Have you ever read the New Testament? The Lord asks nothing BUT loaded questions.... because He already knows the answer.

I'll reply I did what Jesus told me to do. I rendered unto caesar what was caesar's. Jesus was adamant about obeying the law. He was adamant that he did not come to change or break the law but to fulfill the law. If you live a life breaking the law then you are not obeying God's will.

There is not a single country in this entire world that doesn't owe its existence to conquering its own people and its neighbors. None. When they stop being a country it will be for the same reason. None of it is justification to have a lawless society. Instead as you live your life disregarding the laws of your country and passing on the arrogance of disrespect towards the laws of your country you are actually undermining the health and wellbeing of your society.

If you don't like the laws elect people to change those laws. Until then obey them.

I have a simple rule about charity. Feed your own family first. Once your family is fed then reach out a hand to help others. It's not complicated. If you can't even feed your own family then you are being recklas to worry about others before your own. I mean would you starve your own kids before all other people who wander in? No, you would not.

So why would you feed criminals who shouldn't be here while your own countrymen are out there starving and living in the streets or worse? Only insane people would neglect their own people to instead hold out a hand to criminals who have no business being there.

Let's get our own people fed and housed before we go out trying to save others. Also, my own people don't have a skin color so you can keep that racist crap to yourself. Americans are Americans to me.

People who are here illegally are not Americans. They are invaders who are costing our country over 115 BILLION dollars per year. It's a financial disaster that is over 10x worse than the 9/11 attacks but yearly. 9/11 is called the worst terrorist attack we have ever suffered but yet it's just a drop in the bucket compared to the financial damage illegals cause. The amount of deaths and rape that are caused by illegals YEARLY is staggering. Yet, you flippantly don't care what happens to your own society or it's people. Go ahead and be proud of yourselves for that.

Even other countries know how bad a job we are doing to see that our own children are fed. The children going hungry in America. those of us who care at all are labeled socialist or communist and are looked down on because we want all americans to have enough food to eat and have basic shelter. Yet you will give so freely to illegals while neglecting our own people. Yet, I am evil because I care more for Americans. Go ahead and call me evil all you want. I will NEVER apologize for prioritizing my own people first.

Some religious teachings only have roots in political agendas. If "do unto others", "turn the other cheek", or the basic concept that we are all "God's Children" doesn't seem to reverberate in one's Christian values then the root of those religious learnings must be questioned.

If they are children of God then let them obey the law as he commanded us to do. I obey the laws to the best of my ability. I mean I am sure I have broken some here or there and not even known it but I even obey the speed limits. I will love my neighbors the same way.

So let me ask you. Are there locks on your doors? There are and you lock them at night to keep your family safe like a even half intelligent person does. This country is our house. The government has doors with locks to control who comes in and out of it. It's not evil to do so. Nor is it against God's will to protect our family inside our house and you know it. I mean unless your home is a homeless shelter where they come in and are free to take all you own whenever they feel like it. If not then stop being a hypocrite.

I give up a lot of money, the typical life of someone in their 20s, and sacrifice time away from my family to do what I do.

Try living 3400+ miles away from the people who raised you, basically take a pay cut due to cost of living, teach in an isolated place, never have a guarantee if you're traveling that day, get "stuck" away from relatives for the holidays due to a winter storm, and everything else that comes with an isolated life.

The cost of living in Alaska is quite high. Anchorage vs Cleveland is about 24% per Nerdwallet. And based on people I know who live up there, I'd totally buy into that amount. The cost to heat your house in the winter is bonkers! So if anchorage is 24% higher than Cleveland, and your webpage puts average salary of ohio at 14% lower than alaska, I would argue that yes, he is indeed taking a cut.

I have the same sort of argument with myself (sometimes) on living in Silicon Valley because I'm a software engineer. Sure I could command 250k+ year salary without much fuss, but the cost of living adjustment takes away the money just as fast. In exchange, I'd be driving at least an hour to work and living in a tiny house that cost well over a million dollars...

Airline tickets for holidays and summers, added cost for food, paying what accounts to basically mortgage for a place that is half the size of a home, no nice retirement package like Ohio or Pennsylvania teachers, a car payment for a car I use only three months out of the year, added cost for internet and cell, etc.

You really don't understand. You don't look for a discussion, either. You always want to knock people for their finances, for being educated, etc. It gets tiring.
