Hear me out on this... Let's say at #1 we take 1. OB Sam Darnold - CLE Then picks #2 and #3 play out like this... 2. RB Saqoun Barkely - NYG 3. DE Bradley Chubb - IND Now at #4 we could have a bidding war on our hands for others looking to trade up to take a QB. My question is this... Do we gain MORE leverage on the other teams by outright drafting Josh Rosen ( or another QB in this position ) as opposed to choosing to trade the pick while on the clock? If the answer is yes, this might give other teams who want Rosen a ton of time to outbid each other for either Darnold or Rosen. Thoughts?

I have advocated a QB draft for some time now . What I had in mind was QB #1 AT #1 ( OR 4 ) all on Dorsey ; and then one in the latter rounds . I have a couple that I like . I would not mind trading Kizer if there was a decent offer .. All of this is predicated on signing a Vet to start the season with .

There is no way it happens that we take two QBs but I could see us making a nice trade from 4 in that scenario. It's why I would take Barkley at #1 and a QB at #4.

I also like the idea of taking Barkley at #1 and a QB at #4. I'd be happy with any of the below. Barkley at #1 Darnold, Rosen or Mayfield at #4 My question was simply do we gain more leverage by taking the QB over trading the pick, not sure if everyone is actually reading my post or just reading the title of the thread.

I would be fine with trading back, so long as, we left ourselves in a position to draft Mason ahead of the Steelers and pick 22 is not involved ^^.

I don't care as much about winning in April as if there was a way to win in September-October-November-December-January and in the playoffs.
If they want to draft 11 quarterbacks, and it gets them to winning when it counts, I don't think league rules prohibit it.
Could they just move the NFL draft up to Februrary 1st, The speculation for weeks on end is turning into something bad. Get it over with already.

I get the sense that most of you are reading the headline of my thread and replying as opposed to reading my actual post.

We will already have our two QBs...AJ McCarron n our drafted QB. One will be traded in the future.
I however am joining the ranks of Barkley at #1 n get our choice of Rosen, Darnold or Mayfield at #4.
Just our humble future!
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!

No. If anything we lose leverage because teams know we have to make a trade.
