Jets trade for Colts No. 3 overall pick in 2018 NFL Draft WOW.
The New York Jets have made the first big trade of the 2018 NFL Draft. More than a month remains until the first round opens, but the Jets have traded for the Indianapolis Colts No. 3 overall pick. The Jets announced that they are giving up their sixth overall pick, 37th overall pick, 49th overall pick, and 2019 2nd round pick.

This was the team I was hoping we'd trade the 4 to (if we traded out).
Trading with the Bills doesn't sound that exciting to me because I don't like the 12 position.
I think we're going to have to lock ourselves in. 1) QB 4) Trade down with the Broncos, Barkley, or Chubb

In a month, could it be worth that and more? Seems like a really serious conviction at that price.
Anybody see the price as a bargain?

Do the Bills now try to Jump them for a QB. Will NY trade out with them ? That would be 3 QBs and our choice of the rest

If we were even considering taking our QB at pick #4. ( And I never thought we should ) That option just went out the window. QB with #1 pick no options now.

This might make Denver more desperate to jump up to #4 if they're worried we'll give the pick to Buffalo.

“We can just take our QB at 4,” they said.
So we want our third choice at QB (potentially)? No thanks.

That probably wouldnt happen till the 2 pick is decided by whoever. Only way to get YOUR guy ( After us ) is to move to 2. I don't think NY picks a QB.

The Jets seem to be willing to take the third choice at QB.

It looks like they will go 1, 2, 3, 4. I just can’t believe the Jets traded up without knowing who will be there. They’re basically saying, “We’re with whatever QB two teams don’t want.”

The Jets seem to be willing to take the third choice at QB. I know you are joking, but that’s their only option. We don’t have their problems.

Wondering if they inquired about #2 and the Giants said NOT FOR SALE. My guess is yes. Which would mean the Giants are taking a QB, because teams don’t trade their picks if they are taking a QB.

CLE - Darnold NYG - Rosen NYJ - Allen CLE - Barkley DEN - Nelson IND - Chubb .... could still happen, but my guess is that when it is all over, LBs pushed up and Nelson falls a little in this draft. I could see Tampa moving to 5 in this scenario for Chubb. https://twitter.com/LanceZierlein/status/975027649633497091

Or they are just THAT sold on Barkley being their guy. I can't see that though. Like someone said earlier, Eli is 37. They would have to be thinking about getting his replacement sooner rather than later. I would think they have to go QB this year.

The Jets seem to be willing to take the third choice at QB. Perks of having the #1 pick. Dorsey is under no obligation to make the #1 pick available, nor should he in my opinion (unless a team makes a truly absurd offer.)

I honestly don't even think it's a question now. We'll go QB at #1. Judging by Dorsey's history, and the amount of RB talent that will probably be available in the 2nd round this year ... I don't even know that we go with Barkley if he's available at #4 (or #5).
My guess is that the plan is to take a QB #1, and then take Chubb at #4 (Or Fitz). Then take whatever RB falls to us in Round 2, as there should be plenty of options.

If Indy feels comfortable that they'll get Chubb at 6, Mr Dorsey might have news for them.

IAN RAPOPORT Twitter..
The #Jets explored all options for this trade... including possibly going up to No. 1. In the end, they settled on No. 3. ... Meanwhile, the #Colts fielded calls from other QB-needy teams, but felt good about moving to No. 6 and dealing with the #Jets.

A cafeteria of qb’s and we’re already first in line. To trade out of that spot, for as long as we’ve waited to get a franchise qb, would be a most insane action by our GM.

This could be the greatest draft of all time for the Browns.
The Plan is all coming together.

A few thoughts:
It seems kind of odd that the Jets would make the move this far out, not knowing who will still be on the board. That said, in recent years, teams have become more and more aggressive in trading up for their QB, sometimes doing so well in advance of the draft (Goff and Wentz for example.) I imagine the Jets are content with any one of three players.
Still, three second round picks to move up three spots is a steep price to pay.

This is way early...and gives the Giants plenty of time to dangle the now hyper-valuable #2 to Denver or lower... Buffalo's two 1st's this year and their 2019 first, perchance?

Totally Irresponsible. That ain't Dorseys style. FINALLY we're getting a G Damn QB in here. YESSS! This will CHANGE this Franchise!

I appreciate that JJ's trade value chart is only guidelines, but c'mon...that's a 600 point overpay... they'd better not draft the "wrong" QB in New Jersey

Yup, this guarantees QB's go 1, 2 and 3. I suppose maybe #4 if we trade out (which I don't want to do - Give me QB at #1 and Chubb at #4).

This could be the greatest draft of all time for the Browns. I agree, but 1978 was a pretty good one - Clay and Ozzie were taken at #12 and #23 that year. But then we blew it by taking a freaking punter in the 2nd round at #39 (Johnny Evans). Yikes, how Browns was that?

Yep. 1-2-3. It's the Nature of the Beast when it comes to QB'S. We're going to be sitting at 4 with the #1 Player on the Board there. PERFECT Now comes Denver. They may want to come to 4 in fear of Buffalo or Arizona moving up. We STILL get our #1 player on our board. AT FIVE. That's INSANE! Thank you Sashi. Thank you Houston!

Nobody seriously wants Allen or Lamar Jackson.
The Jets moving up, maybe someone else moves up to 2, hopefuly not 1.
This just means the Jets are going to take/get one of the top 3 qb's
Teams, "a lot of them" want one of the three Qb's, mostly Mayfield, I belive.
Mayfield is better than Sam Darnold:
period.
And they Both are better than Rosen:
Period.
And some teams might want Saquan Barkley more than what they perceive as the lesser of those ^ Qb's
But Guice is going to be the most prolificly successful Rb, from this year:
The Browns are going to do what ever they decide to do,
I hope they take Baker Mayfield #1.
(After all that, I'm pretty sure "everybody!!!" around the NFL is seeing how good Baker Mayfield is going to be, the Bronco's want him, the Giants, Bears, heck just about every team (even the Dolphins have been mentioned) wants the pipe dream of getting their hands on Baker Mayfield.
That's why the Jets' would move up to this point, because just about the only other thing the entire NFL agrees on is the Browns are historically(past), are dumb, And the teams hope the Browns are dumb enough to not take Baker Mayfield #1 overall , even though
He is clearly, head and shoulders, the BPA Best Player Available.
So the Jet's made a move like this, to hopefully fulfill a pipe dream and get Mayfield, if the Browns are dumb, and somebody else at 2 doesn't take him and the Jets
are showing they are willing to settle for Darnold or Rosen, if the Browns are smart enough to take Mayfield,
And also the Jet's at 3 can now threaten to take Saquan Barkley at 3 if the Browns hope to take him at 4.
or , Jet's GM can call up Browns and say, "We are NY, we know who you want at #1, and #4, and now you have to choose because whichever one you don't take at 1, we are taking at 3, (and call the Browns a name).
So, might as well take Mayfield at #1, and make the Jets settle for the lesser Rosen, at 3, or Barkley, ( and call the Jet's a name).
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.
