Thanks Sashi!

He deserves a medal for that 1 win considering the coaching.

He can have a medal, but I bet he doesn't get another job that is even remotely similar to the one he just got fired from.

Like your favorite GM? Joe Banner. Now there's a guy that really knew how to screw up a team.

Trying to start yet another fight, Dep?

This is to all:

Sashi is gone. Hue is here. We have had these dumb ass arguments over and over and over and nothing changes. Threads deteriorate into a series of posts that have little to do w/football and are all about bickering.

I want to let this go, but each day, there are several posters who gotta keep slamming Hue and praising Sashi and then get upset if a person defends Hue or questions Sashi.

Let it go. It's over.

It's time to move on.

Nope, I just read through your recent Sashi comments and realized that was your goal. Just making sure you get your usual reality check.

Sashi as GM, Hue as coach. They both carried the same record.

If Hue convinces Dorsey that he can win with McCarron do you think that would sway Dorsey into signing McCarron? Does McCarron have enough confidence in himself to hold off Kiser and a rookie QB? No matter where he signs there is going to be competition. If McCarron, with the knowledge the Browns are probably drafting a QB at 1, still wants to come to Cleveland, I say sign him.
Remember this, Hue knows he has to win. He also knows McCarron. If Hue has enough confidence in McCarron to bet his future on him, sign him.

Mine too. I think John will respect the previous connection and trust Hue to get the guy he's familiar with to get us by until Sam (or some or top draft QB, hopefully Sam) is ready to take the snaps.

I suppose a lot will depend on what Dorsey thought of McCarron the year AJ was drafted.

I like AJ, though I am not sure he is going to be as eager to join us as he was when he was almost traded. Then he would have been able to play some games to prove his worth. If he played well, that could have changed our draft plans.

Now he doesn't have that. He will join a team who is all but certain to draft a QB with one of the first rounders. He's been around long enough to know that guy is going to get his shot.

Is he really interested in being a bridge QB or is he interested going to a team where he has a shot to be "the guy"?

I agree. If AJ signs with the Browns it will say a lot about his confidence in himself to beat out a rookie top draft pick. I have read where McCarron is a very confident QB. I doubt he considers himself a bridge QB.

I agree. I'm still kinda liking the idea of bringing McCown back on a 2 year deal and hope this time he's ready to become a QB coach when it's done.

I don't believe that such a team exists. I don't see a single team in the NFL moving forward with the strong belief that A.J. is their franchise QB.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Great Point. I don't see how a team can view him as being the guy moving forward, after his very limited game action, but from what I've been reading he's gonna be paid that way. Don't really understand it.

I didn't say franchise QB or a team would go with him moving forward.

I said to a team where he would get a shot. If he comes here, the #1 pick or the #4 pick is going to get the shot.

I don't care how well he is playing. This isn't like Rogers sitting behind Favre or Young behind Montana. If he signs here, he knows that later this season or next season the first round QB is going to get the call.

If I'm A.J. McCarron, I'm signing with a team that is not a slam dunk to take a QB with the first overall pick. That eliminates one team. I'd also go to a veteran team where I could try and win right away to keep the starting job (and could pay market value).

If I were A.J. McCarron, I'd sign with the Cardinals.

Don't trust Hue's "Trust me" stuff anymore. Dorsey shouldn't either. I just have this nudge telling me that this might fall apart for QB if we get cute and debate too long. How many games might he win? Is he The Man on the field? To train a rookie?

He is not IMO for what it is worth. AJ to save money and cap and on Hue's opinions is just not sound.

As it has been in the past, that call will be the responsibility of whoever is responsible for the 53 man roster. That's not, nor has it ever been Hue.

I loved Jimmy G and took a ton of grief from the "experts" on this board when I wanted Sashi to go after him last year. But, make no mistake, AJ is no Jimmy G. Not even close.

Garapolo was a risk, one that paid off so far for the 49ers. He cost a whole lot less then I’d thought he would have too. Don’t know why the s Browns were not part of that with the Patriots, but for some reason we were t. I don’t know if AJ is at the same level as Garapolo, time will tell.

AJ does take care of the ball, did in his limited play in the NFL and did in college. I could see the Browns having success with him, but he’d need dedication and star power in the run game. A gvreat defense would also help. He probably wouldn’t be a guy whose gonna win you games but he won’t lose them either.

This, if true, explains.
