Adam Schefter just tweeted: 'Leftover tidbit form weekend combine: one team said it had Louisville's Lamar Jackson as the second rated QB in upcoming NFL draft.'
He can make every throw and he can out run everybody on the field.
He also stays healthy.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
I like Lamar has a player, but his presence... it's like he's always intimidated..honestly that's my biggest drawback, I just can picture him leading an NFL team...
Mom stuff didn't help either... He sound like a great kid, but emphasis on kid.
And yea this guy nailed it with Allen. People takkk about accuracy being key for QBs, so how in the world is Allen considered a top 5pick, or even a top 5 QB?
We alresdy have a massive arm QB with accuracy issues. His name is Kizer.

No disrespect but where are you getting this intimidated idea from? This guy is a leader like Mayfield and his teammates will run through a brick wall for those guys.

Lamar in the 2nd round would be alright, don't think he will pass the Stealers though...
we could easily take him at 4. from all the reports, we're taking a bridge QB anyway.

I think he lacks the intangibles to be drafted at 4... maybe its only me...
He has to grow up, and that will take time.
what intangibles is that?

Ed...dont know your age but we have for too long been the Dave Kingman of the NFL when it comes to draft picks.
We cannot afford to swing for the fences...we need that solid hitter that will hit a homer on a pitchers mistake. We need that sure solid hitter. We got the #1 pick even after the #4 pick which by itself is a top pick. Lamar is a type of investment to possibly make much later in the draft...he could be a homerun after the first round. Not at 1 n 4. Jmho
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!

did you say the same thing about Vick before he marched into lambeau field and handed favre a loss in the playoffs, and also lead his team to a NFC title match?
he was drafted #1 overall, and if it wasn't for his dumbass decision -not a mistake, a conscious DECISION - to fight dogs, he absolutely lived up to the #1 overall pick.
here's a guy who is quite possible better than Vick, and yet he's only worthy of a slot later in the draft?
makes no damn sense.

funny cause the pocket passers in this draft seem to have an injury history.
how many times did vick suffer serious injuries in the nfl?
lamar stayed healthy his college career.
can't say that about the "top" pocket passing QB in this draft class, however.

According to ESPN.com, at least one NFL team had Jackson ranked as their No. 2 quarterback in this year's draft class. The team in question remained unnamed.
What does matter? The interviews—and Jackson is acing them. "A truly special person," one team executive who interviewed Jackson said. "Wow'd everyone in the interview. I'd feel comfortable turning over the team to him."

Jackson is 6-1 2/8 and weights 216 pounds.. He is going to get destroyed as a running QB in the NFL. While he was good in college, his physical limitations will be exposed along with other glaring negatives.
Biggest Negatives: Inaccurate Thin frame Needs to get stronger/bulk up for the NFL Horrendous footwork
Jackson reminds me of RG3 more than Vick.
If we draft him 1 or 4 or trade down and draft him... I might be done with the Browns.
Rosen Mayfield and Darnold are all light years ahead of him as a QB.

This may be your opinion but its not founded based on what actually happened in college. Lol, Rosen and Allen both suffered major injuries. Lamar Jackson was not injured and will run much less in the NFL then he did in college and therefore will be exposed to less hits. Rosen and Allen on the other hand will be hit more in the NFL then they were in college....so something doesn't add up here. In fact when you really think about the injury knock you bring up it applies more to other prospects then to Lamar.

What do perceive as his physical limitations that will be exposed? And what are these 'glaring' negatives?

You really only have 3 big negatives because 'thin frame' and 'needs to get stronger/bulk up' are the same.
What makes you say he is inaccurate? Based on what measure? Horrendous footwork- drop back? balance? stance?

Adrian Peterson was 6-1 1/2 and weighed 217 lbs at the combine. He somehow managed to hold up pretty well at that size while averaging ~20 carries a game.
I'd also say Lamar has fewer physical limitations than all the draftable QBs with the possible exception of Allen.
He admittedly has some negatives, but I don't see them as noticeably more glaring than the negatives of the other QBs.
You mess with the "Bull," you get the horns. Fiercely Independent.
Some of the rhetoric you all are coming up with about jackson is so ridiculous.
He has growing up to do? Like really? he's a kid? like really?
Dude is CLEAN off the field. CLEAN! and some of you are hating because he doesnt want to hand his money away to a guy (agent) who won't have to negotiate a whole lot. To go against the grain speaks pure LEADERSHIP to me.
Talk about his inaccuracy, but please don't come up with any off the field stuff about this guy, because its not deserved.

I've already broken down Jackson's film and talked about positives and negatives. Not sure which post that was on
here is what I said about Lamar back in Nov: I copied the posts and tweaked a couple of things to clarify how he looks and added some more updates.
Lamar Jackson's footwork is putrid. he has horrible wasted body motions, that will get him killed in the NFL, he's throwing off the wrong foot on the run, his throwing stance looks like riding a horse instead of finishing in a triangle stance. He looks like he is standing at 90% of his height when he throws. *He short steps/shuffles his feet right before he throws the ball. NFL CB's LB's and DL will pick up on that and knock the ball down or pick it off.
I have even seen highlights where he gets the snap takes a strange step back, doesn't move his feet at all... and throws the ball 2-3 seconds later. It's like he completely forgets to get into a throwing position or move his feet.
If you watched his combine... he hasn't fixed or improved any of these footwork issues.
postshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIlqMpKFhds 5 seconds in he locks his front knee on a roll out at :18 he lengthens his throwing motion and misses the receiver at :24 he throws with his arm not his legs same thing on the next pass. both times the receiver has to break their route. at 1:18 you get a nice slow mo view of his front leg pretty much locking into place again instead of bending it and driving it towards the ground and following through.
I could keep picking it apart... but there is no point. one out of every 10 throws... his footwork is average 9/10 is
If we had a year to fix his mechanics, he could probably throw the ball 10 mph faster and 15 yards further. However, his mechanics are so bad... there may not be any way to save him.
more detail into it...
well, my son was a quarterback for about 6 years so I got the privileged to learn too much about QB's before he decided to focus on baseball as a pitcher.
With the elbows level at the base and a loaded wrist in the “cocked” position off the back shoulder, the triangle shape provides for a powerful position to launch the football. This pre-throw carriage position reduces the tendency to wind up on the throw, aligns the throwing arm in a position that generates arm power, and reduces wasted motion resulting in a faster release.
https://www.krossover.com/articles/proper-quarterback-throwing-stance/ Boxers and quarterbacks share the same base in the stance of your legs. To be a successful quarterback, you need bent knees and your power to come from your back leg, just like a boxer throws a punch. Quarterbacks want to transfer their weight back foot to front foot when throwing the football.
If you have watched QB's enough, you can just see the wasted motion and how he is standing entirely too tall. It's hard to explain However...
His drop back is all over the place but his motion is usually really small. He doesn't use his hips through the pass when he throws, he locks his front leg and drives it into the ground. When he does that, he completely loses balance and over throws his target.
Hence.... why he has accuracy issues and cant' hit the broadside of a barn outside the numbers.
His deep ball passes are pretty horrific. they look like they are floating down the river because he again is throwing with his arm instead of his legs. The ball constantly sails and he overthrows a lot.
Last thing... when he is under pressure... his footwork vanishes. Hew cheats it by shortening it before he gets hit, and that is probably why he runs at the first sign of pressure.
His arm is comparable to a premium NFL QB however, he also has the footwork and throwing motion of a 8th grade QB.
Jackson is 6-1 2/8 and weights 216 pounds.. He is going to get destroyed as a running QB in the NFL.

how do you know how much he will or will not run? I said he will get destroyed as a running QB. No one can predict how much he will get hit in the pocket or rolling out.

I listed them in my reply about how I broke him down in the post above. His physical limitations are his size to be running around in the NFL. He takes hits vs avoiding them every time he runs.

yes, in the 3rd or 4th round
I've already broken down Jackson's film and talked about positives and negatives. Not sure which post that was on
It seems more and more that very few actually want to have a discussion anymore.
I responded to your comments but you've chosen not to respond to mine.
The only thing you've said that i agree with is that his base is narrow at times ; but even with thst you exaggerate to the point of absurdity.
All you've done is state your opinion as fact....so there really isn't a discussion to be had.
If you think he is 3rd-4th round pick you are going to be very wrong.
There I responded directly to your comments.
Everyone who posts on this board is posting based on opinions.
It's not absurd. Watch Josh Rosen's footwork and drops. look at Lamar's.... they are night and day different.
I think he is a 3rd or 4th rounder. I don't think he will get drafted there. A team will take a chance on him towards at the end of the first or early second and attempt to correct his foorwork, throwing motion, pad level when he runs the ball, learn how to slide vs taking a hit.
Did you even read my breakdown of Lamar? If you did, and looked with an honest eye, you would see what I'm talking about.
Lamar has solid potential to be an NFL QB. However, I don't think a team can fix his foorwork/throwing issues without riding the bench for a year.
By the looks of him at the combine, he hasn't even attempted to fix any of it.
Did the posted where you responded to my comments get deleted or something because I don't see it?
I hope to have a discussion with someone that responsed directly to comments.

Not really. Everyone is giving their opinion. Some posts are based on opinion and some are based on facts and observations in addition to opinion. However none of that justifies stating ones opinion as fact but that's just personal etiquette hang up on my part.

well this guy has been posted all over the board, and people have used him as evidence to get such and such guy.
wonder what they will say.
