In a world where the Browns are a bitter disappointment, Joe Thomas never disappointed. I'm glad to see him get out before his body started breaking down badly. Here's to many years of good health, Mr. Thomas!

Hot take:

Maybe if Joe would have taken a few snaps of here and there he could have played a few more season!

That is right, at least that's a little good news ... Thanks Joe I enjoyed watching you dominate the best DE's in the NFL for 11 years

Thanks Joe, for being the best Browns player in decades! First ballot HOFer for sure and for certain!

Exactly this why I believe we trade with Buffalo and at 21 1 of 3 LT's will be there ... Mike McGlinchey ND, Conner Williams TX, Orlando Brown Oklahoma ...

Bufallo isn't at #21 anymore, they traded up with the Bengals. They sit at #12 right now.

Hate to see you go Joe but you have to put your health and your family first. You've given me a lot of great memories with your play. You've been everything and more than a fan could ask for both on and off the field. You have represented the Browns and its fan base well.

Good look moving forward in whatever you choose to do in the future.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

If they could find a way to bend the rules for Enshrinement in the HOF he'd be in there this evening.
No one has anything but the Greatest Respect for him as a Player, Teammate and certainly as a Man.
For 11 years and 10,363 straight snaps he gave DC's Hell!

Deepest Thanks Joe!

The last time the Browns started a season without Joe Thomas, their o-line looked like:
LT - Kevin Shaffer
LG - Joe Andruzzi
C - Hank Fraley
RG - Cosey Coleman
RT - Ryan Tucker

They move it around a lot. I imagine the show will be ran out of Bristol by the end of next month. Hawkins is employed by ESPN and does a show for them on SnapChat.

This season, we will enshrine the number 10,363 to recognize @joethomas73's incredible consecutive snaps streak

I wonder if we can get him to replace Wylie as our OL coach?

0% chance. He's going to get a pretty nice media gig. More money, much less stress.

On the podcast, Joe Thomas said that he let the team know a while ago, but they held off on announcing it so it didn't affect the free agent market.

We should just offer him the HC spot. I'm sure he'll poach McCown from playing to be an OC.

Thanks Joe for all the years of dominance and yet humility. Truly a class act. You’ll be missed and though we may fill that position with talent, your level of dominance at LT will likely, sadly, never be seen again in orange and brown.

I along with others had suspected as much. Joe has always been a team guy and of high character. I believe those projecting otherwise were basing their posts on emotions.

just goes to show you, Joe T was one of if not the best LT to ever play the game. Hes never had a a playoff game. Seems to me the position maybe overvalued.

All the best in retirement JT - one of the best Browns ever for me, given the circumstances of his career, his excellence and how he conducted himself throughout.

Joe Thomas only won 40 games and lost 128 in his NFL career.

The last time the Browns were a .500 was his rookie season.

He had 20 starting Quarterbacks.

I'm sure the mental abuse also took it's toll.

11 seasons all with the Browns
10 consecutive Pro Bowls
7 All-Pro teams
10,363 consecutive snaps

Not at all.
It just emphasizes that it is a TEAM sport. It takes more than one person at one position to make a team a winner.

Browns is the Browns

... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Man, I am listening to Joe talk about how he had torn cartilage that felt like grinding in his knee, and how much pain he was in, and I can say from 1st hand experience, it hurts like the devil! For him to play through that is just astonishing.

Joe said that the Browns want him to stay involved with the team and he looks forward to that. laugh

Joe, I will miss seeing you playing on Sundays. I wish you well in retirement, and have no doubt that you will be successful in whatever you do. I hope that you find relief for your pain. I know firsthand how debilitating pain can be, and I have mad respect for you somehow playing through that.

Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.
