Spoils the narrative. The ISIS link is just icing on the cake. Had it been an AR it would have been plastered everywhere.

Well you do know that bombs are already against the law and AR-15's aren't, right?

And yet the bomb was still used in place of the AR proving that laws don’t work for those that ignore them...it also demonstrates that when there is a will there is a way.

But since it basically destroys the “if we remove ARs then schools become instantly safe” theory then it has to be put on page 8.

Look, I'm a strong supporter of the second amendment. But you aren't making it any better when you try to reach when someone uses a bomb. The vast majority of violent deaths regarding school shooting are done with an WR-15. Some right wing talking points won't change that.

That is literally not one single persons theory...

Not sure that proves anything...

If you live in a world where one failed bomb attempt is the same as decades of gun shootings, it proves a lot.

And if you live in a world where guns and bombs are being sneaked into our schools because of a lack of security, well
then you live in the world of a fools.

The point dub is making is that despite several indicators that this kid was gonna do this law enforcement dropped the ball on this one as well, the only thing that thwarted this attack was inept bomb making and THE GLARING FACT THAT THIS ISN’T NATIONAL NEWS BECAUSE AN AR-15 WASNT THE WEAPON OF CHOICE.

Once again, media guiding the agenda.

But you all go ahead and chase after the wrong thing, make sure you don’t let this crisis go to waste.

After the Florida shooting (and every shooting for that matter) my area of Raleigh had multiple threats of gun violence, some fake and some real, that were uncovered... none of them made national news because they failed and nobody was hurt. I bet every decent size city had shooting threats after the shooting that nobody heard about... because they failed. If that bomb had gone off, sadly we all would have heard about it..

Meh, way back in my highschool days....a looooong time before gun violence in schools.....my highschool had bomb threats from time to time. It resulted in all students being marched outside and waiting until a bombcheck and all clear. Then back to class we go. This was in a whitey white school district in the 80s. Long before Columbine.

Nobody ever had a meltdown about it. It was teenagers being stupid.

I'd guess in today's highly charged atmosphere about school violence people might have a meltdown about that. But, really a march outside and a bombcheck is all you can do.

The worst school massacre in US history, the Bath School Massacre, happened in 1927 and killed 44 people. He used a bomb.

The ISIS part was crazy. Especially for all of this occurring in Utah. I think bombs are the largest threat to US mass killings, and have always wondered why they aren't used more at schools. I would bet it's because an unattended bag in a classroom or hallway would be a very suspicious thing. No one just forgets their bag. I'm glad this was stopped.

It wasn't stopped, it started smoking and malfunctioned. Dude should've been investigated much more thoroughly.

If he built that bomb right, it'd be a different news story.

Well God knows that's highly relative to the mass shootings going on in our schools during this time period.
