NYG are taking a QB in my opinion ... no way they decline NYJ's offer for THAT much if you aren't (and you'd still get a GOOD player at 6) I agree. Or he's hoping that he can get more as the draft gets closer. I'd have taken the deal if I was not planning on taking a QB. They may be thinking Denver or Buffalo might now want to jump NJY ... this is a huge chess game at this point
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Exactly. Would you rather have #6 and 3 2nd rounders or possibly,3 1st rounders+ from Buffalo. Maybe they said no to NYJ in hopes of getting more from Buffalo.

This trade is very confusing to me, they just signed McKown, who should be the starter at his contract amount, and Bridgewater, who I’m pretty sure they want to take a good look at and see if he is worth resigning next year. So if they moved up for a QB, when is that QB gonna get his reps? Only so much tome they can devote to developing him. History says the price they paid is for a QB. Are they actually targeting someone else? I don’t understand going to three for the QB, are there three QBs they like? That’s the only reason I see the move to three. Unless the target is another player. It’s a little perplexing to me. This move, really doesn’t make a lot of sense to me for the jets.

McKown will start the year but, as past years have shown, he has trouble finishing the year. That have Bridgewater to fill that gap and his 5 mil salary is relatively cheap. Next year their drafted qb should be ready to take over.

Trading teams don't usually tell the teams WHO they are picking from everything I have read or heard. Screw me ONCE, you'll NEVER get another chance. There's only 31 of these Top Cheeses out there. That's treading on THIN ICE.

This trade says 2 things to me. If the Giants do not want a QB they will pull off a kings ransom for #2.
The Browns are keeping #1. I am sure the Jets called the Browns and Giants before pulling the trigger at #3 with the Colts. So the offer they must have made to the Giants was not enough so Buffalo or Denver will have to give them much more or the Giants are like the Browns and are dead set on a QB.
QB will without a doubt go 1,2,3 in the draft and if the Browns like Saquon Barkley he will be there for them at #4.

Jets explored moving to No. 1 Posted by Mike Florio on March 17, 2018, 4:46 PM EDT
It’s still unclear who the Jets are targeting with the third overall pick in the draft. The latest tidbit regarding the move from No. 6 suggests that they’re definitely leaning quarterback.
Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets talked to the Browns about a move all the way to No. 1. Which means that, potentially, the jump to No. 3 is merely a pit stop on the way to the top of the draft.
If the goal is to get a quarterback, the move to No. 3 means that the Jets feel sufficiently strongly about at least three quarterbacks to justify giving up three second-round picks for the privilege of moving up three spots in the pecking order.
The apparent interest in a quarterback makes the decision to re-sign Josh McCown at $10 million and to sign Teddy Bridgewater in the range of $5 million even more curious, and it suggests that, eventually, 2016 second-rounder Christian Hackenberg (who has never played in a regular-season game) will be gone.
It also cuts against the win-now vibe that G.M. Mike Maccagnan and coach Todd Bowles otherwise have been exuding. A high pick spent on a player who won’t play could have been a high pick spent on a player who will play.
For who, who will be drafted by the Jets — and who will play quarterback this year and beyond — remains to be seen.

I think there are 3 guys they see as possible francise QB's and why they made such an aggresive move to #3 and I would guess Rosen, Darnold, and Allen.

Not nearly enough to be a no doubt starter. 3) Bridgewater is still recovering and could be never anything again. 4. Those two are the perfect mentors for a young guy.

If he does then the Jets have two good QBS, which is a nice problem to have

Heck, didn't we pay $16M for Brock to get our hands on their 2nd rounder and then cut him? The Jets can eat $12M for 8-16 games of McCown. As you said, he's temporary. And yes, Bridgewater is a total unknown. He's a 2nd or 3rd backup at this point.

Been saying from the get go QBs are going 1, 2 and 3 with somebody trading up to the Colts pick to create that trifecta. Thought the Colts would get a bit better but they did only move back 3 spots.
So guess what this means DAWGS.
We get the BEST QB deemed by our think tank at overall #1 ande we will get our choice of the first positional player available at overall pick #4.
I've been saying for a while, things are just falling in place for our Browns for a change! The curse seems to be over.
So Amazing player at Overall #4 as I have a thread with that title is coming to fruition.
Love it man, I hope I live through the season...lol hope this aint no cruel trick!

j/c: We love to speculate. LOL
The Jets trading up to 3 should be good news for the Browns at 4. They either get the guy they want or make a trade w/Denver and move down one spot.
We're sitting pretty. I hope we don't screw it up again.

So, we essentially have to wait until Buffalo and Denver get into a bidding war for #4?
Denver may call our bluff if we tell them Buffalo offered 12, 20 (or is it 21) and more. I doubt we want to drop down to where Buffalo is picking. Denver may do nothing knowing we'll end up taking Fitz/Chubb/Barkley and leaving the 4th QB for them.
Right? Am I overthinking this?

Darnold at #1 Barkley at #4 Seems pretty easy to me. No need to overthink this. With our FA pick ups and Gordon with his head on straight we will be sitting pretty. Then we go to round 2.

Barring injuries, skeletons in the closet or arrests I can't imagine the FO isn't dialed in on #1. Well unless someone offers us their entire 2018 first three rounds and a 2019 1st.... ;-). So it's about a lock we get a QB. #4 though has some Juice.... there are at least 4 players here we need. DB, DE, CB, RB... so it wouldn't be a stretch to see us drop down a few spots and still see one of them on the board. I would be surprised if we do but then again.....

As my theme has been this offseason. Things are just falling into place for our Browns! Can anyone remember this happening. Year after year of bad timing.
Man I know I'm considered a Homer as if that is a bad thing...lol
But this season so far is coming up perfect. So much so that I'm afraid for my health as this must be a cruel joke...lol

There is a rumor the Jets talked to the Browns about trading up to #1. That tells me they want the same player the Browns want or they think the Browns want. We can take the best QB at 1 and get the best player in the draft at 4. I think QBs will be the 1st 3 picks. I do not see the Giants taking a QB but instead trading down with a team that does want a QB. I hope the Browns stay at 4 and take the best player on their board. We need to get the best for a change instead of always settling for lesser players.
I just want a winner. We need players who can be part of the solution not part of the problem.

So who do the Jets want at No. 3? Mike Florio,ProFootball Talk on NBC Sports Sat, Mar 17 11:48 AM EDT The Jets have moved to No. 3 not to be at No. 3 but to get player No. 1 on their board. So who is it? The prevailing reaction in response to the news of the three-spot jump seems to be that the Jets want a quarterback, and that they’re fine with any of three that would be there when they pick. It may not be quite that simple. The Jets could be hoping to get running back Saquon Barkley at No. 3, with defensive end Nick Chubb being viewed as an acceptable fallback. If just one quarterback is taken in the first two picks, they’re guaranteed to get one of the two top non-quarterbacks. If it’s bang-bang one-two quarterbacks (and don’t be shocked if the Bills now move up to No. 2 with the Giants to get a quarterback), the Jets will get Barkley. Also, the Browns may now feel more compelled to take a quarterback at No. 1 instead of No. 4, if they think the Jets will take a quarterback. Which sets the stage for two quarterbacks being gone by the time the Jets pick. Other factors support this possible strategy. First, the Jets signed Josh McCown and Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater becomes, potentially, the young quarterback who is evaluated this year with the possibility of becoming the starter in 2019. Second, G.M. Mike Maccagnan and coach Todd Bowles may feel compelled to win now. Drafting and stashing a quarterback with the third overall pick won’t help that cause; drafting an impact player who’ll start Week One at another position will. Consider the team’s recent experiences. Last year, the Jets took safety Jamal Adams at No. 6, and he became an instant contributor. The year before, they used a second-round pick on quarterback Christian Hackenberg, who has yet to play in a regular-season game. The idea that the Jets definitely will take a quarterback at No. 3 means that they definitely have decided that there are three of five potential first-round quarterbacks who will become franchise quarterbacks. Given the Hackenberg misadventure, it’s hard to imagine the Jets being that confident about their ability to evaluate incoming quarterbacks. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/jets-want-no-3-154834557.html
