and in some cases right here domestically, have been caused by the military as well.

so again, what did he say that was stupid?

and btw, when is the last time the military protected us from anything domestically?

we haven't been attacked by a foreign government since WW2.

I guess I missed it. What grade was the class he was teaching?

I am ok with opinions in college, because by then you've hopefully learned some critical thinking skills.

But if it was grade schoolers, something young like that, they are still learning how to think and are very impressionable.

So I think it depends.

I think it was high school. Rants like this are everyday/ every hour occurrences in colleges.

This idiot should be fired for his language and verbal attack on his student.

I guess the only college course you took was Party 101.

The colleges I went to challenged your thinking.

I probably never had a professor with thinking that outrageous, and probably the opinions were presented a bit more professionally.

But still, critical thinking was required.

did you actually listen to the videos?

first, he wasn't even wrong about the L's we've been taking left and right since WW2. those are straight up facts.

second, clearly the teacher was speaking to that kid in a way to try and get him motivated in school before he doesn't have a choice but to join the army.

and he has a point. people are always like "oh, ill join the military and get the GI Bill"

yea, my boy i deployed with was all about that too.....til he was no longer alive to use it.

obviously it's a case by case basis, but i don't have a problem with a teacher trying to make sure his students take school seriously before they end up feeling like they don't have a choice but to go into the military just to get an education.

end up joining for all the wrong reasons, just like i did.

No he was pushing his extremist left wing views on his student in a verbal attack with profanity. He should be fired.

Swish, I am not one of the guys who is a Conservative or Trump supporter.

Listen again........a good teacher allows students to investigate all sides of an argument and then asks them to make their own independent evaluations.

Swish, I would--and have said--the same damn thing if the message was from the opposite side.

i didn't call you a conservative or trump supporter.

everybody seems to have different thoughts on what makes a "good" teacher.

and for you all know, maybe the teacher said things that he never heard before. maybe he actually presented the other side of the argument since he was only getting one side from home.

This is 100% correct. Teachers have to be careful that there position doesn't become a bully pulpit. I don't care what their religion or political beliefs are they should not be cramming them down students throats.

I am all for letting them having a fair and open debate. I often have my students argue both sides of the debate. One week they argue for one point and then the next week they argue the other side. It's amazing how it tends to make people kinder towards each other when you do it this way too.

I always tell my students to question everyone and everything including me. Do the research, provide evidence that supports your argument, find and discuss the counter argument, and do it all while being respectful of the other person's point of view even if you think they are bat crazy because cruelty will not win an argument, having the best argument will.

The teacher only brought it up because he was wondering why Military Recruiters were allowed on High School campuses. It sounds like he might've been providing the opposite side... I don't know, all I do know is that those Recruiters can be scumbags. I've had a bunch of friends enlist in the Army right out of high school and some of those kids were told not to report medical diagnosises, because it could cause too much red tape.

Not sure about other people, but I've never stated anything of the sort. I've always said the only thing that shouldn't happen is the GOVERNMENT punishing you for free speech. They shouldn't force you to do something against your beliefs, they shouldn't arrest you for having a questionable opinion, and they really shouldn't be telling you what to do or say.

After that, if you want to boycott some racist guy's business, then by all means. Freedom of speech isn't freedom from consequence. That was even my opinion back on the the alt-right march threads. If some nazi wants to spew off hatred during a march, then he should be free to. If he comes back home to unemployment, then that's his employers prerogative. If someone wants to boycott the employer for his stance, then that's their right as well.

The best teacher I had was my 9th Grade Civics teacher - the first day of class someone asked him if he was dem/rep. he stated that his job was to teach about the Constitution, not politics. He stated that when we graduated, he would answer that question to us if we still wanted to know.

FYI - he was a republican.

not evidence evidence on how the left and liberals hate America. Reagan gave amnesty to those criminal illegal aliens. seems like a conservative thing.

Why do liberals hate this country is beyond me. This is the greatest country on earth.

How can you tell they hate this country here are just a few examples.

They burn the flag.
Do not stand for the national anthem.
Take prominent figures from our past and remove them from the history books.
Take down monuments from our past.
Shelter illegal immigrants at the expense of natural born citizens.
Took the pledge of allegiance out of schools.

Do you see a pattern here?

All of these end up protected under The Constitution of The United States of America. I suggest you read the section that's known as The Bill of Rights for further education on this topic.

A bit ironic coming from someone accusing others of hating America, but yet you fail to understand the actions you hate get protected by The Constitution of The United States of America.

This remains an opinion. Please state factual proof of this occurring. It's not about your feelings, but it's about actual facts. Facts determine the law of the land, and facts determine the outcomes in America.

Quote:

All schools I've ever attended, worked at, or visited all say the pledge.

Now you may say "well, why are some kids not saying the pledge, or why are they not standing."

For that, I refer once again to The Constitution of The United States of America. And as before, check out the Bill of Rights section.

Please don't use me to further your agenda. I was not supporting Republicans when I criticized that teacher.

I was just saying that good teacher doesn't force his/her opinions on students. He/she encourages them to examine all sides of an issue, debate fairly and w/intelligence, research, and be willing to adjust one's opinions as one gains more knowledge and understanding. A good teacher has a goal of his/her students being capable of forming their own intelligent opinions rather than forcing his/her opinions down the throats of impressionable youths.
