He is just an amazing kid. I wouldn't bet against him making an impact in the NFL. The kid seems to have a truly rare drive, and seems to be a real leader.

At first I didn't think 20 reps was all that great for a LB, Then I realized this is the kid that lost left hand to amputation when he was 4 years old. Impressive, to say the least!

I heard Shaquem Griffin put up 20 reps on the bench press. That's pretty freaking awesome. I'm rooting hard for this dude. He wore a prosthetic for the bench press. Does anyone know what the rules are/if there are any in the NFL rulebook regarding prosthetics?

It's definitely the sort of thing that isn't going to help you out on the bench press.
When benching you use your forearms and wrists to help stabilize the weight. With a prosthetic, he basically has to use his biceps/ triceps to do that on one arm while using the wrist / forearm on the other.
Definitely not easy.

Not really what I was asking. I was more wondering if he'd be able to wear one during games. I don't think so. All the highlights I saw of him in college have him without the prosthetic.

Looking at the Combine my approach has always been: "what do I know going in; and what have learned coming out."
Going in: Known. Barkley is a phenom athlete. He would show case at the Combine.
Known. Allen has a big arm. He showed that.
Known. Rosen is smooth with outstanding fundamentals.
Mayfield. Unknown. I questioned his speed. Some arm strength question but no accuracy question.

Learned from the combine.
Mayfield ran better than I thought he would. He also left no question about his arm. He has good zip on the ball.
Allen looks like he is getting more comfortable overall. He seems more sure of himself and his mechanics.
Barkley was no surprise. There are very strong arguments to be made that he is the best player in the draft.

The Combine has some interest but in general I don't go overboard on the combine. Nice to see the guys in shorts and to see them do some things. However, there is not much there as far as how do you play the game?
I have seen to many workout wonders like Vernon Gholston.
Pro days? Scripted workouts to make you look good. I mean Jamarcus Russell and Manziel had good pro days. Just don't hurt your self like Bridgewater did taking off his glove. Actually for me it meant zero because Bridgewater was good because of what he could do after the ball was snapped.
So the Combine is a small picture in a big picture analysis.

1) Mayfield "accurate and quick"
2) Allen "some consistency"
t-3) Rosen and Jackson "underwhelming"
Just one opinion, but interesting nonetheless...

On Allen but I didnt see the inaccuracy I was expecting long way to go but he will get the opportunity to prove his accuracy. Our guys will make the right choice. Mayfield is lookjng good also. Warming up to that Barkley at #1...if we didnt have pick #4 QB is a no brainer at #1 Thank you Texans!

Allen is improving very nicely .. I am beating a dead horse here , but I have followed him for two yeas now . I advice all to go and watch the third quarter of the Senior Bowl . His ceiling is very , very high .

This morning I was listening to Chris Mortensen ( who when I lived in Atlanta I met a number of times; his son and mine competed against each other in baseball).

He states how Allen has won over GM's who dismissed him earlier on, because of how much he has improved in a short time.
One of things I have felt all along was Allen came to this position with very little coaching. That once he got into a position where he was going to get NFL coaching everyday he could benefit greatly and improve quickly.
He comes across as a guy who wants to get better. Wants to be coached. And is willing to do whatever it takes.
"If" he puts it all together his potential is scary.

Josh Sweat just blew a 4.53 40. I've had my eye on him as a mid round edge guy but I think he flies up boards, notwithstanding the other drills. Dude hasn't dominated in terms of sacks - however, has had 14.5 sacks and 29 TFL in 3 years. I kinda like Sweat a little, I think he’s a better fit as an OLB in a 3-4. But good showing. Now if got to go watch one of my favorite players, Tremaine Edmunds.

Marquis Haynes has been having a great combine. Came in at 233 (I said he was 220 in college  ), did 23 bench press reps and ran a 4.66 40. I would love to move him to offline linebacker to see how he he would do.

Wonder where Derwin James and Denzel Ward will get picked ? I like Fitz but I think James will be a great safety at a later slot. If we could get James and Josh Jackson, I think that fixes the secondary.

The kid is sucking up all the knowledge and input he can get . Processing it , and showing up . His ceiling is Way , way up there. He also did not have the same quality of receivers in his Senior year . Look , he ( just all the other elites ) are not finished products by any means .. Darnold . Rosen, ect , ect are gong to grow and mature as QB's .. Who the Devil knows who will be tops five seasons from now ?? As I old you before , my crystal ball is in the pawn shop .

After days of evaluation at the #Combine, one thing is clear: Penn St RB Saquon Barkley is firmly in the mix at No. 1 for the #Browns, sources say. Would be the first RB at that spot since Ki-Jana Carter to the #Bengals in 1995. Yep. Firmly. As in I truly believe he’s their pick at 1 as of right now. As for the QB and what they might do at 4, there is very strong buzz Cleveland likes Baker Mayfield a lot. I know, I know.....smokescreens and all-- and it could easily be just that. However, for those that have access to certain information and have inside scoops through various media outlets, the Barkley infatuation was brought up several weeks ago. We'll see how true it ends up being.

Just watching him from Senior Bowl week and through the Combine workouts: He just looks more comfortable in general. More confident in what he is doing.
For him it is about consistent footwork. Proper stride effects accuracy. Allen most likely has never been coached in the fine points of quarterback mechanics.
It will take time. How fast? There is no way to tell.
But he has shown improvement quickly and demonstrated that in the second half of the Senior Bowl and the Combine.

So all the work he’s been doing with Jordan Palmer has done nothing? That’s why he looked more accurate at the senior bowl and the combine, because nothing has changed? Ok
If he keeps it up he will get better. Will he ever be great, I can’t answer that, no one can. But you can easily see he wasn’t overstriding when throwing at the combine. Yes against air. But I wasn’t looking at where he was throwing it but at what his feet were doing and they looked much better. Funny how Mayock also mentionedthe exact same thing.

Honestly I really struggle with Allen.
Like any coach you love pure talent.
I can not put the picture of Allen in a Browns uniform out of my head. Along with him just studding out as a quarterback. Throwing it all over the field. Running guys over. Just being the Dream guy.
Reality comes back and I see all the big arm busts.
Allen is a guy you want to like.
The only thing I can say is after this process is complete. After they bring him in and work him out and as a group come to the conclusion that he is their guy.
