I wonder if the “Hair Club for Men” works. I’m not interested in it. At 61 with a receding hairline, that is the least of my manifestational concerns (made-up way of saying - the way I look). My granddads were bald and my oldest brothers are bald (at 70+). They weren’t until maybe 60+. Had I started losing my hair at a young age, I doubt I would have cared too much. But that’s easy for me to say today isn’t it? I’m not sure, but I assume toupees are a thing of the past. Bald is a fairly fashionable look today. Especially with well-chosen, well-designed facial hair. But Hair Club for Men is actively advertising on TV. Does it work? If it does, I assume it’s very expensive. (I think I’ve seen coupons for something like $200 OFF) Would you consider it, did you do it? My 2018 License ID:

I saw a video on Facebook a few weeks ago that was funny. It was called something like: "The Shave Your Head and Grow a Goatee Club for Men". The language on it makes it un-linkable though.

I never got the shaved head look, but i have to admit, i have told my wife if i ever start losing hair up there I will probably just shave it. I never thought Homer Simpson/Bernie/Larry David look was the way to go.

Donating food to starving African children is the only scientifically proven way to regrow your hair. I'm surprised you didn't know this.

My father lost most of his hair. My 2 younger brothers have lost most of their hair. I still have all of my hair, and a sharp goatee to boot. I also have most of my natural color. (and am almost 55, as hard as that is to believe .... I feel like 95)

I know it's hard for some, but embracing old age is the best method. Fighting it doesn't fool anyone. When I see men doing the comb-over/wig thing or when women dye their hair, it's so obvious. Keep your weight under control and stay out of the sun, that's the best way to look younger than your real age. Adding or dying your hair just looks desperate.
I could still grow a full head of hair, but it's thinning a bit. I've been running with a no-attachment buzz or a shaved head for 10+ years. So much easier and very aerodynamic.

I dye my hair. I love it.
I had natural blonde hair through my 20s...but it gradually got darker as I got older. So, I help it along now. Looks fabulous.
Now, my actual haircut is a different story.

Sorry, I meant to say dying gray hair. If you want blue over brown or black over blonde, so be it. But if you're dying your hair to cover up gray hair, I think that's a bit lame.
But hey, that's only my opinion.

Saw a woman in the deli at work today, the last 4-5 inches of here hair was purple and blue.. the rest of her hair was gray, she had to be 55 years old. Honey, leave that to the teenagers...... not a good look for you.
I've been bald with the goat for many years now.

Perhaps you would consider multi-coloring your goat to look hip.

You have a point there. I have found that shaving my head, beard, eyelashes and eyebrows causes people to be nicer to me out there.

I've been bald with the goat for many years now. I've been solid gray for 13 years, but I have a full head of it, same goat though.

Hair Club works... at making them a crap ton of money. It's called a club for a reason, you pay a membership fee. You try different products and approaches month after month that they know won't work (at an outrageous fee). Once you have exhausted every simple solution, you're already in so deep that you opt for the "plugs" for like 6 grand.
My hair began thinning shortly after high school. Worked with it til 45 and shaved it off... Bald with a badass goat. I've had the goatee for 20 years and my wife won't let me shave it. Having a "good skull" helps. If you shave it all off and find out you have a melon like Jason Voorhees - you're in big trouble!

My 17 year old daughter has never once seen me without a goatee. Granted, it's graying by the day.
She also, for her first 14 1/2 years, had never seen me with hair. That changed 3 years ago though.

Yeah, the gray is getting out of control. Keep telling the wife I'm going to color it and she won't have it.
Did you get the plugs??

Did I get the plugs? NO WAY. I have a full head of hair. And even if I didn't, I prefer bald to having hair. Bald (shaving my head) was so much easier. I'm not bald - other than by choice. And right now, I have hair. I keep it short. Super short. Wifey doesn't want me buzzing my hair. So, for now, she wins.

I've been using both Rogaine (generic minoxidil, 5%) and finasteride for about 10 years now, give or take. They both definitely help but it's better to start sooner than later.

Around 28 I started thinning in the front and the back, and a race towards the middle ensued. It eventually stopped, but my hairline was gone. For a couple months I tried the combover, but it looked like hell, so I bought a Braun hair clipper set and started doing a buzzcut. Now I use the #1 shoe every 7-10 days or so. I had a goatee until today, but I looked in the mirror today and thought "Bleh, you again.". So I shaved my chin and left the mustache. Now, instead of an aging biker, I look like an aging porn star.

I guess I don't really care. I started losing my hair on the back of the crown about 15 years ago. I was around 48-50 years old.
I always combed my hair back, so it worked for a while, but it started shifting more to one side, then it didn't work anymore, so I went to the barber about 8 years ago, told him to give me a #2 buzz.
He asked he if I was sure. Said it was a life decision. I told him don't try to talk me out of it, just cut it.
He buzzed it. Best decision I have made hair wise. I love it. I now buzz it a #1 myself every Saturday or Sunday. I love short hair. No more combs in my back pocket.
My feeling is just go with the hand God dealt you. It's not like you don't see other balding men walking around the mall. Girls get it...their Dads were probably balding. It's just a part of being a man.

I shaved off my chin whiskers last Aug. Had a goatee for maybe 10-12 years, but I still have a "stash" Other than a 4 year stop in the Army in my late teens, early 20's, I have had a mustache since I could start growing one in my early/mid teens.
Well, I did shave it once when I was maybe 17....didn't like it and it was on the way back in 3-4 days.
A few years ago someone used or set my beard trimmer and had it set to the lowest position....ticked me off.....once I started, I had to go with it.
I may have done it, so I am not going to point fingers, but I have my suspicions.
