Leaving Saturday to go to France for an extended stay . I'll be in the Normandy area and wanted some board input . Of course Omaha Beach and the associated areas I'll see again , 25 years ago I jumped into Normandy with the 3/325 ABCT . Any other places worthwhile ?

If you have time, go to Le Harve. It’s a beautiful port city.

I highly recommend going to the Peace museum in Caen, which isn't too far from the Normandy beaches. And, if you can go further down the coast the town of St. Malo is beautiful. It was actually destroyed and rebuilt to look exactly like the original town and you would never know that it was rebuilt after the war. Very close to St. Malo is also Mont St. Michel the island town that gets cut off when the tide comes in. All are very beautiful spots.

La Fiere Bridge and memorial Park.
A very poignant area. If you get time check out Mark Bandos "Trigger Time" website. Maybe you can get it on the flight? Of course the town square at St Mere Eglise seeing where John Steele (505) hung for hours is pretty cool! Enjoy! It's an awesome place! Oh yeah, a must is the church at Angoville Au-Plain!

Mont St Michel is cool. We spent a day walking around there.

I've been to Le Harve and almost starved to death. We finally found a Chinese restruant that served something we could keep down.
