I don't care for abortion, but I recognize it's not my body.
While if I had the chance, I'd try to talk a young lady out of having an abortion, in the end, I know it's her decision because it's her body and her life. You don't know the circumstances in each individual case so you can't honestly say.
And again, it's not your body either.
But, these kids getting killed by someone that shouldn't be allowed to get a gun, especially a Semi Auto type, is insane.
Keep in mind, I'm not for Gun Control.. I like the idea that I can go out and buy a gun (so happens that I just don't want one) but if I did, I could.
Admittedly, I don't understand the need for an AR-15 but then again, lots of folks wouldn't understand my desire to have a 700HP car either.
Different strokes for different folks I guess.
But I'm against gun control
I am for MUCH STRONGER background investigations. I'm for LONGER WAIT TIME to receive your weapon. I'm for AGE requirements being raised to 21 for ANY GUN. I'm for STRONGER tracking of guns...(from manufacturer to present time)
If that makes me a liberal weenie, then so be it.

I'm for back ground checks on today's Parent's ! I'm for holding Parents accountable ( yes, I know a swear word )for the actions of their under age children .
The difference is that abortion rights were upheld.
And if it went to the courts today, it would continue to be upheld.
But this is the problem, you voted for trump based on one singular issue that he himself had no intentions on ever changing.
And now you’re own livelihood is changing because of it, for the worst.
Congrats for screwing your self over.

That's a typical NRA line... But it's basically true to a point.
How would you handle the parents of Nick Cruz.. dad died when he was 4 and Mother passed away fairly recently. My understanding is she wasn't very stable.
Do we go after his Mothers parents for not raising her right?

The point is accountability ; We have become a pass the Buck society .. No me culpa ! The caption of the father asking the two kids who's did it ; and they point at each other ..
Our modern day Politicians have it down to a science ..
The Cruz case is a tough one because of the Guardian situation . If they knew they would be held accountable , wold they have taken him in .. Would he have gone to an institution ??
There are so many things that went wrong with this one . Evil will always be with us . Some parts of history just seem to be worse than others. We are living in a dilly !
I don't care for abortion, but I recognize it's not my body.
High School kids being killed in Florida have nothing to do with your body either.

People being killed anywhere does not include YOUR body yet you get upset about a stranger killing them, while not being bothered by their own mother murdering them in her womb. I just have never understood that type of thinking.
Thinking about all the sperm that doesn't fertilize an egg, yet are able to survive and adapt for so long. It really amazes me what human life can do. I think any male who ejaculates without attempting to fertilize should be given the death penalty.
Sorry man, that's about as stupid a comment as I have read on this board.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

He already nominated one supreme court justice who could vote to overturn Roe V Wade. Also how in the heck can you say had no intentions of ever wanting to make abortions illegal again?
Now if Ginsburg (age 84), Breyer (79) or Kennedy (81) leaves the Court, either by retiring, or kicking the bucket their is a good chance Roe V Wade would be overturned.
Now as far as me screwing my livelihood over your 100 percent correct. However if Roe V Wade gets overturned then screw my livelihood I am willing to put my money where my mouth is when it comes to protecting innocent babies.
anyone catch that girl thanking her teacher for writing her "speech". Seems like once again these kids are being told what to say and when to say by indoctrination of a liberal teacher.
I also find it disgusting that these kids are being used as pawns by the media to push an agenda. CNN has plastered UNDERAGE children faces on TV non stop for a week - and are using them plain and simple. Its disgusting. Let these kids grieve.
I don't care for abortion, but I recognize it's not my body.

Again, it's about Choice. I don't have a choice in what a woman does. Actually, it appears I don't have a choice as to who gets killed without input either.

It's a shame that no one cares about human life on this forum. No one cares that sperm cells are living being. It would be disgusting if it wasn't so sad.
Sperm cells are not people. It takes two to tango, the male sperm cell and the female egg. Without both together each one is merely a cell of sorts. But not a human until they co-mingle to become one.
high school kids that get killed aren't given a choice, a person getting an abortion does. Your argument is senseless
The babies who are slaughtered are not given a choice either. Your focusing on the grown woman, and ignoring the innocent child still. Which IMO makes your argument way more senseless. Which is fine bro. We disagree on this subject, but I still love ya like a brother.

They are cells. They contain your genetic material, can swim and smell. Very humanistic qualities. And like fetuses, without the proper environment they cannot become babies. How does it feel knowing that every time you orgasm you're getting rid of a potential child. The Spermatozoon is not mass-produced like a Ford. There will never cells like the ones you produced today.
Hey young girl What you all went through is horrible, terrible, rotten, wrong on so many levels and it sucks. BUT you don't care about babies, and you want to subject them to way worse than you went through. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Somebody shot and killed your friends and your upset, yet you care more about the snot you blew out of your nose yesterday than the 3,000 babies a day that were murdered by abortion
When a male ejaculates it contains 100 million sperm. It only takes one to create a child. How does it feel that every time you create a child you are also wasting 999, 999 sperm. Wasted. If you orgasm without creating a child you are only wasting one more sperm, (the one that would have created a child).
I'm not interested in getting in to any fights and don't imagine any minds will be changed but I am a tad curious about how those of you who are pro-abortion or pro-choice think or rationalize certain aspects of the topic. I'll start with a couple points that I find particularly troubling and maybe we'll go from there?
Quality of Life I've seen this from time to time I guess in attempt to make abortion seem like a 'mercy' for the baby. If certain birth defects are detected in utero, then the justification to abort is that the baby could never lead a normal, productive, fulfilled life. I find the term 'quality of life' too subjective to be comfortable with it as a justification. One of the Scandinavian countries recently touted their significant reduction in the rates of babies being born with Downs Syndrome. It's not that they found a way to fix it, they just started pushing to abort more babies that would be born with it. The new Gerber Baby as Downs. He seems to be off to a pretty good start toward a fulfilling life.
*I'm not going to post cute pictures or the vid clip of the man with Downs testifying in front of Congress trying to convince them of the value of his life because I'm trying to come at this from a less emotionally charged aspect.
VIABILITY Here is another term that is used to justify an abortion. If the fetus can't sustain itself on it's own, it's not viable and there for doesn't qualify as a "life". Or something to that effect. I've always found the term 'viable' to be nebulously defined and I'd be very curious to hear an actual working definition. In any event, this is also a term that I don't see that works all that well. If you are going to use the viability argument for that baby, fetus, organism... then it's one that maintains even after they are born. If you left in an infant on it's own, it can't feed itself. Even toddlers don't have the self awareness to properly protect themselves from the elements. Realistically you probably aren't looking at being able to meet those parameters until at least the age of 5. That child is just as reliant on it's mother (parents) outside of the womb for the first few years just as much as when they were in the womb.
LEGAL PROSECTION
So, this is definitely something I'm curious of. If you are one who believes it's not a life until it physically pops out and not a moment sooner, how do you feel about people being with 2 counts of murder when someone kills a pregnant woman? How do you feel about laws that allow a person to be charged for assaulting a fetus in addition to assaulting the mother?
If you do agree with them, how is it murder for a stranger to kill the baby, but not the mother?
If you don't agree with those kinds of laws, how do you protect the mother's Right to HAVE the baby? If it's a matter of protecting her Right to Choose, then how do you protect her right to have that baby when someone takes it away from her?
Anyway, just a couple musings. Like I said, I'm not trying to change minds or win at kind o fight. I'm just curious as to the thought process is all.

What’s the average time frame a woman gets an abortion?
Typically, it’s early into the pregnancy. But when someone kills a pregnant woman, typically they are further along into the pregnancy that getting an abortion is no longer an option unless it’s a medical emergency. As such, it’s considered a baby and thus the sicko will get two counts of murder.
Your first two points are a waste of time to argue simply because it’s personal opinion and personal preference. I mean no disrespect but that’s exactly what it is. Your third is the only one that can be argued based on facts and sound reasoning.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

I'm not trying to argue the first two points. I'm trying to get an actual working definition of terms like "quality of life" and "viability" because they are so commonly used to justify an abortion. I presented my impression of what I think when I hear them, not because I'm playing a "I'm right, you're wrong" kind of game, but to provide a little insight to what I am thinking so if/when I do get an answer on those 2 points, they have some context on which to help me see where they are coming from.
As to point 3, you mention timing. Clearly there is a difference to you. What do you think about those who think abortion should be legal right up to the moment before being born? (health and safety concerns as exceptions of course)

I think it’s wrong. I’m actually in support of the heartbeat policy, even though the issue with that is the fact of a lot of women don’t even realize their pregnant early on.
So my general stance is that once you past the halfway mark, unless it’s a medical emergency, tough luck. Prior to that however, as long as tax payers arent paying, and the woman pays out of her own pocket, then it’s whatever.
Because I don’t pretend to lose any sleep over it. It’s an issue that simply doesn’t concern me. Not my body, not my problem.

There are a lot of questions that muddy the waters on this subject. It's also one I don't wish to delve into myself.
Yet you could come at this from another angle that I feel holds validity as well. Why is it that those who support outlawing abortion are the same people who wish to cut social programs like food stamps, medicaid, public housing and every other thing that would help childrens quality of life after they're born?
Is that pro life or pro birth?
I mean I do understand that it should be the responsibility of the parents to raise their children and provide for them. I believe it's something we all agree on. However, in todays society we know that's simply not going to happen. So aren't, we as a society sort of hypocritical to say we demand all of these children be born into poverty and then do everything in our power not to help feed, clothe and house those same children? Yet millions of children in our own country go to bed hungry every night.
I'm certainly not a proponent of abortion. Yet when I see the views on the right when it comes to social programs, I often see their view on this issue much more about pro birth than pro life.

Speaking for myself and having a Aunt who is DD, used to be called MRDD, before that was referred to as Mentally Retarded, you can guess my answer to this question without any problem. Now add in the fact that my wife works and has worked with DD folks, and loves and enjoys spending time with them my answer is even further cemented on this subject.
As far as your question on VIABILITY, it looks like we agree 100 percent on that.
The third question I can't really answer because I believe as soon as the egg is fertilized we have a baby

I understand the concept of "well, if you think abortion is wrong, then you should also be willing to take care of it after it's born"... but I don't think it's a real argument to be honest.
First, it's mixing to seemingly related subjects, but they aren't so similar as to be one and the same issue.
Second, and I think it's my bigger contention of the two, is that it's not a very defensible line of thinking when you look at it. For argument's sake, let's say that I agree with the belief that they are one in the same, that people who are pro-life should also be pro-entitlement (for lack of a better term).
If that reasoning is correct, shouldn't the inverse of the position hold up as well? Someone who is pro-choice, by your logic, should be the ones who are against, or at least would support NOT providing entitlements and community services because if the mother can choose not to raise the child, certainly society can make the same exact choice.
I just don't see it as an actual argument. It's overly simplistic to a much more complex issue and it's almost never presented as anything other than to try and point out the other person's supposed hypocrisy.
Now, for someone like me, it may be more accurate to describe myself as anti-abortion than pro-life. I believe in assisted suicide for terminally ill people (provided they made the decision when they were of sound mind). I believe in the death penalty. Society is so quick to play armchair psychologist because they either don't care to understand, or are too afraid to admit it, but there IS real evil and malevolence in the world. There are acts so heinous that some people can't be redeemed. At least in this life.
When it comes to unborn babies, they didn't do anything to anyone. And the methods of abortion are truly horrifying ranging from vacuuming to partial birth and a spike driven through their skull. Pit, we as a society put our own damn pets down in a more humane manner than we do a potential person.
I'm starting to rant, which I wasn't intending to do. My apologies. But thank you for the reply!

Actually I'm very much against abortion. I just feel that with having that belief, that I must also support programs that will help them after they're born as well. I don't feel that my support for them should end when they're born. To me, pro life doesn't end at birth.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
It's not about choice. It's not about women's rights. It's not about quality of life or validity. The abortion issue is not about any of that. Those are just some of the talking points used as distractions that keep the conversation away from the real issue of abortion.
The linked video is 2hrs-23min long. I doubt many, if any, will watch it through. If not, go back to discussing the distractions which will lull you into thinking that at least you feel you've made an effort to understand, that you have a heartfelt, honest, compassionate opinion abut abortion based on the information available to you. There, that feels better, knowing you care.
The video should be watched all the way through so you can appreciate the timeline and see the planning taking place.
It traces the history of white America and the problem it created for themselves when they ratified the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution making the end of slavery official. That was 148 years ago and it immediately became a problem to reckon with as to what to do with the free negros. In all this time one would have thought that we civilized Americans have grown away from the prejudiced mentality that existed back then. Truth is, it never stopped and is going on as strongly today as it did all those years ago, virtually unchanged.
It's easy to say that this is talking about one issue while the issue of abortion is talking about something entirely separate, something unrelated to race or color. It's easy to say that anyone drawing the conclusion that the two are not only intertwined but solely developed from a race perspective sounds like another conspiracy theory dreamed up by trouble makers. It's easy to say that maybe it used to be that way but times are different, it's not that way anymore. Not here in 2018.
Watch the video and see if your opinions on abortion are the same afterwards or do you find yourself less inclined to discuss the distractions and more inclined to understand the depths of depravity of which white America is capable.
It may take me a week to get through it bro. (Family in town for a funeral we had for my Aunt on Sunday) and my daughter gets the keys to her new place Thursday and starts moving in this weekend. I will however get though the entire thing then make my comments
