This was my preferred signing at RB, big back with very good hands...will work well with Duke...and what a great affordable contract too.

Great signing. Solid back, still young, good production, vet presence for the room: Carlos, Duke, Draft Pick - That draft pick could be Barkley if he falls to us, but more likely someone taken later. I like this preemptive move.

There are a few I'd be happy with, Guice, Ro-Jo, Kerryon, Sony, & Adams. Give me any of the five. I won't even be mad if by some fluke Dorsey takes Saquon @ #4, if he's there.

I think the three i'm most interested in are Guice, Ronald Jones, and Nick Chubb. My thing with Jones is that he reminds me a lot of Duke Johnson. I just wonder if his body can handle the NFL beating. He looks small

Kerryon,Kerryon,Kerryon, ! LOL See, I found Kerryon Johnson to just not be that explosive or quick in the tape i've watched of him. I like that he seems to be able to do it all, and his Auburn Coach says he's more than a willing blocker (essential for a young RB), but when I watch him verses Guice, it's not even close

j/c... Barkley fans are not going to be happy when Dorsey passes on Barkley twice this draft. Nathan Zegura Verified account @NathanZegura Solid move to bring in Hyde who had 1300 total yards and 8 TDs last year. Fits nicely with Duke and allows Dorsey to draft a RB in this loaded class where us usually does (ie NOT first round). Tweet

I also liked what I saw out of Dayes and I think if they watch the preseason film and what he did on special teams they will see it too.

I followed Zeke heavily as a Buckeye and some as a Pro. He is much more punishing RB than Crow could ever be. Plus he loves to Block. 41 TD's in his last two years at Ohio State and 3700 yards.
Averaged over a hundred yards and had 22 TD's in 2 years at Dallas ..... Can't see where he isn't an Upgrade to Crow. It's the Buckeye Hyde we got, not Zeke.

He will get you that 2/3 yards when you absolutely , positively need it .. He will bull dog a 10/15 yard run to loosen up the defensive he is a good blocker , can catch . I will leave the 50 yard runs to Duke ..lol

I really like this signing. Hyde should be a good replacement for Crowell.

So I guess the Browns are giving up on having a running game after signing this sad excuse of a HB. Hyde sucks bad. He is a good part of the reason SF had a worse offense than the sad Browns. He has never even broke 1000 yards and seldom breaks 60 yards a game. Even with JG throwing the ball this guy couldn't produce worth a darn.
The fact some of you even think this is a good thing really disappoints me. This is a flat out terrible singing especially for the ridiculous contract said to be offering. I'd rather draft some scrub from the heap of the draft that have this loser on our team. 7 of his games he didn't even break 50 yards. 9 of his games he didn't break 60 yards. That means more than half of his season he didn't break 60 yards rushing.
Do you even realize how much you have to suck to be that bad? He might have 1 or 2 games a season that are good. You just get lucky when he doesn't fumble more than he gets a TD because he sure doesn't score many TDs. YAY! let's be happy about gaining 50 yards of rushing per game.
Unbelievable.

And Crowell had 10 games last year where he didn't hit 60 yards.

Unbelievable. ------------------------------- LOL, this doesn't mean anything is over man. Barkley might be there at four and he could be our guy. There's other players in the draft who look pretty good too. Guice is pretty high on my list. Ronald Jones. And Duke Johnson isn't too shabby either. Maybe we lock him up too. I see this as a lateral move. And we'll hopefully look for an upcoming rookie to replace Dayes. Might even be Barkley (who I'd love at 4). But Guice, Jones, Chubb, Michel, Kerryon Johnson, and so on, don't look bad either

The fact they even signed Hyde tell me they don't know what a running game looks like or don't have any desire to have a running game. They will pass on Barkly even if he is there at 4. There is no doubt in my mind about it anymore.
This just flat out sucks to know we will never have a real running game.

This just flat out sucks to know we will never have a real running game. This guy drafted Kareem Hunt to the KC Chiefs last year. That wasn't a running game on the Chiefs? 1327 Yards. 8 Rushing TDs out of a rookie (not to mention a bunch of receiving yards and 3 receiving TDs) Todd Haley Coached Jamal Charles and Leveon Bell. That's not a running game? No desire for a running game? Come on man............ Relax and be patient

May I suggest you step back away from the computer for a day or so and breath .. We have yet to have a draft or training camp or pre-season game ! Opinions are just fine ( good or bad ) but I think you may be getting just a little carried away as of late .. lol

None of the stats matters if the O-coordinator neglects and abandons the run early on and for no reason.
Crow may not have had a fair shot, but he didn't help himself in his constant need for many carries before warming up on the carries his number was called on for.

forget what the kid said...its the draft experts n ex players on TV saying Barkley is greater than Zeke.
Hyde a good back probably an upgrade on Crow. But a replacement so we dont go in the draft with urgency! If a RB is BPA n best for us to take we still will get one. Just like even with TT we still getting QB at #1.
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!

And if we don't select Barkley at 1 or 4, doesn't mean we have given up on a rushing attack. My biggest concerns right now are corner and LT, lol. And LT i think we're going to just have to put off for a little bit and hope that Drango, Coleman, or Hubbard can handle the job

We have a different coach running the O this year. You can't go by what we did last year. With TH I'm sure things will be different. His name is all over the Hubbard signing IMO. He will run the O this year.

I didn't want him more than Guice, but I like it. Although I wonder how often we'll run from the shotgun, a rare occurrence last year. Also, you guys are sleeping heavy on Jerrick McKinnon. That dude has always been a good RB in a bad situation. He's much more of a bowling ball than Duke. He's gonna be on my FF big board this year and will be a steal.

This just flat out sucks to know we will never have a real running game. Or... they'll bring a whole stable of horses in and run the crap out of the ball. Maybe?
