What would be worse, a crap sandwich on toast or a crap sandwich on a hamburger bun? lol

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

So if Browns' GM Dorsey was at OSU's pro day today, guess where he wasn't? Baker Mayfield was scheduled to work out for the Browns today in Oklahoma, wasn't he?

I wonder if we'll still hold our private workout with him. And, like I said in another thread, I wonder if Dorsey will take the flight to Wyoming for Allen's Pro-Day tomorrow.

Dorsey was there for Josh Rosen's workout though, I believe. Wonder if they took him out to dinner too. Of course, this was all in LA, so it's a bit easier for everyone. Rosen then Darnold. LA and LA

Dorsey was not at OSU today. He was at Mayfield's Pro Day. Blurb at the end of the story.

I guess the grade/perception of Baker revolves on how you quantify the schematic advantages of being a QB that is very well protected, throwing to WRs that get great separation, in a scheme that creates easy throws and in one of the weaker defensive conferences around.

I'm one of the bigger proponents of PFF in this forum but I think they underestimate the advantages Baker has because he plays at OU. Imho those advantages inflate all his production numbers across the board.

Imho Baker will undoubted face a big adjustment based on situation being the QB of OU to the QB of an NFL team.

That why for me, Baker isn't my top QB. Still a damn good prospect.

I don't even know why you bother explaining anything to someone that puts such a poor amount of effort in making correct statements.

It's almost a guarantee that he won't even acknowledge his, lol "mistake".

Everyone knows that you've posted all Mark Schofield's breakdown of the QBs prospects.

Good work btw, imho Schofield's breaksdowns are a must for anyone that wants to gain more knowledge about the QB prospects.

No problem, just missed it. My bad. Its an unusual hi-light choice - but to each their own.

At least its shows a pretty good return on Mayfield as in only 5 out of a lot of throws wink

Although I must admit you are a STAT King...its nice to have people who held a clipboard in High School wink lol

I'm neither mad nor angry nor stomping my feet. Actually you are the one who is whining. Your football sucks. Your stats are pretty good. Again who died and made you king as you continue to try to rule the board and monitor it.

You started out good but the more you post and some just slowly came out BS. I've complimented and liked your posts when warranted. I'm fair but when I smell bs I say so.

Browns' interest in Baker Mayfield seems sincere, per source, and John Dorsey praises him
Updated 6:31 PM; Posted 6:30 PM

By Mary Kay Cabot, cleveland.com

ORLANDO -- Many draft experts believe that the 'tastes great/less filling' debate for the Browns is between Sam Darnold and Josh Allen.

But at least one source close to the situation told cleveland.com he believes the Browns still have 'sincere interest' in Mayfield after a 'great' private workout with the Browns at Oklahoma last week and that he's still legitimately in the discussion for the Browns at No. 1, No. 4 or wherever they pick their Qb.

At the NFL Annual Meeting Monday, Browns GM John Dorsey said it's 'fair enough' to surmise that the top four quarterbacks are still in the mix: Darnold, Allen, Mayfield and Josh Rosen.

But the source said the Browns aren't just giving lip service to the Mayfield talk, and that they genuinely like him. Whether or not they'd take him No. 1 overall is still in question, but the Browns have some options in terms of trading up or down with their first two picks.

"He had a really good workout,'' said Dorsey. "He had a really good conversation with the group that night. He did really well on the Xs and Os. That determination will come I would say within the next three to four weeks of kind of where we're going to be in that process and kind of finalize everything toward the draft."

I think if you're not trying to outsmart yourself the pick is easily Mayfield. If you're trying to look brilliant by taking a chance on someone who might be better you're picking anyone but Mayfield.

I don't have a dog in this fight in terms of the QB I want, although there doesn't seem to be much interest in Rosen from the FO. One thing to note is that both Dorsey and McCloughlan had been previously tied to liking Mayfield far before either of the two were employed by the Browns, whether as a GM or consultant.

I think that is worth recognizing/admitting to those that don't like Mayfield. It's a matter of where he stands up with the others.

That's true. Although I think, until we understand McCloughlan's role, I don't think he's worth noting. But Dorsey did see a ton of Mayfields games. Now, is that because he lived close to Oklahoma and was scouting the Big 12 as well? (No idea where Dorsey was living)

But yeah, that does mean something. And if we do draft Mayfield (my second choice), i'll even support those stupid head bands he wears

If you are looking to take a QB that LOOKS the part of a Championship QB then do so, might as well take Allen in that regard, he is the pretend champion...lol

If you want a QB who will win you a championship then Mayfield is your man. He has the football intelligence he has the accuracy, he has the "IT" factor. Yeah he is short in the "LOOKS" department, so was Brees, so was Rodgers, so was TT for that matter. All these QBs don't consider themselves short. They have been QBs all their SHORT lives. They have learned how to deal with it. The first two have gone on to win Championships.

jmho, I'm glad we have not eliminated Mayfield, the longer he stays in the running the more likely he will be a Brown.

this should really excite Swish!

But Mayfield blows all others away. Also the QBs since 1997 list is pretty impressive. The odds are Mayfield will not be another Leftwich.

It does. But I know it excites you.

But strieght up, know that I agree with what you said about baker.

If he was 6’3, it would be a no brainer that he was going #1 overall.

I think a guy like Russell Wilson would debunk this...

Baker is almost 6'1" and I understand he's 23 while Darnold is only 20. We could groom Darnold for 2 years and he'd still be younger than Mayfield is right now.

In my mind, I think these are the things we're weighing heavily, while height is there, I don't think it's that important.

Also, I like that Tyrod is about the same size as Mayfield and that Stanton celebrates like Mayfield... In reality I know this has no bearing on our pick, but I like to think it helps....

I disagree. I am of the opinion that he has a lot of holes and question marks in his game. I also don't think his "act" is going to win many NFL players over.

The hype surrounding Baker Mayfield is huge and an inaccurate picture of him is being painted.

i think his act will win his teammates over. teammates love a QB who will go to war with his teammates. that aspect will be a positive for him, imo.

my biggest worry is like yours. does his game translate to the nfl? but when looking at at the criteria. he's accurate, he can extend plays, he's mobile, he has a good arm and can make all the throws.
