I'm with U on this one bro .... well for the most part .. I am not DISSAPOINTED in this season at all ... have there been some dissapointments?? ABSOLUTELY ... but on the whole I've seen alot more to be excited about than negative .. U mentioned some ... no need re-hashing ... well OK .. just a few things that particullarly excite me ..

Kameron appears to have the STUD PO we haven;t had since Jamar Miller ...
DQ seems like he will be an Avg ML at worst ... he needs to improve but he has been doing that all year .. this is a HUGE OFF SEASON for him .. and next year will be PIVOTAL in his development ..
Leon ... this kid is an ahtelete playing LB ... if he can learn to be a LB with atheletic skills he can be a SPECIAL ONE .. like DQ this is a HUGE OFF SEASON for him ..
Bodden and Jones have been huge surprises ... and Pool although playing out of position is playing better evey week .. gives me hope for him ,,

at the end of the day bro .. and u said this .. WERE YOUNG .. very young (why couldnt u ADMIT to this before the season .. *L*) .. the development of last years and this years and next years draft classes is HUGE (along with La's health) .... if they develop we will be right there come 08 .. if not .. were in trouble ... but this year gives me HOPE ....

The only dissappointments I see are the games we lost, when all we had to do was control the ball on offense.

other than that, I am happy with the progression from our Draft picks.

I don't count hold overs from the last regimine in determining "a succesful season".

I guess the title wasn't the best choice. Maybe it should have been "do we have reason to hope". I kind of was thinking along the same lines as what Eotab and DiamDawg were...though they definitely supported it better. I think we do have some talent, albeit extremely young talent, I think that many of the failures have been due to that lack of experience.

Not all of them by any leap of the imagination. I also wasn't expecting much this year and from that angle while it's been disappointing it has also been what I expected.

Now if next year we don't see a major rebound that we haven't yet hit then I don't know what I'd have to say. I'm still very concerned that our OL and DL are weaknesses, but given the poor overall quality of each it is difficult to say if we don't possibly have some keepers that are just lost in the overall mess.

I'd just like to ask you one thing tab...........................

What has Leon done that Quicy Morgan never did?
What possible reason do you have to show Leon is so much better than Andre',Quicy or any of the other big WR's we've had since our return? I'm looking for it,but I ain't finding it.

Pit, I'll bet you right now that Braylon Edwards, in his 6th season is NOT 4 deep on somebodys depth chart at WR.... whatever you want to bet...

That gives you #1,#2,#3 WR or not in the league at all!
<img src="/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

Those odds don't seem that favorable.
<img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

But before you go making wagers with people who do take such big odds,you might want to think about something first. There was another highly sought BIG WR that was taken in 01 with the eighth overall pick. Remember?

8 Chicago David Terrell WR/ Michigan

You seem pretty sure history won't repeat itself. well,good luck with that.

Well, I pretty much agree with your entire post.

It paints a very dire picture.

It is dire. We continually lose way more games than we win. Posters talk more about the upcoming draft in September and October than the playoffs. That should tell us something.

Your extreme hatred for Savage, however, lets Crennel and his staff off the hook. You don't seem to want to hold Crennel accountable for poor performances.

I don't hate Savage...I just hate how he is trying to build the team. I give RAC a pass because I don't think we have enough talent to give him a fighting chance. I'm not saying he is a good coach. I just think it is hard to fairly judge him because our talent level, especially in the most important units, is so poor.

BTW.......I was very loud against hiring RAC. One of the few on here who did not like the hire. But......I can change my mind if someone proves me wrong. All I'm saying about RAC....and all the coaches...is that they don't have enough talent to work with.

As for the Savage hating, couldn't you be more subtle?

LOL.....that's a good one. No one else probably got that, but I did. You made me laugh. Good one. <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Nope, he's presently 4th on the Broncos WR depth chart at the #2 WR at that... so essentially they have 6 WRs ahead of him...

I could list a host of other big WRs drafted early in the first round who are doing just fine and call THAT history repeating itself too....

Along with several other reasons...................
<img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

And I hate having to use one of Diams boys as an example.
( yeah,right)
<img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

If he can get his head out of his arse and start performing regularly,you'll win out his arguement. If he keeps being immature,he'll end up being a cancer to this team and more trouble than he's worth.

It's his mind that will determine the outcome. He has the potential as so many do when drafted. But if he let's his mouth outrun his talent and he feels he's too gifted to improve,he'll just be another statistic. Time will tell how this pans out.

So far,the teams woes are because of Brian Russel making cheap hits and he's tried critiquing the OL. When does he start criticizing himself and taking responsibility for his own mistakes,instead of pointing the finger towards everyone else?

That's just not what I percieve a young player with a lot to learn at his own position should be doing to breed success. Hopefully that will change.

While I certainly have "questions," I'm no RAC-basher, but THAT is a coaching problem.
