I think the Jets felt the pressure of the Bills moving up to 12, knowing that 12 and 22 was a much more valuable trade on the point value chart than they could offer. To get a QB, not necessarily the one they want, but one of the four closely rated to QBs, they had to offer an overvalued trade to get a QB.
I would say they offered the same trade to the Browns and the Giants, got turned down, then found their taker with the Colts.

This definitely changes my mind about taking Barkley at #1 and our QB at #4 because now we are almost assured Barkley will still be there at #4 and we can also have our choice of QB at #!, best of both worlds for us.
But my question is this . Say we dont even want BArkley, and it is going to be Minkah or Chubb at #4. I like them both, but why are so many picking Chubb at #4 instead of Minkah? When we already have two outstanding DEs but seriously need a playmaker in our secondary?

It sure seems McKown winning 5 games for the Jets last year has cost them dearly. Most here thought that they were a lot worse off than we were before the season started.

Because Randall will be moved to FS and Peppers will play SS.
Also the position. You never turn away a great pass rusher.

Rather than a hybrid Safety/CB I expect the Browns will likely go for more pressure on the Front 4 or pickup Ward as the top CB available.

Maybe they plan on trading Ogbah.
Ogbah and #64 to a team drafting in the 20s (Lions/Rams/Falcons). Pick the best CB available - Alexander, Jackson, Hughes.

I honestly don't even think it's a question now. We'll go QB at #1. Judging by Dorsey's history, and the amount of RB talent that will probably be available in the 2nd round this year ... I don't even know that we go with Barkley if he's available at #4 (or #5).
My guess is that the plan is to take a QB #1, and then take Chubb at #4 (Or Fitz). Then take whatever RB falls to us in Round 2, as there should be plenty of options. I agree. I think this scenario is becoming more and more likely after our FA moves / trades. The second round RB's have 1st round talent.

10,000 comedians out of work and you're trying to be funny?
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

This is ideal for us IMO. We get our choice of QB at 1, then the best position player will be available to us next.
1. Cleveland - Darnold 2. NY Giants - Rosen 3. NY Jets - Mayfield 4. Denver (They get paranoid that we'll trade with Buffalo) - Allen 5. Cleveland - Barkley or Chubb
Ideal
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

How many games did Garrett miss last season? How many games did Ogbah miss the past 2? good point, so at #4 overall we are drafting for depth? Got it . Dont get me wrong, I would be thrilled with Chubb, I am definitely a defensive and especially DL. Just questioning somes logic as to why it has to be Chubb over Fitz.

So if Minkah can be a generational player at the safety position , we dont draft him because we have a development safety project?

And we need 3 DE’s ....
Yup ... that about sums it up right there ...
Were gonna pass on Fitz for a guy that hasn’t played FS in 3 years and is not in Fit’s class as a FS so we can draft a GREAT FOOTBALL PLAYER that would be a ROTATIONAL GUY ...
Now ... someone said OGBAH may be on the block ... i wouldn’t undertand it ... but then Chubb would make all the sense in the world ... i’d Still want my defensive QB ... but i would be able to UNDERSTAND IT ALOT BETTER if that were the case ...

Why do people call Chubb depth or a rotational player? Ogbah has been solid but nothing special. Chubb would be the starter and stud. Ogbah becomes the a rotational depth player.

I agree and our secondary was a way bigger weakness than our DL was last year. We signed a couple decent secondary players , that will help, but nobody who would be a premiere, Pro Bowl type difference maker back there. I dont know , maybe we could have three safetys who are good enough so that we dont have to have them lined up 25 yards off the ball, maybe?

Garrett and Chubb are starters, Ogbah would be rotational and depth. Plus, we've got three 2nd rounders open for DB selections and a LT. I'm okay with Fitz too, but I think I want to build a D-line that will scare QB's away from thinking they'll have time for anything other than a 3-step drop. Go get solid tacklers and we can start printing Super Bowl tickets. Okay, got carried away at the end, but it's fun to think like that.

I would love to have Lamar J, but just cant see it happening at #1 overall, or really even #4 , not with the way this is all shaking out.
