What about our starting lineup and rotations? Who would you name as your starters and what combos would you play?

You can do one for right now, but I am more interested in the lineups once Love comes back. My one concern is that JR wants to be the starter, but I don't think he should be. We might have appease his ass.

Here is some info that I have about our new guys. I play daily fantasy and try to stay up on this stuff, but I'm certainly no expert.

Hood is a tad over 6'8." He can play both SG and SF. He has a nice outside shot and can drive to the basket and hit pull-up J's in the paint. He isn't a great defender because he plays too high.

Clarkson is 6'5" w/a 6'8" wingspan. This guy is ultra quick and explosive. He can light you up. I think you guys will really like him. He's a tad inconsistent, especially w/his J. But, the dude can get to the hole. He's mostly a 2 Guard but can play the point.

Hill can play both SG and PG. He's pretty steady and a decent defender. He's not sensational, but he is a pro.

Nance is very athletic. He is 6'9" but has a 7'2" wingspan. He can jump out of the gym and is a good defender. His offensive game isn't refined and he relies on his athleticism too much which leads to some inconsistencies. He should become a fan favorite.

So, what do you guys think? Who starts? Who is on the second unit? And most importantly, who is on the floor during crunch time?

Until Love gets back, we might have to go:

TT
Nance
Lebron
JR
Hill

But that leaves us pretty clogged up in the middle. The only other option we have for big men are Green and ... erm, Lebron. So we don't have a lot of options. We really needed a big guy, despite the updrades we made yesterday. Maybe they're hoping for Brook Lopez or another buy-out in a few days here?

JR may also be on a short leash as well. He started the season on the bench, and I seem to remember him being a good teammate about it.

When Love comes back, I'd be tempted to go with:
Nance
Love
Lebron
JR
Hill

It makes us a little small, but it might work. Nance is essentially the same player as Thompson this year, but with better shooting. He'd probably struggle against the bigger Centers, but it seems like most teams are running small-ball anyway.

Hood has had a really good run here ... not been healthy always, but may be a surprise

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

swap out TT for green. Give you a pretty athletic front court, and yeah when love comes back, he takes greens spot. Also I think Hood will be the 2 not JR. Hood can get his own shot and is much more consistent than JR. Still amazed TT is still on the team, there was a funny meme about that floating around. His contract is so horrid there was no way we were unloading it without the nets pick

I just want to know who will play tonight. Apparently, none of the new guys are available in a few hours against the Hawks. We also called up 2-3 guys from the G-league.

Heck, if I can get to the arena fast enough, could I suit up?

#Cavs Coach Tyronn Lue confirms that none of the team's 4 new players will be active tonight vs #Hawks.

That means Clarkson, Hill, Hood & Nance will have 28 games to develop on-court chemistry w/ their new teammates:

14 at home
14 on road

Starting Sunday at 3:30pm at #Celtics

I'm thinking this is an insightful observation from my posts the last 1/2 year (since August 2017).

I'm still an optimistic person just not an optimistic Cleveland sport fan anymore.

Poor Zizic.

We have 9 active players and Zizic is the only one who hasn't gotten into the game.
Heck even John Holland has played almost 7 minutes

(This is with only 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter)

Good win since we were short handed

Team definitely had a spark. They actually looked like they had fun tonight playing. Defensive effort was there, hustle was there, no 4th quarter collapse.

I think the best part of the trades was getting rid of Thomas ...

Maybe not but it is kind of sad for. He can be pretty sure that he is not going to get any playing time in the future.

Update: Looks like Zizic got in with the Cavs up 15 and less than a minute to play. He got a rebound. Though it looks like we had a tenth active player - London Perrantes who actually got more playing time than Zizic.

Zizic is definitely a developmental guy. He has good height, with great reach and wingspan. He needs work, but he has been playing professionally since he was 16. He's only 21 now. It'll be interesting to see what becomes of him over th ecourse of the next year or 2.

So who came off th bench and scored a whopping three points? Unless Korver or Green were starters, if so please ignore that joke. I missed the first three quarters watching the opening ceremonies of the Olympics.

Hearing people talk about the Cavs these recent days compared to days before is just incomparable. Night to day. Oranges to Kiwi. Kiwi to canvas paintings... lol.

It's like we have a whole new team, but technically... we almost do lol. Hoping to see some of the new faces next game. Life has been brought back to the basketball team. Hopefully this lights the fire under LBJ's belt too and causes some hype. IMO, he has a reason to play here, and play with effort.

Holland (called up from D league) hit a 3 I think.

I credit the front office for doing this, because it's drastic and pretty ballsy. To just overhaul like that when you are technically a contender is straight balls.

I don't think in the long run it matters. The Warriors have 4 all stars, and we don't, but I can't see how these moves make us any worse than we have been for the majority of this season.

I didn't think Isaiah Thomas was that type of guy. I didn't really follow him day to day when he was on the Celtics, but it's pretty eye opening to see two guys, Thomas, and Wade, and how they handled themselves. Wade is a future hall of famer, who is obviously past his prime, but can still play, and he swallowed a lot of pride with the Cavs to make things work. Coming off the bench, not getting minutes, etc.. Thomas, who has never won anything in his life, doesn't want to come off the bench on a brand new team. Ok, guy.

And this is coming from someone who was never really a big fan of Wade. It clearly wasn't the best of fits to bring him in, we didn't really have a true role for him, and he still handled everything with total class.

Hopefully these new guys charge some energy into the team.

Sad to see Frye go. Good dude and a good player.

IT is already talking about a buyout if he doesn't start.

You also have to wonder how well Crowder and DRose were fitting in and also if LeBron and DWade were perhaps too good of friends.
