I've been on this site since it's beginnings and go back to 2001 with the old "Dawg Talk" board, (same software).

I've posted images a hundred times with no fail. I tried one today but my hosting site, Photobucket.com, now charges for what they call, '3rd party hosting'. So my pics from there will not show up on this site. They want paid and the amount is astronomical.

So I uploaded a pic to imgur.com. Everything went smooth but until I tried to post an image on here as all I get is a link, no image.

Uploading is easy.

The steps I followed to post on here:

1) In imgur, click on 'Image Link', (I also tried 'HTML') either way it copies automatically.

2) Click reply to a post, for instance.

3) Click on 'Enter an image' icon, a dialog box pops up

4) Paste the link into the dialog box and click 'ok'

5) When I 'preview post' all I get is the link underlined in white.

6) What gives?!

I've been doing this for over 16 years and now I'm dumb?

Here’s what I do.

When I see an image I like, I right click on it and click on “Save Image As…”

The image is downloaded to my computer.

I change the name of the image to “A” (just the letter A every time and the download automatically writes the new image over my last previous downloaded image) (otherwise I’d have thousands of images on my hard drive)

I go to IMGUR and click on “New Post”.

Then I click on “Upload Image”.

Then I click on “Browse”

I’m automatically taken to my downloads and I click on the new image (Identified as the letter A)

I click on “Open” and the Image appears on the IMGUR screen.

I place pointer over “Copy” (appears just to the right of the image)

I click on “Get share links” and then I click on “BBCode (Forums).

Then simply paste that into a DawgTalkers dialog box and the image should appear when you click “Preview Post”.

All free. Good luck.
