I was discussing this with some of my fellow officers over the last few days. 1 deputy being a coward... sure. 2? It's possible. But 4? It's extremely unlikely that you wouldn't have at least 1 step up and handle business.
Having that many people be ineffectual is a clear indicator of a systemic failure. This Sheriff should resign if he had any dignity.

Records are saying they ignored 45 calls (some regarding his brother also) now. This is a tragedy, but it's clearly more to this issue than "hey, let's just take everyone's guns away and the issue will be gone" and etc. We failed from the deputy/resource officer to police assistance to the previous warning signs and they just keep surfacing. This should have been intercepted awhile ago. The warnings to what was to come were in the pockets of everyone of who ignored them.

I know it won't get past your hate but I saw Trump attacked on stage during the campaign and he did not run. He did not hide. He did not call for help. He did not call for Secret Service.
He turned towards the assailant with his hands out to fight. It was his natural reaction to an attack.
Bernie on the other hand peed and gave up his microphone to them there scary gals. "He turned toward his assailant with his hands out to fight" I can't stop laughing. Imagine being weak enough to think that a whiny trust fund wimp with a clown wig is some kind of tough guy. A toddler wouldn't be that gullible. What was it you said about him when you got tricked into thinking he stopped a mugging? He has "the heart of a lion"? Too funny.

40: This fat guy sweating profusely and crying about how people are mean to him seems pretty tough to me. I love that you have so little conception of manhood that you think a guy who ran away because he got scared of Megyn Kelly is some kind of tough guy. What was it the mugger said in that story the neo-Nazi teenager made up that you believed? Pretty sure it was "Please, Mr. Trump, don't hurt me!"

Are you also going to criticize that football coach who rushed in, unarmed, and took something like 7 shots before he died in order to save some of those kids?
Like it or not, there are people who do such things. God bless him. There is a big difference between actually doing something heroic and just saying you would. Apples & oranges. Talk is cheap.

Now all we need, a bunch of kids going out and getting drunk on one of thems's 21'st birthday, and a bunch of the group says, hey you can buy a gun too!!
A bunch of drunk 21 year olds walking in to a gun store to buy guns on their 21st birthday, This is not a good scenario people! Not that I believe this scenario would happen all that often.. but that's why you allow them to fill out their paperwork on their 21st birthday, then wait for the background check to be completed... And any gun shop that would sell a gun to an obviously intoxicated person should be shut down if not arrested any way.

Like it or not, there are people who do such things. God bless him. “So what happens is, this guy falls off right on his face, hits his head, and I thought he died. And you know what I did? I said, ‘Oh my God, that’s disgusting,’ and I turned away,” said Trump. “I couldn’t, you know, he was right in front of me and I turned away. I didn’t want to touch him… he’s bleeding all over the place, I felt terrible. You know, beautiful marble floor, didn’t look like it. It changed color." (Multiple eyewitnesses reported that Trump actually ran out of the room screaming. A Marine in attendance called 911.)

The #1 trait of a bully/coward is that they act brave when they know they are not in jeopardy. Like when they are surrounded by friends and the other person is alone... When you know security will handle the threat before it ever gets to you... When you are on a keyboard hurling hateful insults at somebody you are likely to never meet... All extreme acts of cowardice.

You brought the coach up while trying to argue in defense of a cowardly weakling claiming that he would've ran in had he been near a school shooting. The part in which you said "are you also going to criticize" - "also" implies criticism of another. In this specific instance, you were referring to people mocking Trump for his idiotic statement about how he would've ran in.

Is that the subject you wish to change to now? No, I am perfectly content staying focused on the fact that you have such little conception of toughness that you think a wimpy oaf who constantly cries that people are mean and unfair to him is some kind of tough guy. How weak and naive does one have to be to look at a crybaby in a clown wig with a bad spray tan and think "I saw Fight in his eyes"? "I see Fight in Trump's eyes" may be funnier than "Trump has the heart of a lion". When Megyn Kelly brought up Trump's disgusting comments towards women, and then he ran away in fear, skipping the next FOX debate because Kelly was "mean" to him, did you see Fight in his eyes?

"Are you also going to criticize that football coach who rushed in, unarmed, and took something like 7 shots before he died in order to save some of those kids?" Nobody is going to criticize him, he actually did something, he saved lives and he died in the process... It is your use of the word "also" that is disrespectful and implies that this person and Trump should be afforded the same level of respect because this person died saving lives and Trump said he would have if he had been there. Like it or not 40, it was an asinine thing for Trump to say.. and there is nothing in history to confirm that there was any chance he was going to rush into a shootout. What we do know is that his 9/11 story has changed several times and has been proven to be highly exaggerated. He claims to have watched the planes hit the building but the building he was supposed to have been in is over 4 miles away. We know he didn't get out of his building and go see if he could help but he did call into a radio show and brag about how big and bad he would be if he was in charge.. We know he claims to have been part of clean up but the only footage of him is being on the scene 2 days later wearing a $5,000 suit and talking to a German reporter.. We know he claims to have lost "hundreds of friends" on that day.. kind of unlikely that he knew 1 out of 10 of the people who were killed. We know his financial records don't indicate that he donated any money to any of the 9/11 charities established after the event... But if you still believe there is a snowballs chance that he would have rushed into an active shooter situation (armed or unarmed) then you are entitled to believe what you want.

No one knows how someone else will react under those circumstances. My point is there are those who will rush in unarmed. You guys want to say Trump would not. No Clue You. You guys need to stop trying to make your points at the expense of those who have given their lives for others.

Based on that evidence, it's entirely possible that a terrified crybaby in a clown wig may have done it, too. Sound logic. And once again - it's ridiculously disrespectful to compare a man who gave his life in the name of heroism to some sweaty racist coward who ran away screaming when an elderly man had a heart attack and died in his restaurant.

You are correct, nobody knows how a person will react, most don't even know how they would react themselves... Combat tested soldiers and trained police officers have been known to freeze up under similar circumstances.. So for Trump to state emphatically he knows he would, is total BS.. No Clue Him. As usual, Trump misses an opportunity to show genuine appreciation for the bravery of somebody else.. he could have very easily stated, "What this man did is truly incredible, he is a genuine hero. I can only hope that I would have been that brave in a similar situation." But no, Donald can't do that..

jc I'm sure this has been mentioned at some point on here, but the shooter posted a comment on YouTube that he was going to be a professional school shooter. This was done under his real name and it was reported to the FBI. Nothing was done about it. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/...e-a8212726.html

I know how I would react and I was in charge of men in the Fire Service and had to know how they would react. Some were scared and needed a push while others had to be held back for they would burn to death trying to save others. The first test was how we reacted to the Fight or Flight or Freeze situation. With these qualifications under my belt, I recognize Fight in President Trump. I saw Flight in Bernie. I saw smile and Freeze in Hillary. So for Trump, who seems to know himself pretty well after 70 years, whose reaction I have seen first hand, to say he knows he would rush in, well I tend to believe him. Bernie would flee or hide. Hillary would Freeze and look for someone to do something.

Remember when Trump got all upset because the girl from the teenage vampire movies that he had a crush on got back together with her boyfriend, so he screamed at her on Twitter for like a year? Did he have the fight in his eyes back then?
