i wouldn't. especially if they think lamar is the guy but they can just trade up to get him.

Barkley and Cousins doesn't sound too bad about now.

But how are his smarts and RB skills?

I really like Lamar has a player, but ..... he looks and sounds a bit infantile... not what you want in a QB.

But he did it in College, so maybe I'm the one who is wrong...

I don't think he is Deshaun, and does not look like Vick, his presence is even worst than Vince Young, IMHO...

Maybe we are too critical of QB's....

I don't obsessively follow college players. So I know nothing of this guy.

Seems he is the physical specimen. So mainly my question is How Good Is He At His Job. Because we've had physical specimens who were fails before.

From what I've seen in his media interviews, he's pretty smart. From what I've seen on tape, his RB skills are awesome.

If he's there at 4 and we have to choose between Barkley and Fitz though, I'd still take Fitz.

Can I dream that we sign Cousins and draft Barkley and Fitz ......and draft the top WR after trading back into the 1st?

Man, it's so hard to see which QB is the right one to draft. They all have plus level traits, and they all have areas of concern. I just hope we make the right choice .... finally.

Barkley's vision between the tackles is enough pause not to take him in the top 5, IMO. He's a little too Trent Richardson with his vision.

I’m beginning to think Barkley won’t make it past the Giants at 2. So if our FO wants him they’d probably have to take him at 1. Just speculating.

I made a comment to my Son about that a few days ago . I was not all that sure of him between the tackles .

From what I have seen, he is pretty darn good.

All the QB for the most part are pretty closely rated together. None of those guys really stand out as the best among them, and they all have considerable question marks, they all need to sit awhile.

Barkley is just simply too great of a talent to pass on.The Browns have to take him
at #1. They are absolute fools if they don’t and passing on this kinda talent is why we have been losers for so long. Gotta take BPA when your 0-16.

Take Barkley at #1, and we will have a similar rated talent at QB at number 4 as we would have at number 1.

The Browns can improve their team MORE by takin BPA at #1(Barkley) and still getting top 3 QB talent at number 4.

This is a complete no brainer at this point. Barkley will not get out top 3 because if we pass other teams won’t be so stupid.

These are the kinds of defining moments that will determine if we turn this around.

I think Dorsey already knows he has to take Barkley, but he is willing to entertain trade offers to see if he can move down 1-2 spots to let teams take a QB he doesn’t care about and still get Barkley....worst case he takes Barkley at one. If he passes on Barkley at one he won’t last 3 years as our GM....I don’t think he is that stupid though....he talked about taking BPA the other day, and Barkley could be the best back Cleveland has had since Jim Brown, he changes the entire landscape of the Brown organization...he will have that kinda impact....I do t think you can pass on that if you really care about winning....considering we can get comparable QB talent at 4....

I disagree. No excuses. There's four players, find your guy and choose him.

By drafting a QB at four, there's very real possibility we get the third best of the bunch.

We haven't picked a QB this high since Tim Couch. Haven't even picked a QB higher than 22. We also haven't picked the choice of the litter since Tim Couch either.



Barkley would be a wonderful player to have on the team, but RB only means so much. How much success has Adrian Peterson brought the Vikings? How much consistency too?

Cause Tom Brady (four superbowls?), Peyton Manning (two superbowls). They went to the playoffs pretty much every season they played. Big Ben, pretty much always in the playoffs (Two superbowls).

The NFL has changed. RB is still an important position, but these guys this year are better prospects than the guys last year. We can still select Fitz, Barkley, or Chubb at four (one of the three elite positional player prospects).

But nothing changes your hopes around like a QB. Barkley's combine numbers look great. Far more importantly, his play in college makes him look great.

But QB is the most important position in sports. We can't let this continue. Unless we sign Kirk Cousins, we have to draft a QB at 1

So Baker Mayfield is not Johnny Manziel. He is much less athletic.

is he a better passer than manziel?

i honestly don't know. cause manziel had that arm, too.

Better QB though. Still wouldn't take him over Rosen, Darnold or Allen.

I'd say so. His game translates better than Johnny's. And I was excited about Johnny, but Mayfield has more experience playing the game, I think he's a bit more accurate, and he's more comfortable from the pocket.

Mayfield showed well. Rosen was a little disappointing. Allen wins the day, IMO.

I heard Shaquem Griffin put up 20 reps on the bench press. That's pretty freaking awesome. I'm rooting hard for this dude.

Watched it. Very impressive. You could hear the buzz in the room.

He did. Gotta love this kid. Great attitude, and fire on the field. You can tell he loves the game.

I'm interested in hearing opinions of Equanimeous St. Brown. I know he had terribly inconsistent QB play. Thought he looked good in drills today.

He did look good overall. IIRC he had a drop in the gauntlet. I see him as a second rounder, not the late rounder some sites have him ranked as.

I like Chark, Sutton, Kirk, St. Brown, & Washington as guys who might be available to us.

Kirk was the guy that jumped out to me. He tested well athletically, by what really impressed me was his hands. He is just so natural and fluid catching the ball.

I like the same guys as you Cal. There are some latter round players but we need some difference makers and I think any of those dudes could be that.

Oddly enough, this would not make my head explode.
